Go make the chowder now people its soo good. I used brocoli instead of cauliflower and bleneded half of it in a regular blender as i don't have an immersion blender. My bf loves it too 🎉
I really appreciate your message at the beginning. I've been struggling with being too strict (trying too hard to be as whole food, SOS free as possible) and giving up over and over again. While I've learned a lot about how unnecessarily rich we make things, I've tried so hard to avoid any fat, salt and sugar that I can't even make a tasty sauce. I'm realizing that I won't get anywhere if I keep trying to force myself to eat food that doesn't taste good to me. I'm going to allow a little more freedom to make things taste better.
I really appreciate that you stress the importance of having food that tastes good and that you include sauces and salt into your recipes. I followed a couple of starch solution based channels that show meals with only boiled potatoes and boiled zuccini for example and they rave how good it is etc. Also, they are often very strict and add max 1/4 avocado a day and that not every day, adding a plant milk to oats would be a no no. I was always wondering - who can eat like this for a longer period of time - how can they find this enjoyable - is something wrong with me? Thank you for showing completely relatable meal ideas that i can imagine having on a daily basis❤

I'm so glad you talked about just doing your best. I'm guilty of putting so much pressure on myself and yes, it only leads to a binge eating episode of all the food I deny myelf. I call them eating blackouts, because I "come to" the next day feeling terribly about myself. This time round I decided I am not putting crazy expectations on myself. If I want a sandwich for lunch. I have one. It's okay. I just started again, and my wieght loss is one or two pounds a week. But I'm so much less anxous about everything and I'm enjoying the process. On another note, I would like to see the calories and macros.

I agree that prepping for the whole week does not taste good. Also if and when you make more meal plans including the calories and macros within the plans would be super helpfull.😊
Very wise advice at the beginning of the video. As someone who is an all or nothing person, it's a good reminder to be flexible. I do like having calorie counts, but I always compute them myself anyway. If I don't count calories, I don't lose weight. It's too easy to have more calories than intended. At 66, 1500 calories a day is what I aim for. Down 14 pounds in 6 weeks. Very happy about that.
Love these types of videos. Fell off my momentum for a while there and was eating too many,albeit vegan but processed foods. And a few too many birthday and holiday celebrations 😂🍷 So these videos help me get back on track ♥️🤗
I've always missed your sit down "talks"!! I think your *sane* approach to eating is sincere. As a trainer/teacher I think you are very inspiring... Well I just made the "Veggie Chowder" soup - wow very yummy and easy to make - love it. I only used 2 Tbsp cubes of coconut milk (I freeze them in single serving Tbsp amounts - always had can going bad in the fridge) and added 2 carrots - had to use some up. Love seeing the lentils in there. Really nice soup. thanks for sharing the recipe!
It's nice seeing you back here. My friends and i were enjoying that you were recently making delicious vegan meals without the terms "diet" or " weight loss" on the title, with your sharing the great, healthy, hearty easy meals you've been eating. Your food is great either way, but for those who don't want or need to lose weight, and don't particularly like seeing those terms, and who just eat real vegan food, it was nice to see you being real about your food and life, like you were from the beginning... because sharing your real life, from job to family relationships to houses to pets and planting and preparing food in your life, is so captivating and endearing. Right now, you need more food, being so active and having attained a healthy weight years ago, and your reality, working hard, moving, cooking, and the meals that show it has been appreciated since you came back. I wish you'd share a playlist or link to a weightloss series and book for those who want it and keep showing your real life with your real food that's probably great for everyone, as is, or people can always modify...maybe you can explain that people can change what your'e now eating slightly for quick or steady weight loss and explain that people who need more can have more or add certain foods or ingredients to the meals. P.S. The Boondocks is missed ✌️
I will keep making the what I eat vlogs, they will be my weekly videos I just made this one as a bonus. I agree that talking about weight loss too much can be negative and its affected me in the past making too much weight loss content. My main content will just be healthy meals and my daily life kind of stuff :)

Quick question though with this being a weight loss video I just noticed like coconut milk, or avocados or nuts if some sorts in the recipes. I thought we should stay shy of that until you are at your weight goal?

Do you get your bulk oats from a company online or do you buy them in bulk at the store? Oats have tripled in price where I live and I eat them 7 days a week so I want to buy in bulk and save some money.
