- Wow. This was my first introduction into metalcore.
In this video I reacted to killswitch engage. I really enjoyed this group and would love to know more about metalcore and groups similar to this one.

I really like it when people who arent Metal fans actually listen to a Metal song with an open mind, like this guy just did. He didnt immediately dismiss it when right at the beginning the song starts off with screams. The beauty and the beast style vocals (screams mixed with cleans) takes getting used to, personally, as a Metal fan, i dont mind the screams but prefer clean vocals. This singer, Howard Jones is incredible at both. This reactor was very open minded and fair in his assessment. Would be interesting to see him react to a Sevendust video.... same genre, less screams basically. Theres many other bands that lean more toward clean vocals, that might be better for a first time listener to Metalcore.
Killswitch Engage - Reject Yourself. But honestly, you should listen through the whole As Daylight Dies album for your own sake. It’s full of bangers, hard to pick out a single song.

Reject yourself, break the silence, and for you were my all time favorites, but yes, I love every single song from that album hands down

Howard is one of my favorite metal singers, he wrote this song after losing his mother and it deeply hurt him as it would most people. The product of all that pain and his love for her is this song, thank you for doing a review of this song, it's one of my favorite of when Howard was with them.

Killswitch Engage's most popular song is probably End of Heartache so you should definitely check that out. Also please react to a band called Fightstar. They're not metalcore, but post-hardcore. One of the UK's most underrated bands imo
Killswitch Engage are my favourite band and I agree that’s one of their most known songs, can totally agree with you about fightstar mate. Was never too keen on a lot of post hardcore but saw fightstar at Liverpool on a freebie lol was impressed by them live and started checking them out, totally underrated band!

@@quangorrchi5519 What I meant is they're not considered metalcore. They do have a few metalcore songs, like Deathcar, Sink with the Snakes, and Animal. They're a great band with an eclectic sound no matter what genre you class them as.

Fightstar is underrated af, especially considering Charlie Simpson’s music history.
The singer howard in this video is no longer in the band the original singer jesse is back in the band. I love both versions of this band.

Honestly miss Howard. I know it’s a rare opinion but I felt more emotionally connected to his lyrics, doesn’t sound like the positive message is as “forced” if that makes sense.
KSE is amazing. They are very melodic. Not everything they do is this high energy.

First time i ever really listened to this was eerily right after my aunt passed away and her name was Sharon. Brought a sense of levity to the song and made me love it even more

One of the reasons KSE is one of my fav bands is that as heavy as they are, their lyrics are very positive and uplifting.
Hard to go wrong with Killswitch. Try a song with Jesse as frontman. I recommend Hate By Design or Last Serenade. For more Howard: The End of Heartache, My Curse, their cover of Dio's Holy Diver, or Fixation on the Darkness (the album version is Jesse but there is a video for it with Howard if you can find it)

One of my favorite bands! Thank you for an Awesome video. My recommendation for future Killswitch Engage songs are - Reject Yourself (w/lyrics), Always (official music video), Save Me (w/lyrics - not the music video, it takes away from the music), and Beyond the Flames (w/lyrics). Also try some In Flames! They are my favorite band!
Everything off Alive or Just Breathing is something worth your time. One of the greatest albums ever made.

Howard Jones is one of the most amazing vocalists to ever fucking do it. I am not taking anything away from the band itself, those guys are extremely talented.
With that said, Howard isn't appreciated as much as he should be. His range and all the different styles he can do. Absolutely beautiful to absolutely brutal, doesn't matter. I haven't disliked anything this band has put out when Howard was the lead, he is just one of those special talents that come along once in a generation. I mean that.
Look up the lyrics. It’s deep. I listened to this song so much after my grandpa died. It’s a very powerful song.

You definitely need to check out killswitch engage - my last serenade. You also need to check out bullet for my valentine, trivium, all that remains, as I lay dying, the amity affliction, August burns red, devil wears prada, underoath, fit for a king, parkway drive, architects (I really suggest you check them out). Once you go down this path it will be hard to go back.

The "New" singer is actually the original singer. Howard replaced him and then left because of medical reasons and then Jesse (the original singer) came back

Open your mind my friend. Give it more then a casual listen. I too love Howard, but he is gone... for now. The band is still the same,but with the original singer. Jesse is not Howard, but his melodies, screams, and lyrics are still amazing. Ask yourself this... if Howard was never part of the band, what would you think of the last two albums. My bet is most people would enjoy them. Much love!
