Best impressionist in SNL history. What he understood about impersonations is (at least in comedy) that it’s not about trying to sound exactly like the person, it’s about finding certain aspects of the person and exaggerating them to the extreme.

Dana is the best one man show I have ever seen, and I have seen them all. He was born to do his stuff. His unique take on life and comedy is unbeatable and funnier than anyone else. His array of impressions will have you in stitches throughout his show. He could charge double for tickets and i would still go every time.

Could you imagine if Dana, Phil Hartman, Martin Short, Eddie Murphy, Mike Myers, Billy Crystal, and Robin Williams could have been on stage all at once and just be let go to bounce off one another? No script? Just let 'er rip! OMG! What a show that would have been! 🤣Robin and Phil were such tragic losses. 😢 And as long as I'm assembling my "dream cast", throw Jonathan Winters on top of that and stand back! Then imagine Don Rickles, Rodney Dangerfield and Gilbert Godfried standing on the side commenting like the old men in the balcony on The Muppet Show! 🤣😂🔥❤ Sad some of those great talents are gone but so very happy to have the privilege of being alive to witness their brilliant hilarity. Even as a child, Jonathan Winters was one of my favorite comedians! And Mork and Mindy was one of my favorite TV shows. This is my favorite type of comedy. It just popped into my mind 4 more to add to a "comedy dream"....Tim Conway, Harvey Korman and Carol Burnett & Jerry Lewis. *sigh* Thank you God for giving us memories and imagination...... and humor and laughter and each other to share it with. I ask that you let us remember these things and allow the laughter and love to heal our nation and world. Amen.

I was standing backstage next to Dana at a car convention once (he was the MC). The band was telling jokes. He was listening and laughing. Finally someone said "hey Dana tell us a joke". He said "well I don't really tell jokes. I do voices and bits"; but then he said, "I did hear a good joke the other day" and proceeded to tell us one of the funniest jokes I've ever heard.
