    how did I miss this one? 10/10. A nightmarish blend of avarice, nigh-infinite physical force, and the churlish petulance of a spoiled Amnish noble. Red dragon lore is magnificent, folks, and this is the deepest dive you'll find on RUclips.
    Awesome, awesome stuff, Rich!
    If you watched this video, Riches and Liches has an absolutely intoxicating treatment of the white dragon, which I cannot recommend well enough. This channel presents lore with masterly narration and sublime, original imagery--love it.

      Yes the red dragon video is subpar and i have said as much in other videos. It will be getting a full/longer remaster at some point. Apologies for its shortcomings.

    Perhaps have the party encounter a young red dragon and and have the encounter start the battle leaving the vain dragon with a deep wound and a lasting scar on its otherwise perfect scales imagine the dragon nursing a wound and a grudge only to meet the same party at a later time ooo would they ever be a fight

    Wow, I didnt even consider their lair as part of what I needed to think about! Lots to think about here when making a dragon.

      Imagine you see a big Red Dragon opening a boulder only to eat the contents out of it like a walnut. What? 🤔 They don't know it used to be an intrusive ogre that was splashed several times by magma. "Just the right amount of char."
      I think it would be incredible if the big Red Dragon just stood back from them a few hundred feet in the magma and just splashed them like a child in a swimming pool. Anyone without area protection would likely take some good damage, maybe item damage.
      Hopefully they would be close to the soot filled tunnel in and could retreat. They would have to find another way in because the magma would cool and block it eventually or reconsider completely. It would be terrifying knowing the dragon was just under the surface of the magma at any time. Or hanging from the ceiling in the darkness like a huge bat.

    Still liking the videos, although I prefer the longer ones. There is so much to talk about the mighty red dragon. This look at them barely scratched the surface.

    New channel providing nice and digestable lore snippits I can steal 😉?
    Cool thing.
    However, I don't mind longer videos. If those include tjings I do not find in ifficial sourcebooks.
    For instance, how the dragon manages to influence its environment. How are the game mechanics? Are there homebrew attempts???
    Details like that.

    • @RichesandLiches
      @RichesandLiches  Год назад +1

      That is the primary reason i creating the channel, it is not stealing when i offer it freely :)

      There are hundreds of typical DnD monster videos. I think this channel will be unique with the home brew concepts.

    You should do customizable races! Like different ways to play a hostile Thief, or different ways to play a necromancer, or even an Annus Hag! Going into playstyles can open so many video possibilities!

      @@RichesandLiches No problemo my dude! My BBEG in my current campaign is going to be an Annus Hag grafted with a giant octopus for an arm, an ice staff, and a spellbook of fogs! You can really do anything... I can't wait to see the videos!

    Definitely the longer episodes. I for one don't want to miss out on and of that juicy lore that I may not already know of. I listen to a lot of dnd lore on RUclips and your videos are way up there. I especially love the art. Do you use Midjourney by any chance?

    • @RichesandLiches
      @RichesandLiches  Год назад +2

      Could not agree more... The Red Dragon episode WILL be getting a complete remaster/rewrite/update. It was created when I first started and the proverbial "everyone" (not my community, just YT in general) told me to be FAST. I have since learned that (IMO) TTRPG lore fans... are not the typical low attention span viewers and appreciate the depth... definitely an early lesson learned.
      If you have watched the Blue Dragon video... that will much closer to the standard/lowest bar for lore videos moving forward.
      Thank you for the comments and let me know if you see improvement.

    In my campaign world I've been making. The red dragon is head of the banking system, dragons hoard wealth so what better way than to be a banker. I figured if a king defaults on a debt, he would wake up to find a city in his kingdom had burnt to ground in the night or an army never made it to back from a campaign. Also I dragons are rare, because if they were common it would change the world to something players wouldn't recognize. Like you couldn't have crops like wheat to easy to burn so everyone would plant roots under the ground. Livestock? Too easy to lose to dragon flying overhead. Cities would be underground, wood buildings are our. So dragons have to be very uncommon or the world would be so different from what players are used too. It could be done but rather spend time doing other things.

    • @RichesandLiches
      @RichesandLiches  Год назад +2

      That is an excellent use of the dragons supreme intelligence, avarice and intelligence! TBH the Red Dragon video needs to get a "do over" it was an earlier video where i was playing around with the idea of being "fast" or "short style" because that is what most channel "experts" say is the trend... but I do not believe that... at least for my audience so we have gone back to a long format.
      Red Dragon deserves better and will get a 2.0 update in the future.
      Thank you for checking it out... but i hope you judge me on a more recent video :)

      This video is lacking and I need to remaster it. I was trying to make "quick" videos... and that is just not my style. I hope to get a Red Dragon Remaster out sometime in 2024.

    Just think about how unique your player character is within just decades. If you lived in a D&D fantasy world, just think about the unique abilities and skills you would develop as a centuries old magical being, always protecting your home from thieves and genocidal groups.
    Great. So now use that creature in your adventures.
    Dragons should be as unique as the players are. You would learn a lot of skills under those claws too.
    Just think about magical items they could've had made for them (they would be able to afford it).

    It just shows you the power and fear and the respect you should have for these dragons. The last campaign I was and I almost died to a red dragon. How I killed the Beast? I jumped off its head and stabbed it right. And it's back plunging my great sword into its spine and twisting it, causing the Beast to thrash around in pain as the dragon fell on top of me. But somehow my character survived cause. I used 3 death saving throws. I succeeded
    Luckily the lake that the dragon fell into broke my fall

      Thank you for watching that video in particular... it was created early in the channel's creation and it is on my short list those in need of a vastly expanded remaster!
      I can promise you the update will far exceed that one... the mighty red dragon deserves... nay... DEMANDS better! :)

      @RichesandLiches copper or bronze are* the most unique to me. The bard-istc playfulness of coppers or the jaded justice of Bronze are both something I'd love to get more inspiration on.

    I really enjoyed your previous videos, but this one is far too short. Frankly, other channels give large amounts of information. If you have nothing new to add, then you have nothing new to add. Please post longer and more informative videos.
