The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is the premier late night talk show on CBS, airing at 11:35pm EST, streaming online via CBS All Access, and delivered to the International Space Station on a USB drive taped to a weather balloon. Kartoffel Pommes - ~20 years ago I was the assistant lighting director for a venue in Colorado (before a band snatched me up to be their touring LD) when a radio industry concert was held there and *Willie Nelson* was _one_ of the headliners (the best imho but t’other names were pretty damn big too). At the end of the night one of *Willie’s* crew came and got me (lighting guy) and the stage and house sound guys and brought us to his bus... just like you’d imagine, when the doors opened it smelled like the kindest grow house you’ve ever seen. Sitting there was *Willie,* rolling a _ginormous_ spliff and he told us to sit down and get comfortable, finished rolling the joint (which was some *_incredible_* blueberry smelling strain), handed it to me with a lighter and *_proceeded to thank us_* for the work we did running his show... *_nobody_*_ ever_ thanked the house sound, stage sound and lighting folk but here was, frelling *Willie Nelson,* offering us praise and smoking a joint with us. He is just as cool, funny and mellow a cat as you can imagine and I will forever hold that night in a special place in my heart !!

Hell yeah. I always will love The Highwaymen, Cash, Waylon and Nelson. Plus Willie has a lot of great songs period. On top of all that though he's a great guy.

Willie Nelson is up there with Sinatra, Elvis, Williams, and other American music icons. He can sing anything and make it his own. His guitar playing is as good as it gets. Great interview, Stephen!

Stephen's no stranger to pot...definitely not 'shrooms. He's brought his use up in passing MANY times. Amy Sedaris actually hinted that her, Stephen, and Paul might still do mushrooms on occasion. I could see her being a more frequent user than him at this age-she's been open about her enjoyment of them and I think she uses the experiences to create her work- but I'm sure he can still hang!

I was smoking a joint with an old guy I had just met at a gas station in New Braunfels tx and this dude was pretty chill I think we had around 5 blunts(road trip so I had a shit load rolled) and when the dude left my friend came up to me and asked if I was just smoking with willie nelson...turns out I smoked with willie nelson.
Willie doesn't look a day over 60. Stress is what makes a person grow old. I smoked a lot of weed myself (haven't smoked since 11/2004). I better get with the program! My Dad was telling me all about his recent trips to Denver and Seattle.
I wish I could handle weed and experience only the benefits the way Willie Nelson does, I’d still be smoking.

I know who Tex Ritter is, although he died some 20 years before I was born and I'm not even American! What an embarrassment and what a shame! And yet why is no one shaming him for that??? I was looking for a recent (and decent) Willie Nelson interview, but I just stopped watching at that point...
alphonso Drovel ... I met Tex in Indy in the 60s. My musician cousin opened for him. Tex was a dead ringer for one of my uncles and a very pleasant man. I am 83 years old, and remember the songs he sang. Rye Whiskey, Blood on the Saddle, Boll Weevil, etc..
