Up against rivals such as the BMW 5 Series, Mercedes Benz E Class, Lexus ES, Volvo S90, Jaguar XF, Genesis G80, DS9, Tesla Model S and Lucid Air will the Audi still come out in top?

I have the 2006 version of this car. I've owned it since 2011 and it's currently on 168,000 miles. As you said if you look after it it'll reward you with brilliant service. There's very few cars with the carrying ability of this car so I'll be keeping mine until ut drops dead. 😊

I just bought one from 2009, but an SE as opposed to the S Line with an immaculate cloth interior. Given we are due to go to Italy shortly, having leather could have proved problematic when the car sits in the sun for hours! I am normally a sucker for leather but on this occasion i am quite happy about having cloth. I was previously driving a Vauxhall Vectra C estate 1.9 cdti as the "doggy car" (I have other cars for fun) and it wasn't without its faults but at 130k miles it had never driven so well and parts were cheap, so I sold it to my best mate who knows what work has been done to it. This audi a6 avant i bought has just 79k on the clock, so i'd be delighted if it could take me to the moon too!!! Looking forward to learning more about the car but i love driving it on long journeys (recently did 500 miles in a day and it's very comfortable indeed! A step up from the Vectra as it has no rattling whatsoever).

It's certainly a wonderful long-distance cruiser. Very comfortable, and sounds like you've made a good choice!

@@BuckleUpShow well, I had to urgently fix the a/c system, service the front brakes (whoever had changed the pads hadn't bothered cleaning anything or greasing anything either, so done that to remove a tiny click click click noise when driving as the calipers weren't fully going back and forth as it should... Also fixed a rear window issue (needed lubricant to enable it to go up and down fully) and the front passenger door now doesn't open from the outside (should have been an MOT failure but wasn't notified). Ordered the part and hopefully will fit this weekend. Other than that, nothing to report... It's a 15 years old car though, so issues can always crop up... But let's hope it takes us to Italy and back without nasty surprises... I guess future will tell !🤣🤣

I've got a 2010 2.0 tdi 170 cr multitronic one with sline trims. It has some mechanical problems, but it is very nice to drive. A good upgrade over my 2008 A4 B7 1.9 tdi.

The reason the back lights were meshed is that they oxidised really badly and looked gnaff in the daylight.

Previous owner cheap-tinted the half rear lights instead of replacing them (they blur and crack with age) - closeups show the rear right quarter of the car's been in an accident. On the plus side it's a manual, instead of the crappy CVT gearbox.
11:40 ''wish there was a little bit more power'' - get it remapped, 138bhp on that is not quite enough (and I see a tow bar at the rear).

You Cant compare an a6 with the smallest engine an basicly no Extras with an volvo.
I Would like to See a test With an a6 3.0tdi air Suspension and automatic Transmission. That Would change everything.

There might be cup holder for rear passengers - a pop-out one in the front of the arm rest, but not every car has that option, mine is a cheap one with almost no extras (the simplest MMI, no Blutooth, no CD changer or navigation, no media controls on steering wheel, no cup holders for rear seat, no arm rest in the front, no folding mirrors), yet it has heating for all seats - rear row too, cruise control and xenon lights.
P.S. Scrolling direction of the MMI control wheel makes perfect sense, when drivers seat is on the left side, it's just that Brits have it on the other side, which sort of reverses it and makes counter-intuitive. 🤣

I almost bought one of these when I got my Passat B6 estate back in 2008. Interesting to see how the Audi interior has aged compared to mine.
The Audi is arguably the better looker for sure, but the Passat seems to do some things better too. It has 2 cup holders, door pockets for a 1.5L bottle and also rear cup holders. Weird thing for Audi to omit. Maybe it was an option?
I am considering getting rid of the Passat as I live near Bristol which now has a Low Emission Zone that the Euro 4 diesel isn't welcome in without paying the charge.
Otherwise its been retrofitted with a genuine VW Carplay/AA unit, multifunction wheel, colour instrument cluster and a reverse camera. I can't see the point in changing it for a newer model until it really dies. 167k miles and still going strong. Good old VAG engines!

      @BuckleUpShow  Год назад

It seems VW took a slightly more practical approach, whereas Audi focused more on "luxury"? These cars do last impressively well!

@@BuckleUpShow Well i guess it's just depends on the first owners choice. Mine have 2 cup holders on the back armrest aswell... Its a 2006 A6 2.0tdi like in the video and I'm in love with it :)🥰

I was expecting at least 400k miles,i have a Renault Laguna grandtour 2008 (2.0 dCi) and i have done 400k kilometers (250k miles) without any problems, still have the first turbo, i have not touched the engine, the gearbox or anything vital on the car. Only regular service and some minor fixes on suspension and brakes-regular maintenance. Also it has a chain so no servicing that either. So big thumbs up for the Laguna, still going strong even after owning it for 11 years. Nice videos, keep up the good work💪

The Renault engine is known to be very strong... But it's the electrics that usually play up. It's what made me go over to the Audi A6, otherwise I would have gone for the Laguna Estate

Different engine... The 3.0 TDI is known to be very very robust. If I would have had time when recently buying my A6 (2.0 TDI with 79k on the clock) I would have searched a low mileage 3.0 TDI in manual version, but beggars cannot be choosers, I needed a solid car quick to take to Italy for a 5k round trip!
