Remember that this City has a Seven Centuries of existance. And you can find samples of any of those years. The environment reflects the combination of two cultures: Ancient Mexican's one, and Medieval Spain's, as well. When the first spaniards came, they were received by the Emperor Moctezuma like you are received now. It is a milenary tradition of hospitality. A better educated people, that unfortunately wasn't corresponded by europeans in the same way. Afterwards, things changed when the New Spain surpassed the European culture largelees. Then, an impressive country appeared. Welcome and enjoy, it is free.
Great video good informed places to check out and the best that you guys took the courege to visit Mexico city regardless of negative media and people who just say dont go here dont go there without knowledge of the real world life.
Lisa, thanks so much. Appreciate the kind words. Going to Mexico City Tomorrow!? Wow! What part of town are you staying in!? Enjoy it is such a special place!
We locals are not thinking about keeping our belongings safe. I don’t know one single person who has been pickpocketed on the metro. Insecure places are on the outskirts. A family of gringos will never be robed. You are completely safe. Much safer than in the USA. You will only find honest happy people sharing happiness. You will hear stories from people that are used to speak negatively, those stories are few and have ben around for a long time. Relax. enjoy. Please describe with much detail the flavors.
Hi, guys. Man, your evidently genuine reactions make me feel very proud and grateful as a Mexican. I'm so glad to see people from the US to get rid of all the prejudices about Mexican street food and just let go and enjoy everything we have here. I don't blame you if you feel it's not very sanitary sometimes. I mean, many times I myself look the other way when they are serving it haha. I feel particularly nostalgic watching your video since I'm moving to Vancouver, Canada with my family for the second time. We're Canadian citizens and know what feeling homesick is like, and how important it is to feel welcome in a country that is not your own. We're Canadians by law, but we're 100% Mexicans in every other aspect over there. Please feel welcome in Mexico. If you've loved it, it's yours for you to bring a little back home. Cheers
Yes, La Merced is a huge market, but… actually it’s not the biggest; the biggest market not only in Mexico, not even at Latin America, even the whole continent, in fact THE BIGGEST market in the world is Central de Abastos, a place where thousands of markets, in fact, but the stuff they sell at other markets, and being that big, it’s right now starting the Construccion at the roof of that market the biggest solar farm in the world inside a city. Also, about Chapultepec, yes, it’s huge, twice Central Park, but also right now it’s about to become bigger; it has 3 sections and it will have in a few years a fourth section, so it will be even bigger!
Oscar I did read about Central de Abastos! We did not go but it sounds amazing. Have you been!? A fourth section added to Chapultepec....wow! Mexico City is really on a whole different level. Such an amazing place!

BUT... the reality of our day-to-day life as citizens of this country, even in states like the one I live in, which in theory are among the "top 5", is totally normal and we practically don't see what appears in the news, it's basically all very safe!... sometimes I think that the press and the economic and political interests of Europe, Gringoland and other countries envy us hehe or something, just think about this, How is it possible that it is sooo bad and 45 million tourists come to visit us every year, and more than 4 million foreigners, mainly gringos, live here!

@@kp2xd340 wow! Sounds amazing. Your english is excellent. We drove through there, but now I wish we would of stopped! Appreciate the insight. Next time we will have to plan a visit!
@@BookItTravel Well, Tabasco is not very visited, it is not even well known in Mexico, if one day you come here, visit the La Venta park-museum where there is a huge jungle full of monkeys, birds and archaeological pieces such as the colossal Olmec heads. Also the Tomas garrido canabal park, and go to eat at the restaurant El Eden where there is typical Tabasco food such as Puchero, which is a beef soup with banana, corn and vegetables
@@BookItTravel Thanks for praising my English, I watch a lot of American series like Gossip girl or Breaking Bad with subtitles, that's how I learn LOL
Hey guys, thanks for the video. I live closeby to Chapultepec so I am fortunate to go running / walking in it at least twice a week. And every time I'm reminded how fortunate are we to have something like that in the middle of a megalopolis. We Mexicans (and particularly chilangos) take it for granted, but the fact is that Mexico City (well, of course, parts of it) is such a great place to live.
Henio, thanks for watching and commenting. Having Chapultepec as your running route is amazing! How long have you lived in Mexico City!? We had an amazing time in your city! Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Thanks for being the kind of foreigners that appreciate Mexico and its culture. Not like the ones who just come here to stretch their money and gentrify certain areas of the city or the country, some of them stay for months in here and never meet a local because they never leave Condesa or Roma. You have a beautiful family and a beautiful mindset, hope the best for you and you're always welcomed in Mexico.
Gustavo, we really appreciate the kind words. My wife speaks spanish and were often greeted so kindly after they heard her talk. We did our best to experience the people and the culture and it belew us away. Especially in Mexico City! What a special place! Kind, friendly and filled with smiles!

Thanks you! CDMX is such a special place.

Cheers

😋 mmmm los tacos de "El Huequito"...deliciosos👌
Moises!!!! El Huequito tacos es perfecto!
Such an amazing place!

hi!... welcome!... really all this about if Mexico is like this or like that if you visit México extreme precautions!... hahaha... all that makes me laugh a little and I really don't quite understand it well, yes, indeed, we have problems with organized crime... BUT... the reality of our day-to-day life as citizens of this country, even in states like the one I live in, which in theory are among the "top 5", is totally normal and we practically don't see what appears in the news, it's basically all very safe!... sometimes I think that the press and the economic and political interests of Europe, Gringoland and other countries envy us hehe or something, just think about this, How is it possible that it is sooo bad and 45 million tourists come to visit us every year, and more than 4 million foreigners, mainly gringos, live here!
Marco, I totally agree. We are from the US and the news creates a false picture about Mexico. They report the terrible things. We were blown away by the amazing people, the food and the kindness. Mexico City was our last stop and it was so special 🤩 ! The size alone was amazing, but the history, food and markets were out of this world. We spent 4 months driving around Mexico in our van with two kids so I think we got a decent feel for the country. And of course like you said there are problems, but there are problems and a few bad people everywhere. Thanks for the thoughtful comment! Which state do you live in?
@@BookItTravel i live in Guanajuato, some citys of this state are considered more dangerous as Celaya and Irapuato, not Guanajuato capital and San Miguel, but believe me, we do not see that terrible things, our work and daily life is normal, by the way, Mexico City is already one of the safest in the world, for good work that the authorities have been doing for two years to date, enjoy our incredible places a long the country and delicius food!!
Marco, we spent a week in Guanajuato! It was supposed to be two days, but we could not leave. We often get asked what our favorite spot in Mexico is and we always tell people about Guanajuato.
