Watching this in August 2023 after discovering Rick Shiels and Peter end of 2022 is golden. You two are legends and have come a long way - super inspiring. Thanks for sharing the great vibes and creating entertaining content for the most frustrating sport ever created.
The problem is they get access to all this equipment so they think that's the problem- but the saying "blames their tools" comes to mind - personally I think the high acceleration stroke Pete produces isn't the best
You guys REALLY need to do an explanation video of your putt-reading techniques. I would really love how to turn the consistent 5 over pars into scratch games. THANKS!
After watching loads of your videos and Crossfields it’s so clear how much more enjoyable yours are. Each to their own I guess. One suggestion is to get some 4ball action going on with Matt Fryer and one other. Either Sam or Carter(when he’s in the UK).....or another.
Rick - have you ever considered doing a review on the QOD electric caddy? Would love to get your pro’s and con’s. Thanks. Truly value your reviews. Spot on.
I really enjoy these course lessons from you and Rick and I also enjoy Mark Crossfield who does similar vidoeos. One request I would make is some thought to higher handicaps like myself during your commentary maybe explain your shot choice but also give some advice on how a higher handicap player may approach the shot. Sorry Rick as much as your game had some mistakes it shows how difficult the game is even for talented players such as yourself
@William Green Yes but, in a lot of competitions, partnered with an 11 handicapper (I was around 18), he always missed crucial putts from less than 2ft. In friendlies, yes, it doesn't matter what others do, so why can't I putt anything over 18 inches if I want. As the best putter in our group (their opinion, not mine), and the worst fairway hitter, I need a bit of help. also depends on whether the course is busy.
Rick / Pete, you mentioned ages ago the best phone holder tripod for filming, can you point me the right direction? What height should it be at for filming down the line? Thanks in advance.
Bit of a bizzare video and showed me that I don't play so bad if you're teaching pros and approach/putt like that, lol 😁 I love Rick's channel and follow. This was either a very casual game or the beers were flowing .. do tell ... be honest
714 ap2 are the straightest and tightest front to back dispersion club I have ever used (and I've tried a few!) they have a mid to high launch and good spin to hold greens but you can knock them down if required. They are not the longest but I can almost guarantee they will improve your scores
Great vlog - looks like a super course you are on. The club that I play on was updated by James Braid [though original layout by Willie Park Jnr] Looking forward to the next episodes of this match; shaping up to be a good 'un Cheers
cleaner lie and increase chance of striking out of the centre of the club and a little bit to help you get it further in the air etc etc.. some people dont really tee it up its all to do with preference.
I've said it before, and I love Rick, BUT, I wish Rick was just like 18% more encouraging to other players good shots and less dramatic on his own good shots! If he's playing bad he DEFFO won't be funny or joke w/ the homies, but when he hits a decent shot it's all eyes on him etc. etc! Peter on the other hand can appreciate good golf and stay chill and funny even when he's not playing too well! Also, NO WAY in hell he would bring match-play back up if he didn't knock it close, ANDDDD... literally bitches if he's not given a 3-4 footer but makes EVERYONE putt theirs (unless he's up 2-3) #StillLoveYaRick #YouAssHole!

Having the hole details imposed on the screen for the first two holes was a great idea, I am really enjoying watching your and Ricks playing VLOGS
The putting waterfall....Finchy applying the pressure to Shielsy on the first green!!!
Missing the shot tracer :(
Hey Pete, would love a video explaining what goes through your head when your putting, how you set up, what you’re thinking etc. Great video btw!
Agree with a few others on here; showing the pro's tip for each hole is a good addition to the videos.
Hahaha! Laughed with Ricky on the 3-putt!
I really am liking the side info/tips the you added. You should keep that format for future videos!
This may be the first video I've watched where there are other golfers on the course! Loved it, gentlemen. Thanks.
If you miss the putt it shouldn't have been given. Happens a lot. People will miss a short putt and complain it wasn't given.
What makes the game fun is the way it's supposed to be played no gimmes in golf.
These are the best type of videos Rick
I played this course last month in the 'Left Handers Open' they hold every year. An excellent track with a good clubhouse too.
Love watching you guys play golf - good golf and your enjoying yourself; and you make it look easy!
Putting train stops at many stations on the way to the hole lol
You what?
Love the video setup with the Pro's tip!! I wouldn't have given him that putt either ;) keep up the awesome videos!!
STOP BLAMING THE PUTTERS MR FINCH STICK WITH ONE AND GIVE IT A CHANCE
The problem is they get access to all this equipment so they think that's the problem- but the saying "blames their tools" comes to mind - personally I think the high acceleration stroke Pete produces isn't the best
10:44 - Slice!!
i’ve had the same putter since 1996 - an Oddesey Rossie 2 - works perfectly fine
Its ALWAYS the putters fault :D
Exactly it's all in the head . Get a good one get comfy play well 👍
Always dig these 2 playing!!!
14:40 AWESOME Pete !!!
5:15 Apart from when I was real young, I've never heard anyone else say 'toe rag' till now 😂
I don't know why but I love these course vlogs
The best golf vlog on youtube. Keep them coming guys.
Wow thanks bud
Always rooting for you
You 2 crack me up, love your vids
Putting all in the mind
James Braid who designed the Braid Hills in Edinburgh. One of the toughest public courses around. Not long but very hilly and lots of gorse.
Rick is a very nice guy....and a damn good golfer.
Over draw and over fade!?!? You mean a hook and a slice
alex newberry no, they are good an consistent. They shape their shots and choose to draw or fade
Also used frequently by Greg Norman when he was at the top of his game.
As a junior guest it would cost me £1 for the day. 8am to 8pm. Great memories.
Missing the putt only justified the decision...
You guys REALLY need to do an explanation video of your putt-reading techniques. I would really love how to turn the consistent 5 over pars into scratch games. THANKS!
See you guys what you doing. Stopping to mark where the ball post to break at and using the spike marks to mark the spot of the break starts
After watching loads of your videos and Crossfields it’s so clear how much more enjoyable yours are. Each to their own I guess.
One suggestion is to get some 4ball action going on with Matt Fryer and one other. Either Sam or Carter(when he’s in the UK).....or another.
Oh yep, want to get a lot more vlogs done this year!
Jutsin rose actually learnt at Hartley Wintney Golf Club, but outgrew it, and moved to North Hants
The putting train? Ah yes the Southern Trains version
Nice to see Rick’s camera works improved lol 😂
Rick wanting putts from all over the camp 😂😂cheeky
Rick - have you ever considered doing a review on the QOD electric caddy? Would love to get your pro’s and con’s. Thanks. Truly value your reviews. Spot on.
When Rich 3 putted i finally saw him a mere mortal for the first time.
hey pete I dont know if you look at your old comments but what was that camera ?
That camera is doing wonders for your content. Looks excellent
subtitled: Pete agitates Rick again
Pete not giving rick that gimmie on the first was jacked up 😂
Obviously it wasnt a gimme if he missed it right?

You forgot Olympic Gold medalist in your intro for Justin
You guys need to come down south and play the Nicklaus course at Mellion In Cornwall
Too hard for them ;-)
vengeance is mine said the lord! How sweet was that!
Peter Thomson
Great vid
Great video guys!
Lewis Scott aS
Think rick too nice to get really upset, good banter.
I always expect to putt out. In competitions friends that want a gimme always miss crucial short putts.
@William Green why?
@William Green Yes but, in a lot of competitions, partnered with an 11 handicapper (I was around 18), he always missed crucial putts from less than 2ft. Pete’s stance looks so wide with the bent front leg . He reminds me of a fencers stance
Dylan Maki yeah I still don’t like it. Much wider than any other golfer I’ve seen
Bit of a bizzare video and showed me that I don't play so bad if you're teaching pros and approach/putt like that, lol 😁
I love Rick's channel and follow. This was either a very casual game or the beers were flowing .. do tell ... be honest
Rick is brutal at golf lol
@Peter Finch Golf - "The putting toilet - he just flushes them down".
Wow ..Pete has put the. Beef on…2023
I literally just watched a Pete putting video in his office before this. Now seeing him 3 putt I am going to forget everything he showed me. lol
You guys have got such nice swings, did you ever go on tour?
10:49 Karma! Hahaha
You dumped the center-shafted Cameron already???
Gotta say, I'm missing the tracer
You need to be using that evnroll putter Pete maybe in a mallet style
Just bought some ap2 irons today can't wait to hit em
Jesse Jeffries thinking of buying them myself. Can I ask what handicap you are? I play off 16 but not sure if they're forgiving enough?
I'm a 11
Hit them, see how it goes. you may well be surprised
I just got some. 714 ap2s and I love them. I'm a 17 handicap. I have dropped about 5 to 7 strokes on every round so far..
714 ap2 are the straightest and tightest front to back dispersion club I have ever used (and I've tried a few!) they have a mid to high launch and good spin to hold greens but you can knock them down if required. They are not the longest but I can almost guarantee they will improve your scores
What putter is Pete using? I thought he switched to a new Scotty recently.
He was trying out 3 different ones that he liked, this is one of them.
Are you guys still using the tp5
James Braid designed my home club Dunstable Downs golf club
I see you are using the 5cb what are the advantages of it as I'm looking to maybe buy one
Ooo great vid peter! Love the outfit!
What do you mean, pick it up. Lol
Back to the "toe up" Pete!
PF has a better tempo on the down swing.
Pete what shoes are you wearing ?
That was a bit of an awkward moment at the end when Rick said he's different off camera. Too many long sleeve Nike shirts have got you uncomfortable.
What do long sleeve shirt have to do with making him angry lol
Check of Shiels getting butthurt for not getting a gimme. He NEVER gives Pete the short ones
Love the vid
How is it that you both waddle along your intended put line then tread along your line walking back???
What are you actually doing when you walk by the putting line?
Feeing the slope with their feet. You'll see a lot of tour players walking all over the green to feel it out. Especially in practice rounds
Same when they strattle the line
Great vlog - looks like a super course you are on.
The club that I play on was updated by James Braid [though original layout by Willie Park Jnr]
Looking forward to the next episodes of this match; shaping up to be a good 'un
Cheers
As always, amazing content.. Alltho, I am noticing, you are using aimpoint measurements.. when are you guys gonna make a video about that?
A "Cliff notes" version of Aim Point Express...
Was never a gimme. No one in their right mind would give shiels that with his shoddy putting skills.
why does my tee fly backwards when i hit and i see your fly forwards?
12mins 30 sec
Peter - keep the Scotty. Futura 5 CB!!!
Pete how do you play with your shoes loosely tied? I have to tie mine as tight as can be to feel like I'm not going to come out of my shoes.
depends on technique - some people can make great swings in flip-flops...
Draw on second shot hole eleven Rick? Why not just a nice little cut into the green? Anyways, great video again
Watching a lot of these vlogs and it seems ALOT of people walk courses in the UK. Almost no one walks them where I’m from. Wonder why that is
OMP would’ve 2 putted
Ian in
a delightfully judged golf shot, that
Y'all need to pick each other golf clothes for the challenge
Just smashing them too hard lol
Ah, Pete, putters are so temperamental! And 3-putts are the worst! :)
what’s the advantage of teeing up when you hit irons
cleaner lie and increase chance of striking out of the centre of the club and a little bit to help you get it further in the air etc etc.. some people dont really tee it up its all to do with preference.
Rick getting excuses in very early on this one
I sold my 5s couldn't putt at all with it!
I've said it before, and I love Rick, BUT, I wish Rick was just like 18% more encouraging to other players good shots and less dramatic on his own good shots! There are no gimmes in golf period
making excuses and whining about Body aches from the very first swing!!!
How old is this video?
What irons are Rick using these days
speedcubeftw Wilson forged f6 irons I believe
anyone know what shoes Pete’s wearing in this video?
They're Footjoy Freestylers
