I'm here in NY, and we have a lot of goldfish in the Hudson river. I fish for gold fish all the time. They are actually quite fun to fish for. I usually use corn or a worm.
Nice Video mate. have been thinking to try the same myself. where did you research where to find as i have been struggling to find where they may be and where i am allowed to catch them.
There are a number of similar ponds we fish in Auckland for carp, perch, rudd and tench, mostly central and west, but I don't recognise these ponds. Maybe south Auckland I'm thinking?
Avid angler and didn't realize how easy Koi catchin was till I got out a couple weeks ago. Been out 5 times since and pulled in 6 Koi so far. Fishing in Ham. and caught in the same spot.
That’s way cool!!! My friend and Me almost caught one at a Public community pond…Really confusing right…? I posted it on my channel…They are fun to catch…Good content bro. Keep up the work. I respect the grind.
Is it legal to fish in a stormwater treatment pond, especially since this is a residential area? This pond is isolated and not connected to any rivers. Killing fish here might not significantly impact pest control in Auckland. It might be more effective to focus on removing koi from the Waikato River instead.
I don’t think so, but it is illegal to release them into the wild so it’s probably best not too release them, they’re technically pests too when in wild environments
Bc i have been trying to catch kois in the waikato river for about 2 years and the only time i ever got them was by impaling them in a spear but its quite cruel @@thatfishingfellanz
What a clown. Fish of that size and colour are rare here. Multiple people have had the pleasure of catching that particular fish, and now you've gone and murdered it. Your crusade to rid NZ of koi is completely pointless, they breed by the millions every year. 🤦♂️
My apologies for following the law. Legally they must be killed when caught. A fish like that is not a rare sight, there are plenty of giant koi like that one in NZ’s rivers and lakes. Yes they breed by the millions every year and killing a couple fish isn’t going to make a big difference, but it’s better to do something than nothing. If I can share with people, educate people, inform people that they are a pest and why they are such a problem in NZ. I can encourage more people to do the same and therefore make a difference. Also because I make videos and have a decent following, I need to lead by example, do the right thing and follow the law.
Nice vid bro good on ya for getting rid of a few koi

They're invasive and it's public land. It would be silly if it's not allowed. They shouldn't be in a storm drain either.
Is this by Stonefields?
Pro why you don’t eat it , 😅 or sell it to get money for you , or am I wrong ?
They don’t taste very good and it’s illegal too sell them
Yo I'm a kiwi where is that spot bro?
Is fishing allowed in this pond? I saw a sign that said not suitable for fishing?
Not suitable doesn’t mean no
I agree, double check with DOC, should be able to fish Koi there, Thx for share fishing place @@thatfishingfellanz
Do you have to kill the goldfish? As far as I can tell its not illegal to catch or transport goldfish?

@@thatfishingfellanz have you ever seen captive goldfish like those monsters you caught? That would be a great fish for a home pond
