Now THAT is exactly what I was talking about! Dragons should be more than a colour. The dragon is the environment or influence and they are the dragon. I was thinking that periodically the players notice that there is a pattern in the rock, or a mural that shifts slightly into the faint impression of an eye that is watching them. Only visible out of the corner of their eyes. Then they come upon a rock face or ancient crumbling mosaic. If they notice it in that larger surface and stare at it, like a magic eye poster, it suddenly comes into view sharply. The 2-3’ pupil looks at each visible party member and then the rock blinks and the rock or mosaic reforms leaving anyone who saw it wondering if it was ever there. An illusion or something more?
I couldn't agree with that more. I've never been a fan of using any creature 100% straight from the stats in a book. I've always been a homebrew freak. But Dragons? They MUST be unique. They should be just as tweaked as any end of adventure Big Bad Guy. Never copy and paste a Dragon.
Really good lore video sir. The dragons lore are my favorite, I love how they are creatures of born from the same dragon god of order that create from its splitting Bahamut and Tiamat, two opposite sides of Order, Good and Evil.
Great video as always. FWIW ive had good luck qith petrification being a by product of damage. So the breath weapon does less damage initially, but does damage over three rounds. If the pkayet takes a certain amount of damage they are petrified for a time.
Love it. Could let the players hatch the egg but it starts out as a wyrmling and takes the appropriate years to grow to adulthood. Crafty players may find a creature with the ability to age creatures to speed up the growing process but as a DM I would add negative effects if they took that route. Perhaps the dragon wouldn't have as much HP or one of its abilities would not be fully functional. Great Content keep it up.
Agreed. I've never thought of "aging" magics as beneficial. It might produce a runt with severe physical deficiencies. Still potent but the rush of life has crippled it in ways. After the first time I would think the victim would think "No, that hurts badly". And might have Arthritis in its joints. A 10 year old dragon in a 50 year old body might still be a young dragon in personality. Immature and lacking wisdom.
Great question! Volume 6 is in production and will be somewhere in the 60-90 minutes range in terms of length. I owe the promised Black Dragon Part 2 coming next week and then The Nine Hells volume 6 will be up!
How would these creatures work as warlock patrons? Because these would make very interesting patron options. Another question. What kind of weapons can you make from a stone dragon?
Personal choice I guess. I am a fan of variety, but thats why its homebrew so you can choose to ignore. :) Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment, really appreciate your time.
Thank you! and if my previous comment was not clear, I completely respect your position. That is what I love about D&D in particular, we get to choose and WotC does not get to dictate what is at our table (although they are trying :)

Stone dragons rock.
It's a hard fight.
What a great homebrew. Richard Knaak did a stone dragon in "Kaz the Minotaur," but nothing to this level of detail. Awesome!
That was a great book. Old. Many years ago. ❤
A cup of coffee for a home-brewed dragon. Paladine's blessing upon this channel!
Thank you for the support!

This was down right AWQESOME!!
You're sooo good at atmosphere and unique renditions of homebrew.

Great work as always. I look forward to all your videos.

I would beat your Negatives and make it work lol
We can't have enough dragons. New sub!
What about the nine hells?

I'd love to play in one of your campaigns
