    I’ve definitely fallen victim to “Dermatologist approved” before!!! Thanks for sharing these skin care myths!

      I can't believe they're out here making these claims like 'Dermatologist Approved' and 'Dermatologist Recommended'! How rude.

    I’m smiling as I watch, I’m also feeling less like a loner in my gullibility or is it hopeful innocence? Thanks for sharing and I’m looking forward to the labelling episode. Romeo looking fabulous also.

    What a beautiful baby .... well I’ve just had my tea and watched your video while I wait for my baby to come inside 🐱 .... I am a skincare lover and have worked in pharmacy, as well as managing counters for Kiehls and Clarins .... I now have a few favourites outside of those luxury and chemist brands, but I’m narrowing it down to what my skin wants and needs, particularly as ageing occurs 😂 (I’m 48 this year). I used to be able to use just a good moisturiser on my face but I now use serums and oils too to target dryness and fine lines. Regarding open pores, have you tried the Kiehls Pore Minimising Cream? I distinctly remember a customer who I recommended this range to, and the change in her pore size was amazing. Anyway, that’s just another product that came to mind in case you haven’t tried it.
    I love your practical hints, tips and recommendations. And ironic how you mentioned considering A little help !!!! If your skin needs it. I’m not feeling so guilty now for securing some good deals for my favourite products, and will see how I go in the coming months with some targetted skin care.
    Otherwise, it’s off to the beauty clinic I go ..... have a great weekend 😘

    Hi Trevor!! Watching this video I have to say I knew this as I am at least twice your age (it's called live and learn lol) everything you said is spot on! When I was younger I thought if it wasn't expensive it won't work! Come to find out some of the drugstore brands where more effective than high priced stuff, I was just paying for packaging and non effective additives. So I agree with what your saying and have to add sunscreen was what I was missing all those years 😏

    • @TrevorRitchie
      @TrevorRitchie  4 года назад

      Well said, Gail! Live and learn is right! Skin care and the beauty industry can be difficult to navigate - but not impossible. Adding in a sunscreen is an absolute must. It was nice to hear from you again - Stay well :)

    They will definitely try to market " medical grade" is as good as prescription. It is not. Its not superior to anything you can even find in a drugstore. They are trying to justify their expensive prices. I would rather shell out my money for something like tretinoin that I know will work.
    I honestly just stick to cleanser, moisturizer and a retinoid. Simple is best for sensitive skin

    • @TrevorRitchie

      You're so right, Jessica! I could do a video just on "medical grade" skin care ... and I probably should! In the long run - simple is best. Thanks for watching :)

    Derm tested is when the product is put to take on a group of people to see result

    • @TrevorRitchie
      @TrevorRitchie  4 года назад

      Hi Kiu! Because there is no standard definition or regulation for "Dermatologist Tested" each company defines this in its own way and is not required to do testing. Thanks for watching :)

      @@allenjan9086 You're right, I did! I use it once a week now and to spot treat acne flare ups. It is hard to balance Retin-a and testing so many skin care products for RUclips. It is important to me not to over work my skin :) Do you use Retin-a?

    • @allenjan9086
      @allenjan9086 4 года назад

      @@TrevorRitchie yes I used it probably close to 3 months now. My skin is still being red and oily looking but it isn't hurting or peeling and I can use it everyday without pain. Is this a normal reaction haha, I started using 7x a day like 2 weeks ago on some weeks my skin wud look really good but this week seems to be a mess but there's no pain or peeling so it seems like I can use it everyday.

    I use nourishing and protective skincare as well as Botox. I LOVE the results I get with Botox; I get questions about how I look so fresh, all the time. People ask if I’ve had my hair done, that kind of thing - they can’t put their finger on the difference. It freshens you up remarkably, without altering your facial structure. I tell everyone I get Botox, there’s no shame in looking your best, for your age.
