If anyone is running into the issue, with no IP address to enter via the Remote Access Tab, you might not be connected to Xbox Live. Go to the left and side of the page, select Home, then the top Tab called Quick Actions, should have at the bottom of it a status indicator that says, Xbox Live: Up and Running. If not, then you need to connect you Xbox to the internet again, as this is Dev Mode, not Retail Mode, so your internet wifi that you setup and connected to your xbox previously, does not carry over. Go to the left hand side of the page, select Settings, then a large Tab will appear called Console Settings, at the bottom of the Tab click the Launch Settings button. It will take you to the Settings App that you might be familiar with already. Use it to setup your internet connection again, meaning select the wifi you want to connect to and enter the password. That way, you will now be connected to Xbox Live again, and when you return to the Dev Mode, you should see your IP address under Remote Access.

Thanks for this! I'm having an issue with widescreen patches. I've followed the instructions and the patches load, but every game I try is just "stretching" to fit the widescreen frame - e.g. circles become ovals, everyone looks very "wide". Have I missed something?
Quick question, does the normal speed option (defaults at 60fps NTSC, 50fps PAL) mean it'll run the games internally at those fps? I setup a 60fps pnach, do I not even need to use those?
@@ArchadesGames ah, just wanted to be sure on that. I've just played through The Getaway on the original PS2 with a HDMI upscaler, I wanted to see how it looked upscaled with this/60fps boost. I regret everything. 😂
Please help, Looks like you're getting very steady and smooth frame rates. For some reason, no matter what games I play for PS2 i get stuttery frame rates at every resolution. I tried Fight Night Round 3, Dark Cloud 2, Burnout 3, Bujingai, Okami, NBA Jam, The Warriors, and many more, and they all get stuttery frame rates at even the lowest resolution, Is there a way I can improve this? It seems like GameCube on Retroarch gives me really steady frames, so idk what's going on with PS2.
I think i figured it out, at least for my specific situation. I'm using a NVME drive (2gb read and write) and a USB C to USB A cable to connect it to the Xbox. I guess something is too slow (I assume the cable but i tried two and it happend with both). When I use the internal drive or a 3.2 USB Stick, it's all working fine. I'll try a different cable and a faster NVME as soon as I can. For now my workaround is using a dedicated usb stick or the internal drive
I'm a fan of the work. I'm so far behind. I have to buy a pc to get dev mode. So now I'm working to buy a pc. Why can't you use a series s to get dev mode?😊
I keep getting to 100% and then receive an error that there's not enough space on the disk. I have available space and can install other apps... I went to the storage section of Dev Mode and it shows I'm at 10gb. I'm unable to move the slider left or right, however.
The slider does not show your free space it shows what is allocated to Dev mode of the total drive space. Go into system settings and look at your storage devices.
I've gone back and followed step by step and nothing is working I been trying to search for a solution online but haven't found anything that works, if anyone knows how to fix the game not loading and being stuck on a black screen please let me know
I having trouble with getting into the dev portal . It doesn’t even give me the option to sign in or when I put the full url just google searches it like it doesn’t exist

Thanks for this! I'm having an issue with widescreen patches. I've followed the instructions and the patches load, but every game I try is just "stretching" to fit the widescreen frame - e.g. circles become ovals, everyone looks very "wide". Have I missed something?
XBSX2 seems to have a few issues with some games. You can try AetherSX2 instead if you are on Dev Mode.
Quick question, does the normal speed option (defaults at 60fps NTSC, 50fps PAL) mean it'll run the games internally at those fps? I setup a 60fps pnach, do I not even need to use those?
that means it is outputting at 60/50hz, game framerates can still be 30/25 fps. 60 fps patches are still needed.
@@ArchadesGames ah, just wanted to be sure on that. I've just played through The Getaway on the original PS2 with a HDMI upscaler, I wanted to see how it looked upscaled with this/60fps boost. I regret everything. 😂
Lol
Please help, Looks like you're getting very steady and smooth frame rates. For some reason, no matter what games I play for PS2 i get stuttery frame rates at every resolution. I tried Fight Night Round 3, Dark Cloud 2, Burnout 3, Bujingai, Okami, NBA Jam, The Warriors, and many more, and they all get stuttery frame rates at even the lowest resolution, Is there a way I can improve this? It seems like GameCube on Retroarch gives me really steady frames, so idk what's going on with PS2.
Go look at the PCSX2 wiki for potential fixes
I have the same problem. Frame stuttering every few seconds in PCSX2 and XBSX2 on Series X and nothing seems to help. Could you find an answer yet?
I think i figured it out, at least for my specific situation. I'm using a NVME drive (2gb read and write) and a USB C to USB A cable to connect it to the Xbox. I guess something is too slow (I assume the cable but i tried two and it happend with both). When I use the internal drive or a 3.2 USB Stick, it's all working fine. I'll try a different cable and a faster NVME as soon as I can. For now my workaround is using a dedicated usb stick or the internal drive
@FrankNFurter87 yeah I'm using an external HDD that I got for like $60 on Amazon, maybe an SSD would've been a better choice since they're faster
@@ArchadesGames it shows plenty on all three of my drives...
I've gone back and followed step by step and nothing is working I been trying to search for a solution online but haven't found anything that works, if anyone knows how to fix the game not loading and being stuck on a black screen please let me know
where did you get the cheats from? i have the retail copy of xbsx2 so are they already included?
Google for the cheats
Is there "Skipdraw" option somewhere?
I could not find it.
I having trouble with getting into the dev portal . It doesn’t even give me the option to sign in or when I put the full url just google searches it like it doesn’t exist
Is it possible for this to damage or mess with my series x?
Great tutorial. Everything is working fine on my XBOX serie s, but how to acess the quick menu ?
The default was either L3+R3 or Start+Back
I've checked and now it's ok. No more exit the app, just the current game. Thanks.
where do you get the games from though i doubt i’m sticking ps2 games in the pc

@@ArchadesGames thank you sir but what about if i don’t possess sh2 currently
Is it possible to use keyboard and mouse?
Where the heck do you find the widescreen hacks folder?
Thank you for your great work.❤
Just one? Can you make a video on how to delete retroarch and start all over if you messed up an installation like me 😅😅
Just uninstall it?
I've had to do that a couple times now. Games would boot and look like they're working but would get stuck before title screen. Just uninstalled and used your vid to reinstall
Do you think we will ever get a ps3 emulator on xbox?
No I don't
Is there a common reason that my bios files would throw up an error? Says it requires a bios in order to play but I put the files in...
You either don't have the directories set right or it is a bad BIOS
@Archades Games When I got home I pulled the USB and found...... I forgot to copy the bios files from my computer. I take my box to work to emulate on free time so I couldn't check for 12 hours lol. Thanks for responding!
Hi! Quick question: does this emulator support retro achievements? I’ve been using AetherSX2 since you posted your video on it but the lack of achievements it’s a real bummer, and it seems it still hasn’t been added to this day….
AetherSX2 has achievement support in the newer builds
I'm using an xbox one x. the retail app booted just fine, but the devmode version just crashes
Hi, only some of my games were able to upload.. but my main issue is that i can get through menus in a ps2 game, but they won’t play any further? the screen turns black. help! 😅
I changed my usb flashdrive for external ssd and now when I go into retroarch and try to change the directory it crashes as soon as I choose which drive Im selecting. Pls help do I need to reinstall retroarch?
So followed all steps for all your dev mode things and now it won’t let me switch into dev mode at all
I’ve been trying to get this to work on dev mode but with no luck. Apparently using it on an Xbox one or Xbox one x just makes it crash as soon as you load it. I already tired the resolution fix. Any info on how to fix this?
Xbox One CPU is too crap to run PS2 at full speed
I don’t know how to get one game to play. My other games load perfectly, but one game simply won’t be recognized. It just says please insert PlayStation or PlayStation 2 disc.
Sounds like a bad game file
