This is wonderful and I'm going to apply it in my data analysis. Excellent work. Keep it up Sir.
Nice information and presentation as well....new commer will also understand with the help of your presentation... thanks for sharing!!!!!
Nice combination of techniques!
Tremendous work...
Good morning.
Excellent explanation and teaching of Blinking Cells and it will happen in Excel we never thought , Excellent Task ✌
Wonderful.. Tricks.. Thank you Sir.
Never thought that this will happen in Excel. Fantabulous and hats off to you. Excellent explanation and teaching. Felt that you are in front of me. Definitely, it will help me in my other dashboard for an alert. Learn a lot of things...
What a nice and motivating comment... Thank you... Truly appreciated
A very clear, nicely paced presentation. I look forward to more of them.
Awesome presentation and helpful too.💙
You are amazing. Thanks indeed Nabil for all your valuable efforts.
Thank you for the nice words
I never thought about this.. excellent tutorial
Glad you enjoyed it
Great job!. It's fun. Will of course apply this to my work :)
When I tested, it got error at Worksheet Change said that it expects to call Variable or Procedure, not Module (BlinkCell). Any hint? thanks
One thing I'd do about cell D1. Add a macro button over it, with a text, such as "Stop Blinking." The macro attached to the button would type the "1" for you. That way, all you need to do is use your mouse to click on the button instead of going to D1, typing in a "1" and then hitting enter. You could even add a macro if statement to it, saying if there is a 1 already there, to delete it. So you can go back and forth.
Excellent work sir, please launch more videos on macros
Great Work ! Very rare knowledge
Brilliant!
Really amazing... Done a fantastic code
Thank you
Best wishes n good health.
TC Mr. Nabil.
U need to be preserved so that u keep making excellent videos.
i will keep doing my best for my wonderful followers
Great video. I would recommend to your viewers to use a named range for your totals comparison cells so as transactions are added the code would still work.
Thank you Rick for the recommendation
Amazing trick. 👏 Thank you Nabil 😊
Glad you liked it
One of the best video ever seen on Excel topic.
I appreciate your nice comment... My followers deserve the best
Thank you for this extremely useful tip.
Glad you found value in it
Beyond amazing...and guess what? I haven't watched the entire vid yet. Nabil's vids are always out of this world!
I'm thrilled from your comment... Thank You Stacy
Nice explanation.... Great
Great video! Liked how you explained the built of the VBA code. Could we use a key combination which would be recorded by excel to stop / re-enable the blinking (or any other macro), not typing 1 etc? like ctrl-break?
Subscribed and bell clicked! Keep it up :)
Hi? In case i have two or more independent cells how can I ensure they blink according to given condition independently?
Awesome logic
Excellent video sir.
Thank you
Excellent Sir !!!
You are most welcome
Thank you
Superb Mr Muraad ...Thanks 👌🙏
I'm happy you liked it
Great!
Many thanks
You are welcome

Voww.. How nice and simply you presented this tutorial. Enjoyed it.
Thank you!
Thank you
This is very helpful sir, how to resume again blinking again of "H1" if you delete number 1 on "D1"?? thanks
this is cool
Many thanks, Sir,, from Sal from Amman - Jordan
Would you know how to do this?
Column A is a previous total
Colum B is the new total
If the value in the adjacent cell in Column B to Column A is lower, highlight red.
I need it for the whole range i.e. B1:B52 however has to also be if A1>B1 Red, if
A2>B2 Red, etc etc
I tried manually doing the conditional formatting and when I use the sort option, the formatting doesn't keep the rules, it changes the formulas
Excellent
Thank you so much 😀
Thank you for the video. One question please!:
When I execute the code and change any number and start the blink, I see the pointer of mouse in "mode hibernation". Thats possible the state of the pointer of mouse normal?
Thank you!!
The reason is, you are using Excel as usual while a code is continuously running in the background... and that slows Excel. This kind of functionality is more "Showy" than "Practical"
Thank you. Liked and Subbed.
If my sheet is protected then what I need to add in vba script.
Wonder full video. May i know which software are you using to create this video?
Camtasia
How did this work without saving the file as xlsm?
Awesome
Thank you
Way of presentation and voice quality are excellent..
Thank you... The Best Is Yet To Come
@@Officeinstructor Does the recent announcement from Microsoft about VB is also applicable to VBA also ? Please guide about the future of VBA.
Nice video blinking. Please made video blinking sheet name wise. For daybook with on/off button. Cell A1,g7,E3,c4 blink.
Brilliant. Also the animation is pretty good. Can you tell me what is the tool you used for the animation.
Thank you.
For animation I only use PowerPoint. For recording I use Camtasia Studio
What a great idea. Very well done Mr. Nabil. 👍👌👌
Thank you my loyal friend
Cant copy the code, it requires memberships
@@Mitr2u Membership is a click away... it's totally Free
Great sir.. concept is good.. your video animations is attractive.. can you plz guide me how to add animation in video
I use PowerPoint and Camtasia Studio
How can I apply this to long data set, like I want to use this in employee probation period expired or not...
Definitely NOT recommended... this code is more Showy (To impress your boss) than practical as it slows Excel
Thank you sir
Thank you for the video!! Please could you explain If Not Application.Intersect(Target, Range("B5:E19")) Is Nothing Then
When you modify a cell or a range somehow, the event will be called and Target is a reference to the modified range.
Application.Intersect checks if there are some cells in common between two ranges. In this case Target (the one that you just modified) and B5:E19 (which is the range we'd like to monitor).
Let's check scenario 1: you modify a cell inside B5:E19 range. In that case, Application.Intersect will return a range of cells that are in common between cells you just modified and B5:E19.
Scenario 2: this time you modify a cell outside B5:E19 range. Application.Intersect will return Nothing, which is a kind of empty object.
For the execution of our macro, we are interested in scenario 1, but actually the outcome of scenario 2 is a fixed value "Nothing", which is easier to track down.
So instead of checking "did I click inside the range" (in which case the return of Application.Intersect would be unclear and we would have trouble setting the if conditional), we check for "did I NOT click OUTSIDE the range" (Application.Intersect returns Nothing if we click outside, and we use Not to discard all the clicks "outside" that return Nothing, and use all the other ones).
That's a wonderful explanation... Thank you .
Thank you for the video. But just one problem. In executing the code, my VBA editor keeps flagging "Set CellToBlink = Range ("H1")" as being incorrect. I'll appreciate any help on this, sir.
Try again
hi i want making data entry for company
This is a great tutorial however .... The website, code and sheet can't be downloaded or don't work. And the code works but hangs - it's in some never ending loop I guess but I am not good enough to get it to stop. Very frustrating!
My cell remains orange coloured if i close my editor. Do i have to keep the editor running/minimized everytime i open the file to keep the code running?
That's weird... Closing the VB editor should not affect the functionality
I was so disappointed watching this video. Oh, it is a wonderfully done video, full of excellent information and I could even understand the logic of what you are doing. But I was hoping you were going to explain some hidden magic that would let me make a blinking cell using just the choices within the Excel conditional formatting function, without using VBA. I guess I'll just have to finally force myself to learn VBA. Thanks for the great video. Upvoted.
Thank you Douglas for the comment... I agree that any solution without VBA will benefit more users since not everyone is using VBA. However, when you have hundreds of thousands of viewers, and many of them are advanced users, SOME of the tutorials are dedicated to VBA curious users. The exercise files have been downloaded over 35000 times from my website in one week of posting ... Isn't that an indicator?
If I don't like SUCHI...it doesn't mean it should be banned.
In life, it is IMPOSSIBLE to make everyone HAPPY although I wish... and, TRUST me I do my best
Can I get the VBA Code used
Read the video description
Hi Sir this codeing is verygood but when i applied .the cursor is constantly spinning..means getting slow.Plz suggest
That's normal because a macro is running while you use Excel
I do this in a lot fewer steps.. no coding... Conditional formatting, time function and a hidden collumn
Great Rjo... It will be good to share your concept so everyone can benefit.... The goal of this channel is to share our knowledge
@@Officeinstructor if your goal is to share your knowledge why you dont share code.because im a new in vba and with the video i didnt succes. i dont know whats wrong.
how to copy
So what do you do if Alt + F11 does nothing? Version 2002
Time to upgrade my friend... we are in 2020 (just different order of digits from 2002)
The solution works, but the UX, at least for me, is kinda lackluster. The cursor keeps cycling between the "busy" graphic and the regular cursor as long as the while loop is going. The DoEvents parameter makes it possible to edit values while it's running, but the cursor is kinda janky and laggy, making it feel like the spreadsheet is lagging or hanging.
Dear Officeinstructor
Thanks for this excellent explanation
I tried to register on your site more than once but I was unable to enter the registration page
And every time a blank page appears and there is nothing. Thanks again and please solve this problem
Thank you for the nice comment.
I added a different download link to the video description. You can use it until I fix the broken link
Wow
Can not download the code please
I want to flash multiple cell , how i can do this
You need to modify the code but I do not recommend that as it slows the performance
How can apply this to a large number of cells?
Not recommended... This functionality can only be used sparingly as it slows Excel performance
So VBA this wont worked out right
Can We reduce the wait time further less than one second? Is that possible?
No
@@Officeinstructor okay thanks for ur reply😊

Nope, Pay n Get

where is vba code
How can I apply this blinking cell formatting to the cell without condition.
Not recommended as it will slow Excel enormously
I went to www.see-how.ca/blinking...but I couldn't sign up to become a member. The screen kept showing a blinking diamond in the middle and nothing else.
In other words, I couldn't download the exercise file. Any help is appreciated.

In what world is this conditional formatting?
im problem pressing comment
meh.... I did this once and TBH it works but it's gimmicky. Now if you could get a GIF to work .... then make a flashing gif would be better IMO.
That would be a lot of fun if you can make your GIF blink conditionally
@@Officeinstructor quite a few years ago at a former job. Had a guy, who had some software, make me a gif that would start red then go to transparent ... say 2 second cycles. Used it in a web page to indicate that a tool status had just changed on our factory communication board.
Would have loved to make it work in a workbook tho.
Plz indent the code. It is just a good practice.
Sure ... Thank you for your NICE comment

I still can't understand why you put such a noisy music?
Total confusing 😉 sry not a student of computer
On top of that you should be at least an intermediate user of Excel to learn VBA. I create Tutorials for users of different levels
Sorry, but this type of code is not a very good idea, coz it slowdown excel.
Sanjib Pramanik, as of 07:52 17MAR2020, among 60+ people who commented on this video, you and I are the only 2 of such opinion...
OP should tell his audience that such blocking calls should be best avoided...
I was holding my breath hoping that he is not going to use ontime/callbacks...
And this is clickbait, no where near conditional formatting but rather involved vba...
@@thesexiestguy Exactly, this is a clickbait. I think excel VBA coding is very easy to learn, but very few people actually know about how to write a safe code that harmless for our application and computer processor. 90% of them can't try to understand why they should use array instead of use range object or cell reference. Excel VBA event's are very useful, but using event to create a blinking cell that change fill color randomly with some conditions is nothing but just a funny thing to show kid's 😜😁
Thanks for your reply 😇
avoid vba codes , do as much as you can do without vba , if you have to write a vba code, file need to be saved to xlsm format , then opening macro files is not considered safe
SPEAK ENGLISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good work, very clear, thanks.
Is it possible to modify a little bit:
Can keep the « stop » by 1 in cell D1... but would like to have an automatic stop after 20 seconds...
Is it possible?
Yes, you can. May be I create a tutorial on that in the future
