Well he didnt. That movie was utter trash and it destroyed his chances of becoming a comedy movie superstar. He had to stick with SNL. The best of SNL at the time were trying to make it big enough to get out of it and become movie stars. Dana carvey was thought to follow the steps of Will ferrel, Adam Sandler, Mike Myers, etc.... But that piece of trash movie killed it all. He is an SNL legend but he was never a superstar.
