    I have a 2000.5 Club Car DS. I’m trying to replace the rear shocks but can’t find a tool or socket to fit on the shaft to keep it from turning. I purchased one socket but it only fits the new shocks.

    Great info Dave just a thought is it ok to oil or grease the springs etc on the cart or what can you do to prevent shocks, springs etc to wear out?

    • @GolfCartGarage
      @GolfCartGarage  Год назад

      Thanks for watching, Ben! I don't think there is really anything you can do to prevent shocks and springs from wearing out besides holding the rust to a minimum by keeping them clean and dry as possible. And about the only thing I do to bushings is use WD-40 if they are squeaking or making noise. Some lift kits have grease fittings on the spindles. Otherwise, parts like that always wear out over time, just keep an eye on it. Let us know if you need help or have more questions! Support@GolfCartGarage.com or (800) 401-2934

      @@GolfCartGarage Thanks for the reply They say that you should oil up the springs on your garage door so I just thought that you could do the same on the golf cart springs Thanks again you always give great info

    I got a 15 par cart. Everyone thinks it outdated, junk and obsolete and I should trade it in for a new 30k EZGO😂😂😂
    I'm like dude..it still looks fairly brand new. Just because the manufacturer went out of business doesn't mean it's junk. At the end of the day, it's just a golf cart.

      Thanks for watching! We definitely agree, an operational cart is the main thing. That said, there may come a time when parts are difficult to find for a discontinued model, maybe requiring some fabrication or a trade in. But, if it works, that's all that matters in the end!

    Dave, I bought a 2004 club car carry all. I put Jake’s 3” lift and new rims and tires. I don’t remember how it handles before the lift but my kidneys fall out whenever I go over a bumpy road. Are there special leaf springs for lifted carts to give a smooth ride or am I just stuck with this? Thanks. Great videos.

      Thanks for watching! It may help to lower the tire air pressure a bit and experiment to see how the ride softens. Those 3" lift kits can lead to a suspension feel change. If there are Carry All leaf springs that are parabolic or softer, they will likely only be available through Club Car directly. let us know if you need more help! I have a 2011 Yamaha gas cart and it rides like it has no suspension. I keep the tires at 15# for tire wear and the new shocks for it are horribley expensive. (very specialized) Is it possible my shocks have stiffened up or will the new shocks give me the same ride and I'd be wasting my money?

    • @GolfCartGarage
      @GolfCartGarage  2 месяца назад

      Thanks for watching, Ken! Yamaha ride can sometimes be tricky since they don't have leaf springs like the domestic carts do. We'll have some follow up questions on the cart and shocks. You can get an appt for a video call diagnosis here: www.golfcartgarage.com/gearheads-on-demand/

    How about 6 or 8 wheels

    • @GolfCartGarage
      @GolfCartGarage  Год назад

      Sizing down the wheels for a larger sidewall on the tire is a great way to get improved ride comfort. The more rubber on the road, the better!

      @@GolfCartGarage Here is a thing i write up to post on some forums.........................................I dont have any parts yet.
      Except a dream to make the smoothest riding golfcart possible.
      I know I need a longer wheel base.
      Do extension kits get the wheel base to the same length as a 6 seater?
      It sounds like I need independent suspension along with long travel lift kits.
      Possibly cv axles in the rear.
      Yes, small rims tall sidewalls and even wider tires. I don't care what they look like.
      What older machine do you recommend I modify?
      Here s a link to and Argo machine . It comes with 6 or 8 wheels. The front and rear wheels are slightly raised, rocker like a canoe for more maneuverability. I link all wheels are drive wheels. Steers like a tank. No suspension. This is not how I plan my cart to steer.
      Google Image Result for silodrome.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Argo-Frontier-650.jpg
      I would love to have 4 wheels up front and 4 in the back. The extra wheels dont need to be as large as the others. But have some sort of suspension. Or like spring loaded castor wheels.
      Go to the 1:50 mark for an idea for extra wheels to smooth out ride. Where the height adjustment is to the right of the silver bolt. Add a spring in there ruclips.net/video/iOf1fuRAzok/видео.htmlsi=zxByYptvdYYq1mEr
      Hub motors are a possibility
      definitely electric.
      Possibly two rotating seats up front on springs.
      If I were to buy a 6 seater. I would take off the rear rack and rear seats and mount the clubs there, In front of the rear wheels.
      I would love any help you can give.
