I noticed recently while I was rewatching the 1997 anime. You can even see the bit of Corkus in him with how ruthless he can be killing demons. He’s not afraid to do things that some would consider dishonorable, so long as he wins.

Judeau was such a real one dude, he was Guts' actual best friend, one of the best characters from the whole manga, an absolute GOAT
