I actually think that videos done by "not the best" golfers are more entertaining generally and certainly more relevant to the issues and decisions being made by the average golfer. Seeing a super game improvement set of irons reviewed by a +5 handicapper is not super helpful.
Rick, you being the best golfer isn't why I've been a long time follower. Your content is by far the best on RUclips. Your honest club and ball reviews, course vlogs and golf swing tutorials are second to none. Your breaking 75 series is the best golf anything on RUclips period.
Totally agree, his ability to simplify golf instruction is extraordinary. He's a talented lad, and that lab channel they have is the best "free" information online without a doubt.
He actually does more than you think. He does tons of stuff with all of the other long drive guys to help promote them. He also has done a lot in the past with GM golf and Good Good to help promote them. He is hands down the best golfer on RUclips, and just because he’s not creating himself, he is assisting other creators and helping them be more successful. He’s involved, just not in the same way a guy like Rick is. Just my thoughts, and not meant as an argument.

We need different things and as a newer senior golfer, I don’t care what any poll says. I watch or rewatch those that help me and I enjoy their style. I am subscribed to three. Rich Shields is the most all around enjoyable and has the most variety of content. MrShortGame took me a while to relax with his style as he is a little more in your face, but is having fun like you. The last is weird, I just like his teaching or tips. This is SagutoGolf. While I watch others, I rarely finish the entire RUclips. Yours for me is the #1 and several of yours have made me smile for most of the day.
Hey I like saguto golf! I did make the mistake of trying to swing like him tho, he's got a great swing, but I'm a foot taller and the mechanics are different...... We Can't all swing the same and a good teacher teaches the basics of course but teaches to your swing type....imo ..
Crosfield is the old Tom Morris of RUclips golf content..... Many have come along and past his subs overs the years but he layed the groundwork for all of them............. 🍿
That's the whole point. It's rather vage just saying "the best YT golfer". In that vid from Luke Peavy everyone was talking about who'd beat whom in a tourney (and then it is totally ridiculous putting Rick in T5; I think when push comes to shove, Rick will really step up and perform top). But really one needs to see all the different content aspects and surely there aren't many who could equal Rick's channel. Good Good (together with GG Labs) have done great stuff, but just look at the many series that Rick has done. No one can compete with that.

The only way to go is to have a RUclips tournament over a year with prize money events and the player with the most money at the end can claim he/she is the number one RUclips golfer. There would need to be regional events to sort out the best regional players to cut travelling costs with one final 4 day event probably in the US ( home of RUclips). The regional events should have the same prize money and the final should have a larger amount. All paid by RUclips along with travel costs. You could end up with the winner of the final being a different person to the overall money leader. And have a matchplay tournament between them if you want to.

It might be possible to rank those different areas of RUclips creation and instruction but it would be difficult. For example, how do you measure coaching ability? What I miss from the other channel was the golfing reviews but with mid to high handicappers? I also think this is what makes Rick’ channel stand out is that it’s for the every day golfing fans. I also like the reviews of the cheaper less well known brands. More of this please!
You guys should hear people in the US argue about who the best college football team is! The college sports organization even decided to create a playoff and championship at the end of the season to put it to bed, but people argue over who was or wasn't invited to the playoffs. It's never ending. Keeping doing what you're doing, there'll always be haters and trolls who just want to argue and not take content for what it is.

Surprisingly humble considering his ability and success. Found his channel after Rick's interview with him. Subscribed.
Bryson is not humble. Only folks that are really slurping him up think that. He is hands down one if the most arrogant people in tour. Listen to what his peers think about him . Look at the tantrums he has thrown , like in Detroit last year. He has certainly won over a huge contingent of supporters, and I personally think he is an incredible golfer, and he is moving the needle. But humble?! That just absurd

There is so many good golfers on u tube now and so much to learn. I started mine, just for those friends who want to laugh at regular weekend gofers whom rib each other and try to enjoy the most frustrating and fun game there is. I'm still learning and am hoping to figure out shot tracker but it's fun to do the video's and it's never to late to learn. Thanks Rick always enjoyed watching you.
In terms of golfing channels, my criteria are not centered around who is popular or shiny. I look to golfing channels that I need to help my game along. I come to Rick Shield because he is informative when it comes to reviewing golf products and working techniques. I also go to Steve Johnston PGA who in my opinion does a great job of educating and coaching golfers.
I know this may be obtuse of me, but rather than "competing" on a subjective topic like "Best golf RUclipsr", it is the diversity that's so great. Rick, you're great at what you do; the sum of your content. Others do what they do well, while some, not so much. The only "best" would be about scoring, and who would that be? Who cares. I enjoy your content, you tier 5 pos! Kidding.
I follow Andrew Jensen on RUclips and while I do enjoy his content and channel. I'm a bit surprised that he would angrily tweet at you for not including him. I love golf, and I love golf content. I don't like when channels of any kind are constantly making infomercials. I feel at times Andrew is doing this. In my opinion this is holding his channel back. I enjoy that your channel doesn't do this along with Peter, Matt, and the Bryan Bros. Luke Kwon is another channel I really like that is golf content without trying to sell me something.
Followed him dating back to like 2018 when he was actually still trying to make it back to the Canadian tour. For reasons you highlight I unsubscribed from his channel about a month ago. I also 2nd Luke Kwon 👍
Agree. I enjoy a lot of Andrew's videos but it is starting to feel like an ad. The enjoyment factor is dropping and that will hurt his channel. Luke Kwon's channel is 👍
A name not mentioned is Pete Styles, his videos literally taught me how to swing a golf club step by step. Funny thing is Rick has videos with him in the early years
From entertainment and production quality perspective, I think that Rick, Good Good and GM-Golf are by far the best. You always get positive vibes when looking at their videos. Golfholics had a great momentum earlier and they “produced “ great ladies to RUclips, but they have lost their best edge lately.

Would the rankings for this only fall towards RUclips "pro" golfers or would it include all golfers who stream RUclips content? I think there'd be a few amature YT golfers who'd give the pro's a run for their money.
I mean, how do we define best? Fun? Skill? Video quality? I'm just glad I'm born in the time where we have unprecedented access to content for hobbies and interests we all share.
The Bryan brothers are probably the best golfers over all, Wesley is literally a tour pro and his brother is surely plus stroke handicap I’d imagine. You’d have to break it down categorically
I'm from the same area as the Bryan brothers and got a few lessons at their dad's academy. Wesley has actually won a PGA tour event. I've had someone that knows them both say George is as good as Wesley if not better as a ball striker, but doesn't perform as well under pressure like you have in a tournament.

I think if there was someone to sponsor it a RUclips golf tournament would be good stuff. It's probably not feasible. I do enjoy the content when several of you get together for a game. Maybe a UK tournament and a North American tournament and the winners play off. Someone would surely have to sponsor it though otherwise I'm sure it would be too expensive for most to participate.
Go on Rick, create an event like the Masters Games. Restrict it to non-professionals and people who have a RUclips channel that has 10k plus subscribers. I'm sure with your influence, that you could get some sponsors and cool prizes.

I think part of the issue is being a popular golf YT doesnt make you a good golfer. Im sure some of the very popular golf YT'rs would be crushed on the course by smaller less known golf YT'rs. So in mu opinion, I think some people got triggered because it seemed like the ranking list was by popularity and not by actual skill. Still.... A YT Golf Tournament would be incredible!!!
It's all personal opinion at the end of the day with content. Ricks number 1 might not be 10,000 other peoples number 1, and it's really difficult to know every single golf related channel on youtube

It seems like a simple problem to solve. Go to the world rankings and work your way down to see who has a RUclips channel. That's the answer and would be a legitimate top 10 golfers on RUclips list.

I come to Rick Shield because he is informative when it comes to reviewing golf products and working techniques. I also go to Steve Johnston PGA who in my opinion does a great job of educating and coaching golfers.
Gotta have some ladies as well. Claire Hogle has really stepped up her game! Easy on eyes as well.
There needs to be a RUclips golf classic. Yearly tournament to see who is number one for that year
I know this may be obtuse of me, but rather than "competing" on a subjective topic like "Best golf RUclipsr", it is the diversity that's so great. Rick, you're great at what you do; the sum of your content. Others do what they do well, while some, not so much. The only "best" would be about scoring, and who would that be? Who cares. I enjoy your content, you tier 5 pos! Kidding.

I follow Andrew Jensen on RUclips and while I do enjoy his content and channel. I'm a bit surprised that he would angrily tweet at you for not including him. I love golf, and I love golf content. I don't like when channels of any kind are constantly making infomercials. I feel at times Andrew is doing this. In my opinion this is holding his channel back. I enjoy that your channel doesn't do this along with Peter, Matt, and the Bryan Bros. Luke Kwon is another channel I really like that is golf content without trying to sell me something.

Agree. I enjoy a lot of Andrew's videos but it is starting to feel like an ad. The enjoyment factor is dropping and that will hurt his channel. Luke Kwon's channel is 👍

A name not mentioned is Pete Styles, his videos literally taught me how to swing a golf club step by step. Funny thing is Rick has videos with him in the early years
From entertainment and production quality perspective, I think that Rick, Good Good and GM-Golf are by far the best. You always get positive vibes when looking at their videos.
Golfholics had a great momentum earlier and they “produced “ great ladies to RUclips, but they have lost their best edge lately.

Rick is great, I also like Saguto, Top Speed Golf, Eric Cogorno, Chris Ryan, Zach Allen, and Paul Wilson.
The Bryan brothers are probably the best golfers over all, Wesley is literally a tour pro and his brother is surely plus stroke handicap I’d imagine. You’d have to break it down categorically
Terminator golf and New Nine are plus handicappers as well, neither have very high subs.

I'm from the same area as the Bryan brothers and got a few lessons at their dad's academy. Wesley has actually won a PGA tour event. I've had someone that knows them both say George is as good as Wesley if not better as a ball striker, but doesn't perform as well under pressure like you have in a tournament.

I think if there was someone to sponsor it a RUclips golf tournament would be good stuff. It's probably not feasible. I do enjoy the content when several of you get together for a game. Maybe a UK tournament and a North American tournament and the winners play off. Someone would surely have to sponsor it though otherwise I'm sure it would be too expensive for most to participate.
Go on Rick, create an event like the Masters Games. Restrict it to non-professionals and people who have a RUclips channel that has 10k plus subscribers. I'm sure with your influence, that you could get some sponsors and cool prizes.
so what metric do you even use to quantify "best youtube golfer?" best golfer who is on youtube? best youtuber who plays golf? golfer who is best at making youtube content? youtuber who plays the most golf? youtube golfer with the most subscriber engagement? youtube golfer whose videos have shaved the largest number of strokes off their subscribers' games? youtube golfer who has gotten the most people out onto the links and enjoying their game of golf? youtube golfers who are most likely to hand out cash, gear, and merch?

I think part of the issue is being a popular golf YT doesnt make you a good golfer. Im sure some of the very popular golf YT'rs would be crushed on the course by smaller less known golf YT'rs. So in mu opinion, I think some people got triggered because it seemed like the ranking list was by popularity and not by actual skill.
Still.... A YT Golf Tournament would be incredible!!!

It's all personal opinion at the end of the day with content. Ricks number 1 might not be 10,000 other peoples number 1, and it's really difficult to know every single golf related channel on youtube
Rick I'd love to hear you state how important it is to be a pro golfer anymore??? To be fair your utube channel exploded and so did everything esle that you do , your schedule is probably out of control so what kinda time to you have to get were you wanna be in your golf game? I think that's a fair question, I live in the states and I'm retired with no commitments and I cant find time improve my game ,I couldn't imagine if I had a life what my game would be , I'd probably forget how to swing a club lol ! thanks guys good stuff !
