🎉 for Federal taking care of you.
But, what do you mean -- we don't need to see you shoot some 80gn loads??? Of course we need to see that, too 😅
Thanks Dave. You're going to make your Grandson extremely happy. He will never forget this Rite of Passage from you. Maybe we'll see him continuing your show 40 years from now.
    Have a great week.

Looking for a review of the Federal Berger Hybrid Hunter and came across this video.
Glad it improved. Tickled that the BCA does well with it.
    Always enjoy your content!
PS I just checked and it looks like they don't offer 243 anymore. Disappointed. I was about to order one

That BCA is very impressive. Glad Federal fixed the issue. I will stick to loading my own Federal Fusion with Speer Gold Dots. Haha.

I can say that I've probably taken 20 or more Mississippi deer and hogs with this exact same load! Never an issue. Fusion bullets have been death stars on game from 0-250 yds in my experience!

Yes, the bullet is great but from the previous factory loadings, in my cases did not have enough powder. It appears Federal fixed the issue with the new ammo they sent me as replacements.

Glad they fixed the problem. I enjoyed the video as always! . That's why i usually add a superlative arms gb to my AR's. So i can adjust the gas system on the fly for any of my handloads or factory ammo. No need to mess with buffer weights, etc. for smooth operation.

Good afternoon Dave. Glad to see Federal backing up and supporting its customers. Fusion is a good bonded bullet overall. Nice rifles. BCA is a sweet setup too.
And yes we want to see you shoot the 80 grain loads. That's one of the very reasons we follow your YT and watch your vids, too.

I’m glad Federal took care of you! My 243 Win really likes those 95 grain Fusions. With a 22” barrel I get 2885 fps and 3/4” groups. I just wish I could buy those 95 grainers to reload since, in my limited experience, they do well on pronghorn.

Still kind of slow out of Camilla, if you ask me, but better at least. Almost FIFTY fps/inch off the box speed. 😮
I just got in a couple boxes of Sellior & Bellot factory ammo in 243. Will test in a couple different bolt guns.
    Thanks, Dave!

Yes, Federal did come through with newer Ammo that did meet the box numbers on a 24" rifle. Best wishes with you S/B ammo.

Hey Dave, I’m sorry but Federal only got half way. 2801-2980=-179 so if we discount by half for a 20 inch your velocity should be ~2891. I’ve been chronoing a bunch since the Hornady light load fiasco and I’ve found most are extrapolating or showing a bit (-100/140fps) low. Powder is such a short resource that I’m afraid all manufacturers ammo is suffering

My 24" did meet or exceed the listed box Velocity. Yes, powder shortages are a pain and must be a major pain for ammo manufacturers to both meet expectations and demand. Fortunately us handloaders are able to be a little more versatile. Thanks for your comment here.

Any chance you pulled a bullet from the new batch and weighed the powder to see if it was different? A bit concerning that they would have such a wide spread from one lot to the other, unless they are switching powders between batches.

    • @davestrohmeyer-saddleupsho8009
      @davestrohmeyer-saddleupsho8009  26 дней назад

No I did not, because the velocity was close to the box numbers. Hornady recently had the same "change of powder and lower velocity" with their 7mm PRC. They owned up to this fact and blamed the shortage of powder that was used to develop the 7mm PRC and had to use another currently available powder. Several RUclipsrs featured the lower velocity results.
