You can't own a trademark to a person's name.

@@shrimpflea yes you can when its not their real name, for example WWE own “The Rock” and Marvel Comics own “Hulk Hogan” and the singer Sting isnt his real name so when he left the band the police and wanted to release an album under the name “Sting” he didn’t have the copyright trademark rights so he then needed to get permission from Steve Borden who owned the rights to the trademarked name “Sting” he still has to pay him royalties every quarter still to this day. So for example someone can’t just call themselves “the rock” and then just release an album under the name “the rock” because someone has already trademarked that name. David Bowie had this problem too, as his real name was David Jones but he couldn’t release albums under that name because their already was an entertainer who who trademarked the name “David Jones” so bowie ended up having to call himself David “Bowie” instead.
