This is really cute and I love your vibe, just so chill and relaxing! Your art is so cool my fave is the guy in the top left at 10:41 Black Trumpet I think? Anyways definitely subscribed! Also love your gloves! I’ve been trying to find ones just like that lol.
I’m not an expert in gouache or even kind of okay at it, but what I would recommend is adding a teensy bit of water, not a whole lot because it gets to be like crappy watercolors like you said. For me what I found works is using kind of a large amount of paint when doing the darkest layer. I would wait for layers to dry before adding other layers, unless you want to blend them while they’re wet. And also cleaning off you brush after using colors so it doesn’t look super muddy. And I add white to all my colors kind of to soften it up? It does dry very dark so I would just recommend just going in with a lighter color so it will dry to be the color you want (if that makes sense 😰) Sorry if this wasn’t helpful at all haha.
I fell asleep and youtube automatic reproduction led me to this video and I have to say I was very surprised when I saw your channel! From your video I thought you were a “big” RUclipsr I have never heard of but you have 600 subscribers???? Your art is amazing and so underrated omg😭 instantly subscribed
Hi! Came across this video and liked it, so I subscribed! I'm trying to teach myself art this year, and I really enjoyed this video! Can't wait to see more!💕
I feel like gouache wouldn’t necessarily change your art style completely but it would change the texture and technique in some ways, since it is such a difference from watercolours. But also I’ve never tried it 😂 so I may be wrong
I love working in gouache but it is kind of a difficult medium and yet forgiving. What I have done before is that I start with a flat color but very diluted gouache that it feels as if working with watercolor and then continue working in layers but each time working with a little bit more paint than water since gouache can re-activate.
Hello! I just started watching your videos, your very underrated with the most unique style I've seen, btw my cat also says hi! Also gonna make some little unique fungi species! *Gasp* *clicks the subscribe button* there we go!
Btw here are the species/animals I'm gonna do: Birds/Avians, Felines, Canines, Saurians/Dinosaurs, Reptiles, Equus/Horses/Zebras/Donkeys/etc, Amphibians, and lastly Bovidae/Cattle. Random Fun fact: I LOVE Chickens so I decided to mix a Chicken x Bleeding Fairy helmet mushroom = Bleeding fairy chicken!!
I am quite sure the quality of your guache might be off. Watered up, it should have the same qualities as watercolor, not as grainy as here. By the way i use it to intensify the color of my watercolor paintings, i use it for details, or if i have to get big areas to dark colors. But also painting with just guache (if the quality is right) will give you the same but more vivid than watercolors. Just try some different ones, or a good quality acril paint.
oh!! i believe the paints i used here were winsor and newton’s designers gauche (thats what makes up nearly all of my palette) which i took to be a very good brand! if you have other recommendations to try maybe i can get them :) Ive practiced more since this video and have a better hang of them now tho so i think it was just user error haha
