I totally agree. I would start putting them out Late December to Late January If you get mild spells bees will find them. I have had bees going in and cleariing them up late february and by laet March early April got two swarms arrive. They start to prepare the new hive sometimes long before they move in. Seen it so many times over the years. Nothing beats attracting your own swarms.Hope you have a happy and prosperous 2024

Many times you can catch in the exact location you intend to keep the bees
I caught 2 swarms July and August last summer and they are still going strong. They both have strong queens. Thanks for your help on some of things you do. live in Central indiana
I need to get me 1 of those chicken feeders for pollen sub.
About the only thing I do this time of year is keep an eye on food stores and some OAV.

Hi , you make nice informative videos. I watched many of them. I am starting this season with bee keeping. And I wanted to ask your vision on using a jacket or a full suit. Whitch one did you preferred, and why? Thanks!
I've already lost the 2 late swarms i caught this year. I've got a weaker hive i dont think will make it. That leaves me with 3. I may get a new package this spring. I once was at 15 strong hives, but the last 2 seasons has been rough.
I would try catching swarms first if you can.
