Quran was revealed in Arabic and even this fact is emphasized in Quran
إنّا أنزلناه قرآنا عربياً لعلكم تعقلون (surely we have sent down an Arabic Quran so that you may understand) Surah Yusuf2.
So when word wash is mentioned , Arabs understand it as it is. Quran is not a coded book that anyone can interpret the way he likes and think the words are metaphorical. I’m neither a Sunni nor a Shia, but to see such a clear verse of the Quran be taken as “metaphorical” is blasphemous. On whose authority did you get this translation? It makes absolutely no sense. And all of this for what? Just to show that “ritual” practices don’t exist in Islam? You have changed the meaning of hajj, ghusl, salah, qibla, and other countless verses just because it doesn’t suit your understanding.

      Reminder:
The "governance interpretation" of Surah 5:6 is not a clear-cut meaning of the Text at all. Rather it is an "interpretation" and a highly speculative one at that, since the clear, established meaning of the verse is related to ritual purification for prayer. The language and context of the verse strongly support this literal understanding, making the governance interpretation far from the straightforward or intended meaning of the Text.
On a scale of 1-100, the governance interpretation of Surah 5:6 would likely score around 5. It lacks textual, linguistic, and contextual support and diverges from traditional uninanimous interpretations, making it highly implausible.
And above all of that, given the fact that the straightforward linguistic meaning of the Text differs from your interpretation. The one who then continues and speaks against Allah by ridiculing the straightforward meaning of the Adress Revealed from His Lord and even states something along the lines that Allah swt has done a bad job. My dear cousin in humanity, think very carefully of such a situation and what a state of loss the one who commits such an act find himself in.

you know Arabic...can it be read as ...'when you prepare for salaah' instead of...'when you stand for prayer'.
Now, for the rest of the ayat...i didn't see any of what you mentioned.
You say this is been grossly mis-interpreted, hence, please make another QIM breaking down each word on how you read it...against how they interpreted the Arabic.

The proof for this in 3:7 itself, because after min-Hu (from Him/it) it wasn't said that muHkemat are ummu-hu (its mother), but ummu-l-kitab (the Book's kitab) which means that min-Hu is not about the kitab, but about Allah, Huwe, from the start.

Old man! Why are you so arrogant like this? Are you really that frustrated? You did raise a good point between the first prayer and the time the verse for wudhu was revealed. If this verse is not Muhkamaat, then what is it? How many ways can you interpret 'wash your hands and face' And yet you yourself claimed Allah made things clear in the Quran. Is this not enough clear? How more clearer you want this verse to be? Old man!!! You are losing it. Where is your authority to treat this as Mutashabihaat? Are you a scholar yourself? I admire your courage to face Allah on Jusgement Day....I have no courage as a big sinner.

Typical Sunni, Shiite & Sectarian counterargument... _"Old man! Why are you so arrogant like this? Are you really that frustrated?"_
Always accusing others of their own failings & shortcomings.
Why are you accusing him of being arrogant?
      Because he is old?
Why are you accusing him of being frustrated?
      Because he is arrogant?
      Naaah...
There is only one reason for such bad manners & vulgarity... Sunnism!

@@CuriouslyInquisitiveThe Sunnah of the Prophet s.a.w. came through the same vessels of oral tradition as the Qur'an.
While this is fact and a complete science of information verification and grading was developed, and open to study, according to some it is logical to reject it. Was there an actual thinking proces involved in that "logic" ? Seerah could be rejected by the same "logic".
But then we lend an ear to a random man who opens by reffering to history (whudu and zoroastrians specificly) MashaAllah.
This particular transmission of historical information (supposed evidence), is it subject to anything that even remotely resembles the Ahadith sciences ? Is it now ? Or any historical documentation for that matter, is it subject to the same scrutiny, criteria, or curious inquisitiveness ?
      Ofcourse not.
But then we just are supposed to digest and affirm his claims based upon the weakest of foundations.
This man deems and presents the testimony of zoroastrians or writings about them (source unclear) a more reliable chain of narration than the oral tradition that transmitted the Qur'an itself.
Despite a foundation of absolute doubt the man goes even further to share his assumptions. Surah 5:6 prescribes water, but this man deems it a utilization for Legislated purification a waste.
The Prophet Muhammed s.a.w. is the example and clarifier of the Revelation. This is what is rejected by such a people and in return they offer their assumptions, whims and desires.
      May we be Guided.

    Al-Ma'idah 5:6
O you who believe, if you rise to hold the contact prayer, then wash your faces and your hands up to the elbows, and wipe your heads and your feet to the ankles; and if you have had intercourse, then you shall purify. And if you are ill, or traveling, or you have excreted feces, or you have had sexual contact with the women, and you cannot not find water, then you shall select from the clean soil; you shall wipe your faces and your hands with it. God does not want to place any hardship on you, but He wants to cleanse you and to complete His blessings upon you that you may be thankful.
The verse very clear if you are to perform prayer the wash you face, hands and wipe your feet to the ankles. And if you have had intercourse then bath.
You wudhu is not not in the Quran you fail to understand that the process of washing (ablution) for prayer in Arabic is called الوضوء washing yourself for prayers. Just because the word is not in the Quran does not mean it's not in the Arabic language.
The word car سيارة is not in the Quran do you claim its not Arabic
    From lanes Arabic lexicon

I respect your views but اقیموا needs to be concentrated upon. It is not اقرا‌it is اقیموا ..it means establish the connectivity with Creator not reciting loudly. Loud calling is against لاتجهروا ..dnt say loud. Then why Azan on loud speakers? As for the Ayat Mubarak you referred to ,allow me to submit that literal meaning may suit your explanation in favor of wazu but if read in syntax and with reference to context , the translation does not command for wazu. I will also invite your kind attention to Quran Majeed saying ; virtue is not facing mashriq or Maghreb.....till end. Pl read it. It beautifully explores what بر virtue is. After defining Virtue, Allah tells us that by doing these acts of virtue , Salaat is being founded, followed..if u translate Quran Majeed word by word , without diving deep into its syntax locution and methodology coupled with morphology of words, then things will be seen superficially as done by religious scholastics since Umayyads era in line with biblical inspired tafaseers and explanatory notes by ibn Ishaq Ibn Hisham and Tabri only. I wish we follow Quran Majeed. Regards. Asar ahmadzay

Bro the verse is very clear it call us before we we stand up for prayer قمتم
For prayer الصلاه then wash فاغسلوا
This act of washing is called wudhu in Arabic and seems you have ignord what Arabic classical dictionary defined what is wudhu. It's a physical wash nothing spiritual as you want try to tell us. You and the old mean does not understand simple Arabic the verse the tells us to used clean sand. This is a physical wipe and physical wash.
Another verse related to physical cleansing before prayer
But this Time it include sexual intercourse and u must have a bath but if U r ill; God understand they may be people who are ill and cannot use water then they should use soilby wiping clean soil to wipe face and hands. Even the qursnist don't deny this is a physical ablution. You and your friend are totally wrong on this all classical Arabic lexicon define this process as wudhu الوضوء
      Verse 2:177
Thus, the Qur'an stresses the principle that mere compliance with outward forms does not fulfil the requirements of piety. The reference to the turning of one's face in prayer in this or that direction. Then God continues to mention other things that make you righteous line giving you money to poor and needy (again physical process}, to free slaves (a physical process) and establish salat (physical process} all these are physical actions)
Another verse Salat is a physical action
GOD tells Muhammad Tha he know most of the part of the the prophet spends praying salat. So he tell him and his companion take it easy its impossible to do this and God understands some people will be ill some wants to get up morning to work and some will be fighting in the cause for Allah. So take is easy and do what you can. Then Gods end with the sentence
      inna Allaha ghafoorun raheemun
      He is forgiving and merciful
Even those Quran alone sect agree washing before prayers.
I do agree with him on certain things but some others like this he gone too far
