"How do you feel about snow?" "I can handle snow" That's more than enough a reason to demand a sequel, and still waiting for one. It's a cliffhanger as cliffhanger can get.
To reasons why continuing for Hell's Highway wasn't announced we should remember that WW2 games in that times started or already dropped in audience attention and willing to play. We wanted more modern or futuristic shooters. Medal of Honor after Airborne switched to modern times, Call of Duty fully did it in 2009. You can't make BiA in modern times, because it is about specific characters and events. But now is perfect time to make a comeback: develop remakes of first 3 games to modern consoles and announce Hell's Highway "sequel". Still thanks for the video. Somehow missed those early E3 content where Ubisoft tried to false advertising their games before Watch Dogs/Division/Rainbow 6 😄
I think Brothers In Arms especially Hells Highway is the darkest WWII game even compared to World At War which came out the same time as HH, There are no gung ho moments like in Call Of Duty and Medal Of Honor or Battlefield and everytime someone dies it takes a toll on Baker's mind giving him what is assumed to be PTSD with flashbacks especially about Leggett's death. I like how the realism of warfare is depicted in Brothers In Arms which makes it one of the greatest and hidden gems made
I agree, it's not a perfect series but it's one of my favourites. Thank you for stopping by and watching the full retrospectives on both games, I appreciate that!
That's very interesting! I'm glad they decided to scrap that concept. It would be cool as a side mode, but I'd rather have a strong singleplayer campaign.
@@tsfullerton Yes and that score is awesome! The point I made here is that you barely hear any of it in-game. I talk about this as well in my previous video.
Recently beat it, tbh i thought they would have had a sequel between those years, sad to know they didn’t, amazing game that deserves to have it be continued
@12:53 one time on the second mission I was running across the big field while i had my squads supressing the germans and out of no where I took a round n dropped dead and had to start again from the previous checkpoint. Thats the only time i recall it happening but it shows that even without the danger indicator (red screen) you can still take a round and drop immeditaly. Was just a AI german that was firing over his head from cover and got lucky with his K98.
I played all three games on Steam, they ran perfectly. Except for one pathing bug in the first game, which you can fix by locking the frame rate to 60. Hope you enjoy the games :)
Even though Hells Highway wasnt that good (useless tank missions with cartoonish tanks), sometimes weak animations and some characters arks that just dont work, bad character models and change of HP system i still had a tonn of fun playing it for the first time. I really hope we will see a new game set during Ardenns battle.
@@GameTalesHQ actually i like the game. Its just some parts of it that just dont work. But still the atmosphere of Operation Makret Garden was impressive.
great video analysis, thank you for the trip down nostalgia lane (or highway) :) BiA sequel is there in limbo along with HL3 and the continuation of Kain&Raziel story..
Here to again make the suggestion of the original Star Wars Battlefront 2 or XIII (Thirteen). Love the work, keep on the good content that you are passionate about
@@GameTalesHQ I’ll watch anything you put out, as I only played about half of the games in the videos you have done. But they hit with a nostalgia feeling that makes it soooo worth it. I will be cheeky and throw a similar comment suggesting them into future videos tho. Not in an angry way or anything tho.
I just hope if they do make a sequel to Hell's Highway, it won't be another terrible historically inaccurate cash grab like that one COD game with the letter V on it
If we ever get a sequel to the series, I will be the happiest man on earth. I remember playing RTH30 in my PS2 when I was like 8 years old and got EIB after finishing it and it was kinda love at first sight. HH was one of my firs PS3 games as well and I recall, on my first Band of Brothers watch after the battle of Carentan, when Easy gets on the perimeter to stop the german counterattack how similar the whole thing was to Brothers in Arms. I told to myself "I've seen this somewhere" and then it all came togheter. The fact that they never did the sequel is also the factor that has made me completely UNABLE to play any Borderlands game.
it is really sad that they ended an long and big era of brothers in arms since brothers in arms in its times was a very good game from graphic to gameplay and also that it was traveling through all consoles like Nintendo, PSP, etc the game till this day is working without a problem the game story is still blast if you go through all 3 main games and it offers a lot of moments that really feels like war even the graphic just fitted into these WW2 theme like by its colors and etc so I m mad that they really never bring it back what were they worrieing that they would destroy it like every game in this era? or what what is actually holding them back from delivering probably last chapter of the game its really unprofessionall to end game with ending saying to be continued they could have any time delete that last part but they didn t so where is the damn sequal?

I personally found the pinball game to be a stunning and emotional conclusion to the franchise.
Haha, what cliffhanger? We already have the perfect sequel!
The Pinball game. Good one. I get it. My boys are the flippers in Hell's Highway.

A sequel after all these years would be amazing, pffff
@@GameTalesHQ I still remember hearing those lines 16 years ago, still waiting :)
Bad Company 2 and Hell's Highway, both war games suffering from lack of a snow infested sequel.
Probably after Leggett said that the next Brothers in Arms would takes us to Bastogne

Yep, I talk about the state of WW2 shooters at the end of the video! And thank you for watching and the comment 👊🏼
Actually Mr pitchford said that gearbox is making a new brothers in arms game
Fingers crossed that he can actually get it done this time.

This franchise needs to return.
It certainly does!
Peak RUclipsr & Peak video
I think originally there was suppose to be co-op and a longer campaign with Red as a playable character. It was marketed in the now offline webpage.
That's very interesting! I'm glad they decided to scrap that concept. It would be cool as a side mode, but I'd rather have a strong singleplayer campaign.
@@GameTalesHQ Agreed, Multiplayer was the weakest part of HH since it was tacked on and made by a outsourced developer.
@@GameTalesHQ A side mode. A stronger single-player campaign. That would be Skirmish Mode in Earned In Blood. Nothing more challenging. Cheers.
Each of the first two games have twelve musical scores including photographs of the orchestra. All of them can be opened in the Extras menus. Cheers.

“NO, NOT THAT ONE!”
one of my all time favorites. Would be so happy for the new one!

16 years for a cliff hanger is nothing - cries in megaman legends
There are definitely more game franchises that have recieved this treatment sadly - also cries in Half Life 2
We need to conclude this amazing series!

It's such a mixed bag of a game right? But it ends up being more than the sum of it's parts. In the end, I can't help but love the game.
