Everyone is upgrading to a stadium seat since you posted this video 3 years ago. Lifetime is using a modified version of your first stadium seat on the Pro. And that's the one I'm buying so a personal thanks from me. I've only been looking at a Tamarack for about a week. Merry Christmas you won big...
Other high end yaks have had the stadium style seat for some time now. My buddy got a tamarack a year ago and the first thing I thought was the seat needed an upgrade. Wasnt sure if a non proprietary seat would work as a drop in replacement.... and now we know! This is a great video though, confirms what i have been wondering if I should buy the teton or the tamarack
i guess Im asking randomly but does any of you know a tool to log back into an instagram account? I was stupid forgot the login password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me
@Jason Jonah Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site thru google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens ruclips.net/user/postUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.
I got my husband this Kayak and the same stadium seat for Father's day and he LOVED it! you're the real MVP! He is doing all the same upgrades, he is like a kid in a candy store. Thank you for the inspiration!
I saw your video and immediately placed an order. There weren't many options in stock. I bought a 2021 17" version. It fit my Tahoma kayak perfectly. Before, 2 hours was all I could stand on the water. I just got back from a 2 hour paddle with the new seat and my behind was doing fine. Enormous difference. I'd made 2 attempts at foam cushions. This is far better. Thank you for sharing.
I have to say, I made it to Costco yesterday and got a stadium seat for $19.99, and I put it on my tamarack, and it makes a huge difference! Credit to you sir!
I saw your first video and went to Costco the next day and purchased the stadium seat. Your a genius. It's fits like it made to be there and my ride was very comfortable. Plus, I have a comfortable seat for my fall FSU games. (Go Noles) I asked the manager if they still had the seats. He took me to them. I told him what I was doing. He too has this Lifetime kayak and said he'll have to don't he same thing. He also said I a wasn't the first to do this trick. So you started a trend in Knoxville TN... Thanks
Thanks, when the seat was first released at costco last year, I just wanted to experiment. checked online or on youtube to see if anyone has ever done it. Glad I was the first on RUclips at least
I just this year bought a tamarack angler. Omg I hated the seat! We tried a cheap soft stadium seat in my wife’s sit in a few years ago and it was just Meh. I saw a recent video using the ozark seat on a tamarack so I bought the $20 from Wally. I solid mounted it to the tamarack and tried it. It was just too high and had all the wrong angles. So I have now lastly seen this video and many others who copy you and got a cascade seat! Omg you have directly started a HUGE price increase!! They go for $60 now. I found one from Amazon warehouse for $36 and I’m super happy. Thanks to you!
Took ours out for 3 1/2 hours and my spine is in my eye. Bought the stadium seats and am going out for the first time with them in the morning. Install was super easy and fit was perfect. Great idea that I never would have thought of!
I am convinced they took this idea and ran with it excellent work brother and thank you for sharing your ideas really helps new comers or people on a budget or just misinformed much love from San Diego California 🔥
I will give you the credit. I purchased the Lifetime Tahoma kayak at walmart which is from the same footprint as your Tamarack. The only differences are it doesn't have the rear hatch access or rod holders. I rectified that and installed all of that. I also per your recommendation, bought the Cascade Mountain stadium seat and made it my kayak seat. And as you said " it is by far the best mod done to the kayak," and I have to say that I agree completely. I took it out on Tuesday and fished for four hours I wasn't the least bit fatigued. So thanks for your recommendation.
I own a Lifetime angler and after seeing your video, I purchased the same seat. Tried it yesterday and it is a great upgrade. Worked like a charm, thanks for the great idea.
Thanks for your suggestions. The stadium seat is a winner, for sure. My first outing w/out the stadium seat, I have the same yak as you Tamarack 10', I experienced some lower back pain. Since I got the seat I have no back pain. About the Garmin, I mounted my transducer inside the hull of my yak. I purchased the Garmin in-hull transducer mount($20 on Amazon). The trick is to fill the foam mount completely with water then insert the transducer. It will not work dry. And there is a temp readout - perhaps its off a bit and I haven't verified with another thermometer.
My first time Kayaking and this Kayak held strong. ruclips.net/user/postUgkx4k5UrhC3v_Y4hIEaXLGvHcN5a5aBmZNB The water got pretty rough as a speed boat zipped by me, and the Kayak withstood it (I expected to be capsized). The Ores are very easy to put together, the pump worked beautifully. the seats are a bit hard to sit in after a while (I recommend sitting on the floor). after reading the reviews I was very scared it'd get a hole in it, the material is very strong and durable. The Air valve may need a small Phillips head screwdriver to adjust, other than that, it's well worth the money!(update)I've gone Kayaking in 3 Lakes and 2 rivers totaling about 40 miles. the kayak had two holes and they patched easily and no other problems can't wait for kayaking season this year!
I'm giving you huge credit for the seat idea. As a multi level lumbar fusion patient this is a life changer. Not only just for fishing but just padding comfort. I was wondering if I was going to be able to keep this as a hobby. I think I'm set now
Nicely done! I got a stadium seat from Aldi and put it on my Lifetime kayak. You're right, it's the most important upgrade for this kind of kayak. Their original seats are awfully uncomfortable--but then again, the kayak was cheap and this is an easy fix!!!!
So I know this is an old video, but I finally took your advice and got a Cascade Mountain stadium seat, and BROTHER, let me tell you!!! The seat fits like a glove and my butt is very thankful for it. I will post a video of my kayak on my channel and hit you back so you can see the Outriggers that I built that allow me *250lbs* to stand and fish this boat with confidence. Thank you again for the information!
I now have a blueprint thanks to you, cuz! I just bought a Lifetime Tahoma and the first mod going in is the stadium seat! All about Pinoy ingenuity! Way to go, Kuya! Killing it bro.
@@MOBBINOutdoors I got the same yak late last year. I saved your video for reference when i do my upgrades. My seat will be arriving tomorrow. I didn't know you are pinoy. 🤣 I am too. Proud of you pare. Mabuhay ka!
Hey Mobbin, thanks for the tip on the stadium seat, that seat is the BOMB! i did a review on my Tamarack and gave you the credit for the seat. Thanks again
So glad you posted this! I watched your video and immediately went to Costco. This seat works great in the Tamarack, almost as if it were designed for it. Thanks!

Yep! Costco.. ! Someone shared your hack video in a FaceBook group..as soon as we watched it we were on our way to Costco..the stadium seat fit perfectly and comfortably..next up will be making the crate! Happy Fishing/Kayaking!
+2 Idid a lot of research and a buddy of mine and myself ordered this kayak and the stadium seat. everything is in the mail now. thank you for sharing. im planning on going all out with mine and rigging up an old trolling motor i have kicking around. and a couple outriggers. probably a radio..
I bought one of these seats because I already needed a stadium seat. I used it today in my Perception Pescador. It worked alright. It raised the center of gravity, of course, and took a little while to get used to. Mine wouldn't go as far back as yours so it also shifted my weight a little forward. It relieved the tailbone pressure and kept the blood flowing to my feet. Overall I'd give it a B.
For all of yal waiting for your kayaks from Walmart I ordered mine on the 22 of June it came in on the 6 of July. They said they were saling so many they couldn't keep them in stock. Oh and nice mod I'm thanking about doing the same thing.
Sam W. so I received a tip that if Walmart has it in stock at their store. Ask for the manager to sell it to you on the price that is on their website. Which is like $220. They should be able to do it. Good luck
We are buying 2 of these Yaks from Wally World. When I saw the seats in them I was like, oh hell no! So we were looking at Stadium seats and wondering if they would work or not. I'm glad to see your idea, as well as my idea, are exactly the same and it will work!! Thank you very much for the upload!
Thanks for sharing your upgrades that you did I just got my tamarack the other day and went out on it everything went well but I was trying to figure out what I was going to do about the seat so I will be getting me a stadium seat there from Costco and set me up a crate in the back much appreciation for sharing!
Instead of the tray I use small tackle boxes that I can put lures, plastic baits and terminal tackle in depending on the fishing conditions. My pfd is a fishing type vest and has tons of pockets so I keep my pliers, knife, fish grips, scale and phone in.
I went cheap and bought the Tioga. I was thinking about upgrading to the Teton pro 116, but I figure this is cheaper and better. I'll save up for next year. Thanks Mobbin
Thanks for the info but it wasn't in stock anywhere close so I stuck it out and waited for it to come in. It was a week late but worth the wait. I fished out of it for 5 hours Monday and your deffenatly right about the seat. That will be my next mod and by the way great detailed video.
I ran a minnkota 30 last spring, this spring I upgraded to a traxxis 45. It runs by pulse, therefore not draining the lithium battery. I’m having the shaft cut down to 28 inches.
Hey Mobbin, I have this same Kayak. I upgraded my seat as well. Look this seat up, and you can find at Bass pro, and Wal-Mart. (Padded Flip-Up Seat, Green Camouflage)I think at Wal-Mart the price was $39. This seat will fit perfect and level. I drilled a hole on the left and right side of the seat even with the eyelets of the kayak. What I did was zipped tied to those eyelets, and in the center of the back of the seat, I put a 1x1 L bracket with 2 screws. What I'm looking to do now is get a little more height. Thinking about 4 inches off the Kayak.
awesome video, I live 5 miles from Folsom Lake and fish there also too. definitely going to buy this kayak and do these upgrades. hope to see you out there sometime, tight lines
I just got this kayak a month ago and just ordered the same stadium seat, garmin striker 4, so CREDIT GOES TO YOU lol. Looking forward to trying the new seat. Although my lifetime Tamarack the rod holder doesnt go all the way through its closed off might have to drill through it wish me luck!
Thanks for uploading👍🏻 I'm going to purchase the Tahoma model, which looks like the same yak without the extra hatch and rod holders. The seat looks like a good fit. I'm ordering one soon. I like the Lime green color because I'll be more visible.
Mobbin Outdoors I use a soft sided cooler w/a plastic shell insert for a "Crate" that I put tackle inside. It has a vacuum type sealed lid-Keeps everything water tight. I mounted 3 rod holders on the back of the cooler. I like the minimalist approach😀
Stadium Seat, H2O anchor trolley, did them all and will do tray. Thanks. Would help to be more detailed on anchor trolley. On retractable clothesline, if it gets away from you like it did from me, drill a 1/2 to 1 inch hole at the clothesline connector point to the tension spool. Can also be used to connect the para-cord directly to the spool rather than trying to connect para cord to the rubber clothesline.
Great idea, i'm very tall and desperately need to elevate my seat as after an hour my leg goes numb which is really annoying. What else is annoying is how cheap everything is across the water in the U S, over here in the UK that seat would be double that price and more. Great work, i've just subscribed. 👍
You should do an update video explaining the differences between a kayak like this and your titan. Alot of new kayak anglers will find this video and immediately buy a Wal-Mart kayak while not researching other boats.
LOL definitely orange vs apples. $300 vs $2500. The tamarack is a good entry level kayak and I have so much respect for it. It’s the number one entry level kayak I would recommend if someone just wants to get into the sport. Now, if someone wants to immediately jump into the tourney scene with a pedal driven kayak. Titan hands down! But you have given me an idea on discussion my past kayak ownerships. I think that’s a worthy subject to discuss! Have a good one
Nice upgrade ideas! I have this same kayak. One my main critiques is the flimsy seat back in it and that stadium seat seems like a good solution. I'll probably try that out as well as the velcro tray.
Check out my recent update videos on my kayak. I have now bolted the tray on my cover because I was more rough on the tray then I expected. Also, the seat has been really good to me. I literally fish for 5 hours straight in totally comfort! Thanks for viewin and subcribe to my next updates on the yak
King Kong yes it is! It just doesn't have the extra storage lid in the back and no rod holders. Minus those features, it's the same exact thing. You can make your own rod holders with a DYI fishing Crate! Cheers!
I’m buying the same kayak from tractor supply for 299. Just order a cascade seat from eBay for 20.00 thanks!! Great video I’m going to set my boat up like your…👍👍👍👍👍
I just got a seat similar to that on Amazon (maybe the same one?) for $19.99 and popped it into my Tamarack. Feels great! Mine moves around and I’m trying to decide whether I want to borrow your bungee idea, or actually bolt it in. I also have some small trays like yours, which I hold to the hatch covers with the included bungees, but I like your Velcro idea! The design of my hatches is flat, so it’s actually really solid with just the bungees. I’ve got a few more mods I plan to do to mine too but I’ll be sure to shout you out in my video when it’s ready 😀👍🏼
try using your seat in the water and if it really moves around, then secure it. Im convinced that you may not need to secure it since a lot of others are using the same amazon stadium seat without any issues. Thanks for chiming in!
Nice job on adding the stadium seat. But I would think (just incase of an unexpected flipover) wouldn't it be better to mount permanently or better yet permanently with like an quick release type of mounting?
Also, exactly what is that you have down inside the scupper-holes?? That's pretty interesting. And we're big guys, so we were worried about water pouring in on us through them while we were out yakking.

Love video man thank you. I got mine last fall and have been using it this year big time! Been looking for soon good upgrades. Thanks 😊
Beautifully fantastic seat upgrade
I see this all the time . As soon as get my kayak a seat upgrade is going to happen .
jvrt64 wow I didn't realize the price difference across the seas. Nice to have a sub there as well! Thanks
Same thing I use. We'll not the same brand. But a stadium seat I got from goodwill
Mobbin Outdoors For sure. Make sure to sub me back!
just did!
Love your seat upgrade! Clever... will be adding this to mine! 👍
awesome kayak video, keep them coming. im going to costco 1st thing tomorrow morning
thanks for viewing!
I have a Triton angler 100 an the same seat I can't wait to try this
What’s up man. You just saw me and my buddy crossing the street in front of your place. You got my sub
John Luna nice!!! Hope to run into you guys again!
Awesome idea!!!! Loving the seat upgrade!!!
I bought one off Amazon after seeing your video. Thanks for sharing.
Has anyone that used this permanently mounted it?
Going to have to try this! Thank you so much
Great upgrade! Thanks for sharing!
thanks man!
Thanks for sharing. I bought the same seat and same yak. Well it's the Tahoma but it's pretty much the exact same yak
Great video I’m going to set my boat up like your…👍👍👍👍👍
Think I’m gona rig up a cutting board tray combo I do like the upgrades my friend
Thanks Bro. I will mention you when I show my build Video. I just got this Kayak yesterday Any suggestions bro 🤙🏽🤙🏽
MOBBIN Outdoors you’re probably right! I’m gonna try bungee first.
Love the seat upgrade. My seat sucks
Thanks for the idea!!! I'm looking for simple upgrades and I will definitely be using your idea!
Sold out almost everywhere... but i managed to find one.
great idea, fits like a glove
Good mods. I will do this on my kayak.
Nice job on adding the stadium seat. But I would think (just incase of an unexpected flipover) wouldn't it be better to mount permanently or better yet permanently with like an quick release type of mounting?
I’ve been thinking about a seat upgrade since I got it. I have a seat exactly the same.
Thank you!!!! Keeping it simple
Just got my kayak and will be getting the stadium seat from Costco, and crate , bungee cords from Target.
Stellar upgrades. Props!
Thanks for that mate, was a great video
Great video !The seat upgrade was a great idea. What is the length of the bungee cord that you used to secure the seat in the Kayak? Thanks again.
Gonna do this when I get mine.
Badass dude! I got the same thing! Thanks, Bud!
Nice seat hack 👌 👍
Awesome 👍I need to get a kayak but I don’t know which to get and how to ride it.
i see that both seat sizes will fit. which one is shown in the garage?
Nice video, you should have put a link for the seat, just my two cents.
For those seeking this same seat, Costco has them on sale now til 7/7/2019 for $16.99. Just got mine.
Thanks for sharing, looks like the tariffs are increasing the price. Still a great deal
Im going to order one of those seats! Thanks man.
Is it a 17 or a 20? I know u say both with work, but I figure one will fit better.
the tray in the middle is great... I have one also
thanks for the great innovative idea. How has it held up scratch/dent wise? i just ordered one, a little worried about it on warmer days, thanks!
the seat * that is
Also, exactly what is that you have down inside the scupper-holes?? That's pretty interesting. And we're big guys, so we were worried about water pouring in on us through them while we were out yakking.
Golf balls to prevent water coming up from
The holes
@@MOBBINOutdoors Right on. Thanks for the reply!!
