Then they tried to break through in America in 2009. I always wondered if people liked them or not and if it was worth all the effort. I'm happy you loved them too and that they got you into K-pop.

I only know what Kpop is because of the Wondergirls. Jonas Brothers 2009: they opened for them in Vancouver and I've been obsessed with Kpop ever since. :) I feel as if the wondergirls introduced a lot of people to Kpop actually...

Honestly, the School Gyrls should've been more popular, they were so underrated. They all had amazing voices, but just had a shitty ass manager who did nothing to help further their careers *cough Nick Cannon cough*. I wish they were still together, cuz those girls were amazing
I just came from the Mamadol mv after I realized one of the members looked familiar to me and saw comments saying one of the them was in wonder girls. I instantly came to this video because I remember this song always came on Nickelodeon and she was the one that always stood out to me. This was 10yrs before I even knew what kpop was. Time flies

Not gonna lie...if it wasn't for me watching this movie on Teen Nick back when it was released, I wouldn't have checked up on how the Wonder Girls had been since I heard Tell Me & Nobody back in 07-08. Now I've been listening to so many other groups for so long that I completely forgot 'bout this song. Brings back nostalgic memories about trying to remember their names and whatnot. Y’all don’t understand how much I watched that fucking Wonder Girls movie on Nickelodeon. I nearly had a meltdown when my mom threatened to delete it from the DVR 😭😭😭 BoA’s American album a year or two prior was actually what led me towards kpop for the first time but I was so excited by the time Wonder Girls we’re getting their American opportunities. I already loved School Gyrls (really only the original trio lineup but hey) and it just seemed like such a good idea to me. In hindsight, I can see why things went wonky but I was definitely super impressed at the time

I’ve read so many comments saying JYP ruined Wonder Girls and maybe that is true to an extent but i really think he gave his everything to make them the iconic group they are today. He saw potential in them and had a vision. He tried so hard to break them into the international market paving way for kpop in the international market. He’s always ambitious even today but maybe for the time his ambitions were too far fetched. But still JYP is a hard worker and he even gave the girls such good songs like when I listen back to them i still get shocked. He invested a lot in them and he even apologised to the girls for the hard times, also, the economic depression at the time really had an impact on their international promo. I’m happy that everyone is more or less in a good place right now including JYP. And i’m happy that they still continue to make music. They went through a lot together. Their whole journey together was hard and unpredictable but they eventually got through it. And I mean they’re one of the best groups to ever exist. :)
you might like john doe, baby don't play, or some other of their newer songs besides the singles. i find that their singles are the slower and less fun songs from their recent comebacks. not exactly like this, but they're catchy and fun. i would say those two are kind of like mamamoo's type of sound, if you like them.
For Wonder Girls to continue SunYe really needs to come back after some time with the family. Her voice and Yeeun's work so beautifully together and it just wouldn't be the same. Not to say that JYP couldn't find another knockout talent to add to the group, but that just doesn't happen that often anywhere in the world so I am not holding my breath. I miss her so bad already.

Everytime I watch a MV about Korean singers/groups feat. an American singer/group, the Americans are always so bad, useless, stupid and so on in the eyes of the K-Pop fans. I just ask myself why. I think Wonder Girls AND School Gyrls did a good job here. When I think of "Like Money" by Wonder Girls feat. Akon, I also enjoyed Akon's rap part and didn't think he was useless.
I actually prefer this version and the Akon version of Like Money too xD in this version, it makes it like a competition between the girl groups to win the DJ so it makes it cool, especially the rap between the black girl and YuBin that is better like this :D
Because they think it's a competition instead of what it actually is -- a agreed collaboration between two parties who were probably happy to work together.

This is how I got into kpop, I was a fan of the School Gyrls and when I saw them here I also got interested in these amazing girls.

I just came from the Mamadol mv after I realized one of the members looked familiar to me and saw comments saying one of the them was in wonder girls. Not gonna lie...if it wasn't for me watching this movie on Teen Nick back when it was released, I wouldn't have checked up on how the Wonder Girls had been since I heard Tell Me & Nobody back in 07-08. Now I've been listening to so many other groups for so long that I completely forgot 'bout this song. Brings back nostalgic memories about trying to remember their names and whatnot. BoA’s American album a year or two prior was actually what led me towards kpop for the first time but I was so excited by the time Wonder Girls we’re getting their American opportunities. I already loved School Gyrls (really only the original trio lineup but hey) and it just seemed like such a good idea to me. In hindsight, I can see why things went wonky but I was definitely super impressed at the time

I’ve read so many comments saying JYP ruined Wonder Girls and maybe that is true to an extent but i really think he gave his everything to make them the iconic group they are today. He saw potential in them and had a vision. He tried so hard to break them into the international market paving way for kpop in the international market. He’s always ambitious even today but maybe for the time his ambitions were too far fetched. But still JYP is a hard worker and he even gave the girls such good songs like when I listen back to them i still get shocked. He invested a lot in them and he even apologised to the girls for the hard times, also, the economic depression at the time really had an impact on their international promo. I’m happy that everyone is more or less in a good place right now including JYP. And i’m happy that they still continue to make music. They went through a lot together. Their whole journey together was hard and unpredictable but they eventually got through it. And I mean they’re one of the best groups to ever exist. :)

you might like john doe, baby don't play, or some other of their newer songs besides the singles. i find that their singles are the slower and less fun songs from their recent comebacks. not exactly like this, but they're catchy and fun. i would say those two are kind of like mamamoo's type of sound, if you like them.

For Wonder Girls to continue SunYe really needs to come back after some time with the family. Her voice and Yeeun's work so beautifully together and it just wouldn't be the same. Not to say that JYP couldn't find another knockout talent to add to the group, but that just doesn't happen that often anywhere in the world so I am not holding my breath. I miss her so bad already.

Everytime I watch a MV about Korean singers/groups feat. an American singer/group, the Americans are always so bad, useless, stupid and so on in the eyes of the K-Pop fans.
I just ask myself why. I think Wonder Girls AND School Gyrls did a good job here. When I think of "Like Money" by Wonder Girls feat. Akon, I also enjoyed Akon's rap part and didn't think he was useless.
In usa the only group i liked was PCD, but singers from Korea its something else
