Dr Dre even has a scene in one of his videos where he opens his closet and it's all plain black Ts. Everybody was buying these plain T's back then, it was fashion, and then I remember one west coast rapper (might've been Kurupt) explaining they dressed that way in the hood cause that's what they could afford, so it kind of was funny to him when it became hiphop fashion for a while.
