Hi just 24 hours ago I picked up the new Ford S-Max
Titanium sport 180PS model and it's a very quick car you get such
pulling power from 2nd gear its just amazing you can feel the 295
F/Pounds or 400Nm low down in the rev range it's a step up from the
previous generation S-max it's a absolute pleasure to drive and would
ask anyone thinking about getting one then please do you won't be
sorry.

I wish Ford USA would find it worthwhile to bring the S-Max to the states. There's truly nothing like it here and I miss having the option for one badly!

I don't think it's fair to compare S-Max with Alhambra or Grand C4 Picasso on internal space (especially the 3rd row of seats). Ford has Galaxy for that...

The practicality and space of the MPVs hint to what they really are: seven-seaters with lots of space for shopping and bags and suitcases!

I own one, its great for vacations etc, my mum packed 10 ski outfits in the car with no problems.
I have one of these, just as shown in the review. I won't get another because the front seat legroom is wholly inadequate. The earlier S-Max had great legroom but this reminds me of my old Mini. Actually, my old Fiesta had much more front legrroom.

Wasnt mentioned here (unless I missed it) comes with front heated seats also drivers seat is ajustable to bk shape (the arch) so U dont get bk ache

New grand scenic all day !!!
Grand Scenic wouldn’t compare a single bit when it comes to engines and driving dynamics. Even the rear seats are tiny in comparison, they don’t even offer 3 separate seats like the S Max. Wouldn’t say the Scenic is bad at all but the S Max just does it all better.
I'll get the ford...the Citroen like all French cars now will be worth peanuts in 3 years & a plastic door handle replacement will probably require the door to be sent to the main factory & cost more than the door...(Megane headlamp bulb for instance can cost £300 & require bumper removal)
Diesels in the uk are all being given the death sentence were being softened up by the newspapers now & in a few years even the new ones will be taxed to death...some are about to get hit with upto £500 road tax..not public knowledge yet...

Does anyone know what the four slots in the rear headlining (two are next to the middle row grab handles) are for? When you slide them back there's a slot for attaching something, but what?
I think they’re for retention nets, we also have them on ours and we also don’t know. I thought it would be for one of those metal cages to prevent cargo from flying into the cabin.

Forget electric windows. They are mentioning air conditioning as a standard feature in some other reviews. I mean isn't air conditioning already a must feature for a car?

The only problem with seats that fold into the floor is that carrying weight is limited to avoid damage to the seats. Seats that fold forward or can easily be removed makes the vehicle a true van and people carrier.

This guy's a good reviewer but his delivery is just awful. It's not what he's saying, but the way he says it. He sounds patronising all of the time! Why not have him review the smaller/sportier cars and then let Ginny, a mother, review cars that she might actually use?!
Take out the seats in my 1997 Citroen Synergie and you get 3300 litres. S Max is no match for space

a care home at the very top of a mountain, within inches from the edge.
If you want to call your MPV “practical”,buy a Grand scenic or 5008.
Grand Scenic gets kicked when it comes to interior space, even the 5008 is small in comparison. Grand Scenic is well worse than the S Max inside, the rear seats are a bench unlike the S Max, you have 3 separate seats in the Ford.
S-Max seems very uncomfortable compared to some rivals, such as Zafira for passengers on second row. It has 3 wide seats perfect for 3 people. But what if there is only 1 person sitting there or 2? Then they move closer to middle and seats become very uncomfortable for long rides. Everything else in S-Max is excellent, but second row of seats ruins it all. For some reason not a single review considers that there might be 1 or 2 people on second row.
