  • Today I want to show you one of my favorite returns. It's the short return on sidespin serves by taking the spin out of the ball.
It's definitely not an easy return, but once you master this one, I guarantee you'll be playing at a different level. Enjoy!

Hi Timo ! inspirational as always ! thanks for teaching us amateur player a lot of useful skills in table tennis. as i think the aim of your channel is to allow amateur player to up their game with some pro tips. However, IMO, I think there are two main reasons of what makes a pro player pro and a amateur player stay amateur, which contributes to the difference in the quality of coaching and the difference in the quality of training partner. well, it is seemingly impossible for amateur player to get a session from Jörg Roßkopf lol. therefore, it will be great to have some of your insights regarding the pros and cons of a table tennis machine. thxxx :)

One more thing - to make close to the net (drop short) receive one need to have ball's contact point close to handle of the racket - near rubber model name. It's visible from your tutorial but in my opinion, it's useful additional small tip for us if you mentioned it in video:)

And i play table tennis everyday with my friends so i am in pretty good shape.

    • @fynnweiler7660

@@filipmaksimovic1640 you need Training. What you have is a beginner Racket. You have a slow Racket with a lot of control. Beginners need that to learn the techniques better. Timo has a lot faster Racket and more grippy and faster rubbers. Of course timo can produce more spin and speed. He also trained it for years.
You have to Practice with a coach and After times of good Training and improving skills you can go to a Material seller and get advises about new Material in combination with your play style.

    Hi Timo,
Thanks for the tips. Would you say you have an unorthodox grip? When I was learning to play I spend frustrating hours trying to “correct” my grip that according to the coach needed correcting. As hard as I tried, my new grip never felt comfortable. As the result I constantly had to second guess myself. I must add here that this coach was a world class chines woman player. How important is it to have a “perfect” grip? Many aspects of my grip (before the attempted corrections) looked very similar to yours. Just imagine how far I could have gone if I had continued with my original grip.

Very difficult with Backhand IMHO as your wrist can't adjust so finely.

I think backhand against spinny pendulum serves are so risky,I prefer going with forehand spin

And I think against left hand players thid tactic is working perfect! I have 2 good players in my team as lefty

I think this would work best against reverse pendulum as a right hand receiver
