I wonder how was it at nighttime! I'm sure though likely windy and cold, that the sight of the stars and moon in such a clear looking sky and perhaps even seeing such in the river's reflection must have been memorable!
I didn't do a hot air balloon unfortunately, but I did manage to ride a dune buggy through the desert in Ordos. Lots more great videos to come. Thanks for watching as always.
Beautiful grassland, beautiful sunset. One thing that strikes me is that the local herders have now settled on their designated lands, rather than running around chasing grass as their ancestors did. Local governments also play a role in controlling cattle numbers to avoid overgrazing that can damage the environment.

As a Mongolian looking at Inner Mongolia landscape to me just looks like any nomadic western Mongolian grassland. The only difference is the language and ppl who inhabits the land, kinda weird feeling. Anyhow it was very interesting to watch.

Like all the farmers around the world, they live at the mercy of mother nature. There are good years and bad years, you have to get prepared and save enough for the worst.
They work every single day and only earn $12k - $14k net profit. That's the equivalent of the average wage in inner Mongolia. Perhaps it would be better to lease out the land to another herder and get a regular job.
But you're forgetting that they love this life. It's not a job for them. I met one young guy (video coming later) who was a kindergarten teacher. And he gave it up to be a herder and he now just herds cashmere goats. He loves it.
Theres no other channel that documents China like you. Very impressive!

As I understand, they still move around somewhat, but far more settled.
