It was my first time making biryani and I'm an American it tasted so good that I will not buy from the restaurant anymore! I am making it again today! Thank you for your explanation it really helped me make a good one instead of just providing the measurements of the ingredients.
I just made this and boy oh boy was this the best thing I discovered yet. My wife went to her mums and needed to cook asap after work. Followed the steps with a little twist of my own and it was amazing to say the least. Thank u so much for your amazing recipes keep them coming especially pressure cooker ones
Works great if you pay attention to instructions. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxviiltW7NlHbp_VL_bLbIkbLAvILVhnia For those that complain about "mushy" or "wet" rice I suspect they are using the included cup to measure rice (which is really only 3/4 cup) and then putting in water using a separate measuring cup that is a full cup. This results in too much water and you will get mushy or wet rice and think it is not done. Just use the included cup for both rice and water, or your own measuring cup for rice and water according to your package directions. It will come out fine. I've used mine for years for brown and white rice. If your machine is bubbling white froth out of the steam vent then it means you should have rinsed your brand of rice first to remove some of the starch. Sheesh. Makes me wonder how people can cook well enough to feed themselves.
Thank you so much 🙏🙂for your kind feedback. As far as nuts & raisins they are not a must, most mild North Indian style biryani / Pulao's usually include, but it's a no no for South Indian style 🙂
Hello! I tried with basmati rice. Soaked as advice. Followed all your steps. But I got confused at the final part. After the first whistle, I did turn the stove to the most smallest flame. But within five minutes. I heard the second whistle. I didn’t know what to do. I pull off the whistle and let it slow cook like you said for total 10 mins without the whistle head. But at the end my briyani was overcooked. But the taste was really good and very flavourful . May I know how do I adjust my cooking time for the briyani? Please advice ❤
I am using Prestige Nakshatra Svachh 3L cooker😊 earlier I followed how you did. Two cups rice to three cups water. Now when I checked the manual book it says two cups basmati rice with two cups water. Maybe if I do that adjustment. I can do it better. Do let me know your opinion too on how I can improvise the texture.
Hello🙏thanks for giving it a try. Coming to the question, normally the first whistle will happen within the first 5 minutes. The second whistle shouldn't happen, as the pressure needs to be built. In your case, not sure how that happened on a low flame setting. Anyways, if that happens, just turn off the flame right away. Do not remove the weight or open. Let the pressure settle naturally and then open the lid. The rice should be cooked to the right texture. Hope this helps!
@@kivishnadewibalachandran3723 mine is prestige too but the above is cooked in a 5 L cooker and there is more room. For 3l max should be 1 and cups of raw rice, adding more will press the rice to the bottom and it will turn out mushy. Guess that's what happened.
I shared the recipe with my mum too. She also loved it a lot! 🫰🏽😎😇 I will definitely try the recipe again soon and try to adjust the cooking time. 👌🏽🥰 thanks for answering my queries
Yes, the chicken should be about 90% cooked before adding rice and water. The rice is set to cook for only 5 minutes, hence make sure to cook the chicken. Thanks!
I have prepared soya chunks pulao in 3.5 ltrs steel pressure cooker.using 1and 1/4 cup of rice . The rice was cooked well but the rice at the bottom portion was little burnt . What may be the reason?? I took one whistle at high flame and 2 nd whistle at low flame.
Soy chunks don't release water like chicken, hence the water measure has to be adjusted accordingly. Every rice brand absorbs water differently, soaking time, water measure and also flame size everything matters. One whistle and slow cooking for 10 min is what I follow and the rice never burns or stick to the bottom.
For the love of christ. Dont put this much water you have completely ruined the biriyani for me.. its a bad recipe.. dont ise this much water my whole biriyani is in dustbin...
If you do it right, it will turn out good. For 2 cups of rice, that's the right measure. Adding less water will make the rice stick to the bottom of the pan🙏 Sorry that it didn't work for you!
