BiA has to be, even today, one of my favorite WWII FPS shooters of all time. Don't get me wrong, I love RO2 and other more "realistic" ones. But BiA just had this perfect mixture of story, gameplay, and realism to really tie it all in and make for a genuinely enjoyable gaming experience (in my opinion).
Despite my love for Road to Hill 30, Earned in Blood, and Hell's Highway, I almost don't want a new Brothers in Arms made in this generation. Lord knows what they'd do to it. . .

It always puts a little ache in my heart to see GVMERS review all the games of my childhood, and hear how they toppled to the ground. The characters I once thought invincible, have slowly crumbled and faded, their memories nothing more than a nostalgic brush in the minds of those who remember. It makes me sad to think one day they may be totally forgotten. Even the PS2 version, which I played, with its issues, was an experience I couldn’t forget. God bless those old games we once thought the work of magic.
I remember watching that moment at E3. I wanted to throwup and cry at the same time. It made me sick that they would even consider disrespecting their own games like that. Just imagine Brothers in Arms: Battle of the Bulge on Unreal Engine 4. "Tell me Baker, how do you feel about snow?" "I can handle snow."
I remember after the hells highway ending I couldnt wait for what I saw as a "remake" of mohaa bastonge campaign. I felt betrayed by EA at this time, they had fucked over BFME and just forgotten it seems they owned the rights to lotr. then Command and conquer my other childhood game series that was broken by EA, bioware isnt all that great either anymore
Road to Hill 30 was probably the first game that ever really scared me. I tried playing when I was 6 and the swears and violence kinda scared me even though I'd been playing SOCOM and GTA. When I tried playing 3 or 4 years later and knowing more about WW2 this game scared me because of how real and mature this was. I would sit in my room with the door open and you really felt the connection between everyone, not many war games give you that feeling now.
Same, It was a very different game and much darker in tone than even Call Of Duty in some areas especially World At War. The main issue unfortunately is Sgt Baker has PTSD which is very real for soldiers especially in WWII due to the horror and atrocities of that dark era, Even releasing Brothers In Arms today would be a major problem because of the antisemitism going on with neo nazis out there
I still get chills to this day when I think about the scenes with Leggett screaming "take me"! as he fires at the Germans with Matt's M1911. It definitely changed my focus from the glory of combat to the emotional and psychological suffering that those men had to endure. Also Frank N Beans
J. McKerch I loved the game over all, I remember first playing it on my brothers xbox when I was about 7 and it made me fall in love with just everything ww2 I found myself replaying all the missions over and over again just because I thought the game was so cool.
The jump scare in that game still haunts me. Dead kid flashbacks are just too much, going down the mental side of things with Baker slowly losing it was really good but the main part of Market Garden and the going from victory to defeat and then flight was incredible.
BIA was so ahead of his time. While other FPS games were action heavy and the story was a second thought,. BIA was a coherent emotional story from begin to end. Hopefully they revisit this IP someday.
I remember beating Hell's Highway, I was excited to go to Bastogne and maybe see Easy company in the next Brothers in Arms.... Im still waiting for that game.
@@rachaeldangelo1337 yeah, it’s been confirmed in september 2021 by one of the Gearbox guys that they are working on the 4th Brothers in arms game which is good news but ngl it’s taking a bit long tho.
@@Taishisama unfortunately not, if they won’t tease anything in a year then I will believe that Randy Pitchford is trolling us. He has been teasing the 4th game for like 10 years and still no new info.

We got so many BIA games not related to the core 3 games and yet we still dont have the last god damn game in the main series to finally finish the story
Cody Carden Gearbox stated that they are not developing it with Ubisoft anymore I order to make a more authentic brothers in arms game that’s more true to the franchise. Ubioft wanted to take the series in a new route. If you look up that brothers in arms trailer furious four the. You will know what I’m talking about. But we haven’t heard anything since this announcement a year ago.
Had the most realistic gameplay and story telling for it's time, truly blessed to have had these games in my life as a kid. I'm very proud of my gaming past because of games like this
I remember that i always try to go solo charging in this game so that my squad will survive, unfortunately, i keep dying since its not your typical run and gun game. And this is why i fell in love with this game uniqueness.
It's quite easy to run and gun if you can work around the weapon sway, but if you don't supress them quickly before moving, it's hard even on Easy mode.
it’s been confirmed in september 2021 by one of the Gearbox guys that they are working on the 4th Brothers in arms game which is good news but ngl it’s taking a bit long tho.
Words cannot properly convey just how much I loved this game, especially Earned in Blood. Lots of FPS games dabbled with squad mechanics but Brothers in Arms was the only one to truly give you command. You know a section attack is done right when you spend more time giving out orders than shooting. When you truly suppress the enemy who can suppress you. Enemies who pepperpot and cover each other between reloads. And Earned in Blood introduced AI that would displaced when they were at risk of being flanked. And that's what made these games (save Hell's Highway) truly special - it was a thinking man's FPS. It wasn't about accuracy or reflexes, it was about tactical acumen and grasping the flow of the battle. A lot of my friends struggled to coordinate the two fireteams and most could only coordinate one. It's also why I hated Hell's Highway. A 3rd person view allowed you to issue commands, view the terrain, etc all while under cover. It defeated the whole point of suppression. I hope one day we'll see another FPS such as Earned in Blood.
I’m pretty sure they literally said you could switch to a 3d point of view to command your troops in other brothers in arms games (like the first two) and not only in hells highway which apparently why you hated it.
absolutely. it says something that this channel creates such fantastic videos and yet they get few views in comparison to such utter crap pop shows. they dont rely on clickbait or factory trash. im glad GVMERS are still going well and please if you're not a broke SOB like me do hit them up on patrion or wherever cause theres just nobody like them.
I was 12 when I got Hill 30. I was already a huge WW2 fan and I fell in love with the series... the only series to this day that holds a big place in my heart! I was 12 years old but holy hell, I felt every single death in the games like I knew the characters all my life. And man... that soundtrack was gorgeous.
Unfortunately, even if it releases, expect the survivors to be killed in the end. The Battle of the Bulge was a brutal campaign, both for the Allies and the Axis.
I would also like to see the Holocaust touched upon too, Maybe Baker's squad comes across a Concentration Camp and find the horrors of the Nazi genocide like in the show Band Of Brothers
Every time i heard the soundtrack of BIA i get chills to the bone... I hope it comes back to saves us from the generic WWII plague of games! Awesome documentary definitely subscribing.
As much as I'd like to see a return of BiA, Randy Pitchford's involvement as this point pretty much guarantees a shallow, falsely marketed cash-grab which hides its laziness behind nostalgia. Furious 4's reveal wasn't just disappointing, it was repulsive, a misguided travesty on the level of Metal Gear Survive and Silent Hill Pachinko.
DrIvanRadosivic Gearbox botched ACM's development and shamelessly lied to their customers. They did the same thing with DNF, taking a long-awaited game and using its hype to sell a quickly scrambled unpolished mess.
DrIvanRadosivic We'll probably never know the exact series of events, but it's very likely there was some mismanagement of funds and development time in favor of Borderlands. Gearbox didn't need to pick the unfinished game up, they weren't pressured from the start into a rushed development. They used the already existing hype because they knew a lot of people would buy those games anyway. Troubled development is not an excuse when a different company takes the project over knowing all the attached baggage. They were the ones showing false gameplay videos, promising absolute bullshit mere weeks before the game's release. Pitchford still refuses to take responsibility for the disaster, even calling the barely playable and laughably bad game pretty good and whining about critics who rightfully tore it apart. A:CM wasn't fixed with patches, they just turned absolute garbage into slightly tolerable garbage which can technically be finished. You'd need to rework the AI, lighting, level design, storyline, voice-acting and key campaign moments to make it anything close to a good game.
DrIvanRadosivic I don't understand why you keep defending them. Randy Pitchford has shown time and time again that he'll do anything to sell his shit, be it straight-up lying, refusing to accept responsibility, reacting to criticism like a childish brat, cynically misusing other people's IPs, milking a franchise to the bone or sharing fan porn of his game. The man might've been passionate once, but right now he has no dignity and doesn't deserve anyone's trust. And yes, sometimes it's better for projects to just die. Maybe you're fine with paying 5$ for the game (I don't think it's even worth pirating, there are many games and devs much more deserving of that money), but the asking price was 60$. I didn't imagine that atmospheric gameplay trailer with intelligent buddies, terrifying xenomorphs and beautiful graphics. Gearbox showed it and it was in no way representative of the final product. It's not just a matter of wrong expectations because you'd have to expect a low-budget bargain bin shitshow to be impressed by anything in this game.
@@matman000000 Sega took Gearbox to court over misappropriation of funds they gave them specifically for Aliens Colonial Marines that Pitchford used instead for Borderlands.
Its 4:30am and I have work in a few hours! Why am I up watching a documentary about a game I never played? I'll tell you why. Because this channel is so damn good and informative that my need for knowledge is literally being taken advantage of! And I have no regrets! Its 100% worth the sleep deprived work day just sonic can learn more.
Now more than ever a Brother in Arms or Medal of Honor game with emotion planted throughout the story is what we need. It will take over what Call of Duty has recently lost.
When I sit down and play Brothers in arms from Road to Hill 30 all the way to Hell's Highway I can actually put myself in the boots of the main characters, i feel every little victory of a firefight to watching Doyle die right in front of me as Red it showed that people put a lot of care into making the game feel real. I wish they'd carry on the series whether it's following Baker's story or even perhaps seeing it through the eyes of Sam Corrion as he goes on his own journey or even him following Baker's orders for example. B-BA-BAKER!!!!
Brothers in arms was a big inspiration for me to join the Army. Granted, I found that real life was nothing like the video games, but I still used the idea of fight, fix, flank, finish (though now it’s suppress, flank, and destroy)* and occasionally I have a smile when I remember games like this. Also, video games didn’t prepare me for doing pointless training, SIRs, and picking up private’s from the MPs for drunk driving.
I don't know, Titanfall 2, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare's campaign, Red Orchestra 2/Rising Sun, and a chosen few others are nice. Of course, I still admit that there are more great 90s/2000s FPS games than there are 2010s ones.
Thank you for such a good video on one of my favorite series! I think that Rendroc's mod collection deserves a mention, however. They are a series of mods that drastically improve both Road to Hill 30 and Earned in Blood on PC adding new contextual orders, new abilities such as vaulting (not that they always work), improving AI, and authentic sounds for the various weapons. So not only is this mod important for the full realization of the game and gameplay but it really highlights the things that the community feel are important in the game and the devotion to it.
I just remember that, i soilder is a vivid person ,who has his own temper and his unique story, not simply a number . This documentary is a mourn of it , i will always remember this dramatic game
And the WWII shooter genre itself died off by 2007 especially with COD 4 Modern Warfare which took the setting from wartorn Europe and Asia to the Middle East such as Iraq and Eastern Europe
2000-2010 the golden era of gaming i'm so lucky i was active user during this decade . No social justice,no dumb toxic weaboo squickers in online games no twitch ,Game publishers had respect for theimselves and the gamers the communities was smaller in numbers and more mature and they was selling better quality games with out playing tricks on their customers with fees and dlc shit also game critics was honest about their rates .
There's no need to worry with time travel possibly being real we will go back to this era and reappraciate the hard work and dedication that developers had then.
@mysteryman2024 That actually exists. It's called Postal 2, and there is indeed a level where you do get to slaughter SJWs (given they're in the form of anti-violent video game protesters, but still cathartic non-the-less).
same as all the rest. you're the most underrated channel on youtube for games. absolutely fantastic videos EVERY SINGLE TIME. thank you for your devotion to content and quality. Theres no-one quite like you and thats just incredible in this day and age on this medium.
Brothers in arms was such a brilliant series! I loved how it was pretty much dedicated to the history of ww2, more specifically the normandy invasion and operation market garden with the help of a fictional squad of soldiers in a non fictional parachute regiment. It was brilliant and was a game that needed no multiplayer. When they released hells highway in what was then current gen graphics i was so amazed at how beautiful it looked and played, the graphic body dismemberment too was good. The characters made you care for them too. I wish they made a 4th in todaya generation if gaming, be like a band of brothers 2 but in game form. To this day at certain times you can find a dedicated group of people playing multiplayer on hells highway but they treat it like a clan sort of thing. Try it, if you find them you will know what im talking about.
DrIvanRadosivic dont bullshit! I didnt know they are developing a new band of brothers? And i dont like battleborn if im honest, im more into shooters, racing games and flying games. Especially if they are historical or star wars.
*shudders* I really hate it when we play as Allied soldiers fighting in Arnhem and Njimegen. Really makes me hesitate watching "A Bridge Too Far" every single time. However, I was somehow happy when I was pinning down the Brits on Company of Heroes' Axis-centered take of Operation Market Garden. Still not sure why.
You also had the Pacific theatre too simultaneous with the war in Europe, In the Asiatic Pacific War you had Midway, Guadalcanal, Tarawa, Saipan and Iwo Jima along with the Chinese front and Burma trail, Saipan actually took place the same time as Normandy depicted here
These games are so good, they deserve remakes and new releases. Considering those games are very old now, it is still highly recommended to play them even today.
There's no numbered BIA titles. They all have a description. BIA1: road to hill 30, 2: Earned in Blood, 3: Hell's highway. In fact I see earned in blood as expansion. Same engine, same graphics, same time frame, same battles. Only thing that changed is perspective of a different character.
I was 6 or 7, and it was my first FPS game ever. So after I found other FPS games, I was like "Where's the realism? Where's my squad to help me? Why is it just me gunning down everyone?" I'm not saying modern WW games suck now, *Cough* Battlefield 1 *Cough* I just wish more FPS games set in WWII could be as realistic as Brothers in Arms.
We will, it’s been confirmed in september 2021 by one of the Gearbox guys that they are working on the 4th Brothers in arms game which is good news but ngl it’s taking a bit long tho.

I love the Brother in arms series so much, they are my all time favorite WWII games. I wish they would continue with that series, or at least make all the games in HD for the current consoles or better yet, make a remastered version of ever games! I miss those games so much, the stories, the gameplay, the graphics, the sound, everything was so great about these games, the best WWII games ever made imo
I was Just a 10 yo kid Who was amazed by the game and loved every moment of it... Now.. 21 years old, still waiting for that „to be continued" to finally Come... I dont even know what to say... 11 years flew so fast..
Have to agree I know RtH30 and EiB have their places in a lot of peoples hearts, HH really delivered in what i think is dying in the FPS segment of games these days. The story was hard hitting, and enjoyable. Unfortunately Gearbox let it end on such a "there will be a sequel" note, and nothing to show.
I honestly think you're the best gaming channel on youtube. youre the David Attenborough of gaming history. its not lost n all of us and if I was a rich man id be throwing you money. wish I was. thank you GVMERS for being a genuine and quality channel. huge love from UK. im sick of your lack of subs while idiots with no passion waltz around making bs videos. im gonna promote your stuff absolutely everywhere as much as I can.
DrIvanRadosivic Well too bad!!! The game got cancelled and theres no chance to get Furious 4 back since Gearbox only milking money on Borderland series..
Road to Hill 30 hit different, seeing the Battle of Carentan through a very very unique perspective made it surreal. The characters and their stories are timeless. A truly perfect game.
That's... actually a nice and logical title. It can also make some sort of bookends with Road to Hill 30, provided the series theoretically ends in SoB. Wait a minute... SoB?!
1:46 it may be simple but for me this is the best opening scene i have seen in a videogame it means a lot to me because that was the start of my first ever first person shooting game.
They weren't just the AI. they were my men, my boys. And I'm not ashamed to say I cried everytime one of them died. I never wanted to waste them in battle.
if gearbox is watching this or reading this, when i first saw brothers in arms on 2020, i was amazed of the gameplay and on how to rely on your allies and the tacticalness of the game, it was the first time i feel that the ingame characters was real, when i first played Brothers in arms earned in blood just this year i was surprised on how they made the game it was amazing the gun play the gameplay etc, a long time ago i was call of duty fan and i was trying to find a game like this so... i played brothers in arms 3 well.. it did worked but it did not gave me the same feelings as what Brothers in arms RTH30, EIB gave me... it changed everything so.. if gearbox if your reading this, i hope you continue the franchise, i wont make you all work faster i will be waiting for the next brothers in arms game... all of us are excited. and God Bless. FROM: a brothers in arms fan ( take us much time btw, dont rush the game )
The narration before each mission in road to hill 30 and earned in blood can still give you chills, the voice actors were so perfectly casted, I think with BFV going so Fucking crazy on the spectrum we really need a reality check and just want something super realistic, difficult and grounded in reality, a game for adults that can appreciate the hardships and sacrifice every single military veteran gives.
Watching this video really bums me out. I loved Brothers in Arms so much in highschool. While Hell's Highway went off the path a bit I was excited for the next game and the battle of the bulge. Thanks for the awesome video! Even with it bumming me out.
we need something like this again! i'm sick of futuristic games and those multiplayer only videogames, most of developers care more about a masive multiplayer instead of a good story
You know what I would do? I would put the next game in the Korean War. Have some of the first trilogy's characters as supporting characters. UN forces in Korea were surrounded, and faced major setbacks, A perfect setting for the drama, yet a completely virgin setting for gaming.
R3GARnator Great idea, it would be more or less an original concept and able to help players be aware that there is a war between WW2 and the Vientnam conflict due to the fact that the Korean war is normally known as The Forgotten War.
Not a bad idea. I'd love a Korean War game, but as an avid fan of the 3 main games, Baker's story needs to be finished. They were supposed to fight in the Battle of the Bulge. Hell's Highway ended with a hallucination of Leggit asking Baker if he could handle snow (alluding to the Bulge). Either Baker dies especially now that Hartstock is out of the war, or he returns home a broken man the way his father did after WW1.
6:30 to the defense of the devs, they explained that soldiers would spend hours pouring over all topographical data of the area, and would therefore have that kind of knowledge. As players, we are not privy to this nor do we care to commit such memory to things at that level of detail, so we get the overhead map. Awesome vid, btw. BIA was my favorite fps right up until the 360 version killed it.
I really wish you made "The Rise and Fall of Quake", even though most people overlook Quake 2, even Quake 4 is remembered for screwing over the franchise, people forget Quake 2 had tons of mods before Half Life became the focus of mods. It's possible to say Action Quake 2 was one of the influences that created Counter Strike.
The.Best.Trilogy ever made. The.Best.War.Trilogy ever made. Man, I so felt for Baker. I really liked Red too. Leggett was such a great person and oh dont forget about Allen and Corrion, so sad they had that argument with Leggett about those comic book heroes. Those were the days... Brotherhood lived.

DrIvanRadosivic how's Battleborn these days Randy?
DrIvanRadosivic what the fuck are you talking about, Battleborn stopped updating the game and ceased official support for it
I was so mad when they tried pushing that bastardization. I lost all interest in the franchise.
That shit was bad.
Shut up
Same, It was a very different game and much darker in tone than even Call Of Duty in some areas especially World At War. The main issue unfortunately is Sgt Baker has PTSD which is very real for soldiers especially in WWII due to the horror and atrocities of that dark era, Even releasing Brothers In Arms today would be a major problem because of the antisemitism going on with neo nazis out there
One of the best informative gaming-based channels of all time. For real. If not THE best. Keep up the great work, guys!
Kaftann I'm looking for more of this style of content, any suggestions? Got Raycevik too, but no one else does it as good!
Check out Whitelight's channel, he does the best type of the these videos, imo. There's also Noah Caldwell-Gervais & The Act Man.
When a video shows up you know you're in for something great.
If you're up for great gaming content, but different from GVMERS I suggest you pick up on gggmanlives, Caddicarus or DYKG ;-)
Kaftann O dzięki Kaftannku, też mi się przyda 😀
Chociaż z wszystkich ulubionych kanałów jest Noah Caldwell-Gervais.
I still get chills to this day when I think about the scenes with Leggett screaming "take me"! as he fires at the Germans with Matt's M1911. It definitely changed my focus from the glory of combat to the emotional and psychological suffering that those men had to endure. Also Frank N Beans
Wow! Hell's Highway still looks incredible! Was always impressed by the lighting effects in that game.
Sounds were amazing as well.
J. McKerch I loved the game over all, I remember first playing it on my brothers xbox when I was about 7 and it made me fall in love with just everything ww2 I found myself replaying all the missions over and over again just because I thought the game was so cool.
@@Root174 Yeah man. the sound was awesome when cranked up.
The jump scare in that game still haunts me. Dead kid flashbacks are just too much, going down the mental side of things with Baker slowly losing it was really good but the main part of Market Garden and the going from victory to defeat and then flight was incredible.
I disagree. I always thought the final game fell short of the impressive E3 gameplay demo.
BIA was so ahead of his time. While other FPS games were action heavy and the story was a second thought,. BIA was a coherent emotional story from begin to end. Hopefully they revisit this IP someday.
No it wasn't ahead of its time
Correct. So much has been cut and paste since late ps2 early ps3 days with the boom of online play. Next gen experiences are a lie
I remember beating Hell's Highway, I was excited to go to Bastogne and maybe see Easy company in the next Brothers in Arms.... Im still waiting for that game.
I was for sure they were gonna make a battle of the bulge game
@@rachaeldangelo1337 yeah, it’s been confirmed in september 2021 by one of the Gearbox guys that they are working on the 4th Brothers in arms game which is good news but ngl it’s taking a bit long tho.
@@yourfriendlyjacob1171any more news?
@@Taishisama unfortunately not, if they won’t tease anything in a year then I will believe that Randy Pitchford is trolling us. He has been teasing the 4th game for like 10 years and still no new info.
@@yourfriendlyjacob1171 God I hate that guy. They want to shove borderlands down our throats so badly while ignoring one of the best FPS games ever released. We got so many BIA games not related to the core 3 games and yet we still dont have the last god damn game in the main series to finally finish the story
I absolutely LOVED brothers in arms. I’ve been waiting to fight bastogne for years now. Come on Ubisoft!
But we haven’t heard anything since this announcement a year ago.
shooting with the kar98k in BiA was sooo satisfying
@GoldenShellback I could never hit anything with the M1, I always picked up a Kar 98 as soon as possible
ithink dragon fire is good too
It's a pretty good choice too, considering it tends to instantly kill whatever's threatening you. That and the BAR, oh yeah.
And that's the reason why it was included in PUBG
@@fredherbert7920 The Thompson isn't bad once you've flanked the Krauts, M1A1 Carbine is pretty good over the M1 Garand for its fire rate too
I still occasionally redownload these on Steam and play through them. Enjoy them every time I play.
I love Brothers in Arms and seeing this video on my suggestions made me cry a little!
Rest in Peace Legett.
This game is so realistic it makes you value your soldiers lives more than your own, just like real soldiers do.
The moment when you start feeling old, as you recognize that Hell´s Highway is already 11 years old......Damn!
I remember clicking the preorder way back when....jeez makes me feel old as shit..and still no BIA 4 coming anytime soon. Pfft.
it’s been confirmed in september 2021 by one of the Gearbox guys that they are working on the 4th Brothers in arms game which is good news but ngl it’s taking a bit long tho.
Seems like it gets a year older every year
First three games are currently on sale packaged together on Steam for 4.99.
Vincent Faust 13 for me
Words cannot properly convey just how much I loved this game, especially Earned in Blood.
But you can do half of them when you press V in first game
I’m pretty sure they literally said you could switch to a 3d point of view to command your troops in other brothers in arms games (like the first two) and not only in hells highway which apparently why you hated it.
Literally, Hells Highway went "Hollywood typical" by deleting assault option and squad revived on the next stage
Skill issue
such an underrated channel
absolutely. it says something that this channel creates such fantastic videos and yet they get few views in comparison to such utter crap pop shows. they dont rely on clickbait or factory trash. im glad GVMERS are still going well and please if you're not a broke SOB like me do hit them up on patrion or wherever cause theres just nobody like them.
I still think that a realistic BiA sequel set during the Battle of the Buldge and the invasion of Nazi Germany would be very well received today!
Unfortunately, even if it releases, expect the survivors to be killed in the end. The Battle of the Bulge was a brutal campaign, both for the Allies and the Axis.
@@michaelandreipalon359 idk out of 13 men only baker and the other 4 survive, suck that harstock is paralyze.
DrIvanRadosivic oh pls gearbox is to blame for that mess to bot working on that game while using its resources to funs bl2

@@foxdie1001 Ouch.
Now more than ever a Brother in Arms or Medal of Honor game with emotion planted throughout the story is what we need. It will take over what Call of Duty has recently lost.
Beautifully done. As good as full length TV documentaries. From the narration to the editing. Awesome work as always!
Hells highway was amazing. Really hope i see a game like this again. Ww2 games back in the day are so inspirational.
Best ww2 game I have honestly ever played, it really focused on the story which I liked and the missions are also based on irl ww2 events
Man i absolutely loved this series. One of the very few i actually always wanted to see making a comeback.
Ill take any 2000s WW2 game over any war game from this decade...
Brothers in Arms was great. It gave you an impression of what war is like. No heroes, just a couple of guys fighting to survive the madness.
Hey GVMERS, you should do an episode on the SOCOM games
Yes, please.

Idiotic Tirades Calm down, dude.
This series is like a veteran, popular hero back then, forgotten today.
One of the best frachises about WW2.
THE best
And also the darkest too, Even COD World At War doesn't compare to the grittyness of Brothers In Arms

I want Brothers in Arms 4! Best series ever. I was 4 years when I played it.
Furious 4 is cancer. Don't ever mention that "FPS Moba" shit around loyal BIA fans.
I was 6 or 7, and it was my first FPS game ever.
So after I found other FPS games, I was like "Where's the realism? Where's my squad to help me? Why is it just me gunning down everyone?"
I'm not saying modern WW games suck now, *Cough* Battlefield 1 *Cough* I just wish more FPS games set in WWII could be as realistic as Brothers in Arms.
Furious 4 wasn't even close to a MOB A lmao. It was just a Co-Op shooter.
@@xFlared Brother's in Arms: Road to Berlin would be awesome IF they stayed true to the series which i highly doubt

I love the Brother in arms series so much, they are my all time favorite WWII games. I wish they would continue with that series, or at least make all the games in HD for the current consoles or better yet, make a remastered version of ever games! The best game in the series IMO is BiA: Hell's Highway
Its the worst one.
Solid T hill 30 is the best for me, i feel ike hells highway was downgraded and the gameplay was simplified.
Have to agree
I know RtH30 and EiB have their places in a lot of peoples hearts, HH really delivered in what i think is dying in the FPS segment of games these days. The story was hard hitting, and enjoyable. Unfortunately Gearbox let it end on such a "there will be a sequel" note, and nothing to show.
I liked HH the most, but mostly because it's set where I live. Was really nice to see a game set around your neighbourhood
InfinitePotato Hells highway was the best.

Road to Hill 30 hit different, seeing the Battle of Carentan through a very very unique perspective made it surreal. The characters and their stories are timeless. A truly perfect game.
We need a new part of franchise: Brothers in Arms: Siege of Bastogne.
That's... actually a nice and logical title.
I feel that not that many games do that nowadays. The only other game that comes to mind is spec ops the line

FROM: a brothers in arms fan ( take us much time btw, dont rush the game )
You guys should cover the SOCOM Navy SEALS series next
The narration before each mission in road to hill 30 and earned in blood can still give you chills, the voice actors were so perfectly casted, I think with BFV going so Fucking crazy on the spectrum we really need a reality check and just want something super realistic, difficult and grounded in reality, a game for adults that can appreciate the hardships and sacrifice every single military veteran gives.
All 3 PC games are on sale on Steam now in a pack for € 3.74. Just bought them now because of this video lol.
Watching this video really bums me out. I loved Brothers in Arms so much in highschool. While Hell's Highway went off the path a bit I was excited for the next game and the battle of the bulge.
Thanks for the awesome video! Even with it bumming me out.
Road to Hill 30 soundtrack is a masterpiece.
This is exactly the video I was looking for on the series. You guys make the best stuff!
we need something like this again! i'm sick of futuristic games and those multiplayer only videogames, most of developers care more about a masive multiplayer instead of a good story
I'm seriously loving this channel and its documentaries.
Played hell's highway endlessly was a brilliant game, always hoped that someone would develop the follow on into the Ardenne forest and into Germany.
The type of education that I barely yawn. Keep them coming. Thank you.
What a great idea!
Plus the player could control characters from dozens of different countries. Could be a great game
You would shoot Chinese forces though. That's not gonna go down well with any of the major publishers
This game changed my life, especially as a kid. I loved it so much and it taught me the importance of effective story telling.
Its such a shame it never got completed. BIA is by far one of the best and emotional series ever put to a war game.
I'm a simple man, I see GVMERS, I click.
My favorite world war 2 series. It actually evoked an emotional response to it.
That would be more of a "The Rise and Fall and Rise again..."
Not really, Quake is still dead and Quake Champions is just the desecration of it's corpse.
The.Best.Trilogy ever made.
The.Best.War.Trilogy ever made.
Man, I so felt for Baker.
I really liked Red too.
Leggett was such a great person and oh
dont forget about Allen and Corrion, so sad they had that argument with Leggett about those comic book heroes.
Those were the days... Brotherhood lived.
