I have watched many videos on seat mods and this is the best because it is the simplist! Thanks!
Much appreciated 🙏 ☺️
Really didn’t wanna have to deal with installing a new seat, but this simple video gave me the motivation. It was so easy! Thank you
Yah, it was .
I recommend shimming up the front maybe though if possible
Thanks for Watching
Great modification for enhanced enjoyment and comfort!
Yes sir 👍🏻
Thanks Brandon
I did this mod today. I did a water test and this is great. It did not significantly affect the stability of my cheap fishing kayak. It puts you higher up for better visibility and casting.👍🏻
Yah 👊🏻
Glad it worked out for you
Hi from Syracuse NY brother thank you for sharing your adventures
Great idea and video. Has to be such a huge comfort addition to the Tamarack and enjoy days of paddling and fishing
Thank you Dave 😊
It works very well
Nice. I've used a folded up yoga mat for a seat. Works great
Awesome idea!
Just got one of these kayaks, didn't come with seat so this hack is perfect.
Thank-you
😁👍🏻 thanks
I have never someone skeet shoot a bow. That was pretty cool 👍
😁🤙
Awesome video man! I did this to my kayak and I ended up cutting the back bar out of it. Still supportive but doesn’t kill your back!
Right on 👍🏻
Appreciate it 🙏
Great hack. Would love to see you sitting in that seat in the water to see how the stability changed.
Solid as a rock 👍🏻 There's several videos out with me using it
Nice mod! (Can’t wait get fishing in my kayak, soon!) Great instructional video!
Thanks Vern ✋️
Me too
Thannk you so much! Best video yet, receiving this kayak very soon.
Right on 👍🏻
Thanks for the video! I'm modding mine today but I must say bro I have incredible balance and dexterity and there's no possible way I could stand up in my Tamarack and fish or shoot. So you need to make a video on that! I'm a new subber so I wanna see that as soon as you can. Lol😂
🤣👍
Great simple mod! Thanks for posting!
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
What a great video !!! Thank you !
I appreciate that Bob 🙏
Adding this to my list of projects! Great guide!
Right on 👍🏻
Great video. Every single other one I saw had people using the eye lit things and zip tying it. This is cheaper and I think better. Will do it tm!
Right on 👍🏻
Not sure im going to try the zip tie mine is a bit different if not then probably go with this idea thanks for the video
👍🏻right on
I will be doing this with my kayak, thank you!
Right on 👍🏻
This is rad. Definitely gonna see if this works on my pelican challenger. Thanks!
Hope it does 👍🏻
Share it if you liked it
Thanks man
Tried this but it made the kayak too unstable for my tastes. Center of gravity ended up too high. Thanks for the tutorial though it was helpful in doing my experiment.
Glad you appreciated it 👍
Nice! Definitely will be easier to get up I bet! 👍🏻
Oh yes 👍🏻
Thanks Chris 👊🏻🛶
Great idea....I also own the same craftsman drill bit set...😃
Thanks Kurt ✋️
I have know idea where I even got that set
Great mod. You're about to hit 6k. Congrats and keep it up.
Thank you and thank you 😊 🙏
Just did this to the exact same kayak, I’m not entirely sure if it’s just me but seems to affect stability quite a bit. Looking to see other people’s thoughts
I've had zero issues and even tested on 3 foot swells sideways and didn't tip. It just feels awkward at first.
Thanks for watching
Yea that was my worry I just got this seat haven’t installed it yet but hopefully I don’t tip over cause I’m kinda top heavy in the mid section 😂😂😂
Great 👍
Thank you 😊
FYI if u strip the screw holes use a combination of super glue and baking soda in the hole. Let it dry then re-drill the hole and screw. Brand new hole.
Good to know 👍🏻
Thank you 😊
Or just get a little bigger screw and be more careful next time.
Thank you for the info👍
Any rust near the conduit clamps? I know they're galvinized or zinc coated steel so one scratch and in Florida it'll rust quickly.
Yah, that probably wouldn't work down there. So far so good up here 👍🏻
Thanks for Watching
Thanks
🤙👊🏻
I’m getting this one or the one with the arm rest idk if arm rest are needed for kayak fishing
Great video, where did you get the seat from or what is it called?
Thank you 😊
Just a cheap stadium seat from Walmart
Very usefull vid.
Same seat i found.
Man bit thats about as high a center of gravity as one can get in a kayak. U waaaay up there.
Isnt that tipsy? No?
Do u find paddling & ergonomics easir higher up?
I agree with u. That seems like best seat out there. I like th hamock cushion.
Thank you
Yes, it works very well 😁
@@RiverbendlongbowsOutdoors ok prfect thanks
I already have a stadium seat and a drill... This might be happening
Yah man 👍🏻
Share It if you do
How's the balance after adding?
Great 👍
Great mod sir. What type/brand is that chair?
Thank you 😊
It's an Ozark trail stadium seat
How did it hold up over time
Very well actually 👌
Thanks for watching
Hey, great mod, whats the chair actually called and where is it purchased from please?
Thank you 😊
It's a stadium chair from Walmart
@@RiverbendlongbowsOutdoors Ok thank you.
Great video! Where did you get the velcro straps? Length? Thanks!
Thank you 😊
I found velcro at Menards, you can get any length. I believe these are 24"
Thanks for Watching
Have you done anchor trolley
nice idea but you didnt apply any waterproofing around the screw holes
Thanks Keith 😁
I've had zero issues so far.
Have a great day
Good, it was just something I caught.....I'm in the process of setting mine up
Little dab of seal sealer or silicone wouldn't hurt 🤷♂️
Good luck. Mines still holding strong
Did raising the seat up affect the stability while paddling ?
Not at all.
Thanks for Watching
How well has the seat itself held up
Very well actually 👌
Thanks for Watching
How is it on stability? Ive read where people pit these seats on and the kayak become unstable?
Never mind i seen your other vid lol! Im going to install one tomorrow!
Right on 👍🏻
How is the stability?
@@phil6844 well I've been through a lot lately but I'm hanging in there 🤓
Oh you meant the kayak 🤣
Great 👍
So it stays without nuts on the other side?
Yep, so far 👍🏻
im wondering were did you get that seat at thanks john b
It's just an Ozark Trail brand stadium Chair from Walmart.
Thanks for Watching
How’s the back comfort on the chair while kayaking? Does the metal bar dig into your back at all?
Not too bad.
Definitely shim the front up abit though.
You could always split a fun Noodle and zip tie over the rail if need be.
It doesn't bother me though.
Thanks for Watching
@@RiverbendlongbowsOutdoors After taking her out of her maiden voyage, the seat popped loose halfway through the float. The two front clamps bent up, allowing the seat to slide freely. Any tips to keep it mounted?
Bummer
The conduit clamps I used are a more Industrial strength. It would take an immense amount of pressure to bend them. I know the more home improvement style ones at big box hardware stores are not as strong. As long as screws stayed in place, I'd search for stronger clamps perhaps
Will the screws not pull through the plastic.
So far so good 👍🏻
So how has it held up after a year?
2nd year actually and very good 👍
That's great! I just bought two tandems and saw that same stadium seat at Walmart today and was thinking to myself man. I wish there was a way to attach that and then I see your video
@@justinh9747 good deal 👍
Hope it helps
bow in your intro is a recurve not a long bow, LOL
String doesn't touch the limbs ,so nope. Longbow
Thanks for Watching 👍🏻
I'm just can't make myself put a hole in my kayak without using a boat load of silicone.
😂😂😂😂
Im doing this asap...my seat is hard AF and you always get the itchy river ass
😂😂😂👍🏻
How long are the #12 screws?
I believe 1" but 3/4" would work .
Thanks for Watching
How stable is it afterwards?
Very stable.
If you watched my video from last August, I was taking on 2 foot waves and handled it great 👍🏻
Thanks for Watching
@@RiverbendlongbowsOutdoors I tried it out last week and forgot to add some shims under the front side. Boy was my back sore lol. Lesson learned and upgrade finished now. Thanks for the quality content.
@@leonardwitucke1 right on 👍🏻
