These are the kinds of allies we need , if it’s going to be a Black & Brown unity(which I do not believe in nor support it because we already tried from a Black perspective and look where we’re at right now) it needs to at least be reciprocal, because to date, it’s been a one sided transactional relationship with my people receiving the short end of the stick from Hispanics . I am glad more of us are seeing the bigger picture and moving accordingly. I think that Black and Hispanic people need to have a mutual respect and understanding of boundaries to continue any kind of relationship. But shout out to this Hispanic brotha for keeping it 💯

I'm Guatemalan and have been into Hip Hop since I can remember. My father took us to watch Beat Street in the theaters. My parents embraced that we just loved the music and culture. We (my older brother and me) wore wooden beads 😂. But with that all being said Black Americans created the Hip Hop culture and they embraced us because they could see the genuine love. I spent madd years here in Chicago being literally one of the few Latino Males at the Hip Hop clubs. Never an issue. I remember meeting Lord Jamar here at The Promontory and saying Peace God and it was respect back. Where it was an issue early on was from my fellow Latinos. I heard the shit like " you know you aint Black right? That was the most disrespectful anyone got because I didn't play that racist shit. 😂 I remember going to see a Latin Hip Hop artist later in life and thinking where the fuck all this Spanish dudes come from 😂.

Lord Jamar is a buffoon. He likes to stay in drama and gossip just like Tariq. That’s why he always goes on that other agents video ( VLADtv ) talking about other people, like a female.

But I still think we got a lot of our style and slang from the Morenos in my 'hood. I used to think we created b-boying, or break dancing if you're White and under 30, because Latinos are traditionally smaller in stature and that's all I ever saw bustin' moves on the floor were the Ricans. The Black kids were nasty with the pop lockin'. But now I hear different. Who gives a shit really? I've been in love with hip hop since I even knew what it was and realized I was already living it.

That is not true.. Puerto Ricans supported not only the puerto rican mc's but the African American mc's... Why isn't there more puerto rican mc's? Really how is that a question.. one look at the size of PR. Two there is a definite culture difference from the Nuyoricans and the islands Ricans when it comes to music and Language. Plus between P.R and the U.S there is only 9.13 million puerto ricans and over 40 million african americans here in the U.S alone. These numbers show just how big our presence and support for the hip-hop game & all real MC's is, even with small numbers, and the fact that more than half predominantly speak spanish just emphasizes those numbers even more. This is just someone trying to figure himself out and willing to step on his people to seek acceptance.... don't believe these false narratives. And as for using the N word it was not something that was done just because it was because we were brought into the culture that was already in place and that was how we all greeted one another whether right or wrong, and as far as Spic we have never used it as a positive title to one another that is why they would get offended. For me SPIC is a Spanish Person In Control

well, my teachers were black, Puerto Rican and Italian. they’re the ones that taught me everything since 81. What’s integral is that people need to understand that B boy is what really blew up hip-hop as a culture and not rap. Unfortunately, when it comes to understanding, most people refuse to take in the truth of what it really is. The minute you take out the hands that helped build it aside from the black members and pioneers , there isn’t much that is essential. The culture came together as a whole by the neighbored ethnicities and music from a variety of nationalities there isn’t much of a culture. Subcultures yes, and even The subcultures alone, really have nothing to do with. the term was really coined for the justification of a social-construct to benefit the person who coined it and his establishment, But like graffiti, has been around since the 20s and the architectural graff has actually been around since the 1800s. However, the media made everyone resemble what was shown so we get regurgitation of the culture as the package product as we do with all the rest of the elements which actually ruined the growth of the subcultures by labeling a culture. #graffitimouth #learNYCulture

Joell Ortiz is Black American by way of his Father who he never met I grew up with him in Cooper Projects they call me Shortz Da Don were like brothers even thou we don't speak anymore but in all honesty Joell wasn't raised in Latin culture that's why he appeals to a lot of Blk people because he grew up FBA. He started embracing his Puerto Rican roots to establish his name in Hip Hop and have the Latin support he doesn't speak Spanish go to Cooper and ask anybody who grew up with Joell they would tell u he wasn't raised Puerto Rican his step Father is FBA who still lives in the projects💙💙

But what I have found weird is that Latinos don’t get behind him and promote and push him forward. With the level of skill he displayed they should be 10 toes down for him all day. Figured Fat Joe would’ve gotten behind him. 🤔
