  • Allens brand Ultra Quite side pipe exhaust for mid year corvettes. I think naming them ultra quite is a stretch, but they are definitely more quite than the side pipes we replaced. WWW.allencorvetteexhaustsystems.com

    Guys, thank you very much. I'm new at this, so I was just researching to find out if the side pipes on the 1967 C2 Corvette could be adjusted to run softer. I just happen to come across this video and I'm thrilled to find out it can. I really appreciate the information on the (Ultra Quite Side Pipes). I didn't know that these type pipes were even available. It was like the information that I was seeking just dropped down from heaven. Boy oh boy oh Boy!!! You guys made my day. Thanks a million!

      Hey thanks for watching, Dad sure likes his new side pipes , they're not as quiet as under the body exhaust but they are much quieter than the pipes he had on the car before especially when you get on it, at idle they sound about the same but are much quieter when you have your foot into it. Thanks for watching and please subscribe to the channel if you haven't already

    Nice having the quiet pipes can hear your radio again can always install some exhaust cut outs when you want some noise." best of both worlds"

      I really need to do a follow up video, dad liked the sound of the quiet pipes but he was fighting a runibility problem that ended up being the pipes, he put the loud pipes back on and it really made a big difference in the way the car runs and it's overall power and performance

    For those who think it's not quiet, note how the two men have a normal conversation at normal voice volume while the car is idling. Many of these cars require you to shout.

    I own a 2005 yellow convertible that I bought new, it had magnaflow mufflers. I couldn't take the noise, my ears would ring for days . So I put the stock mufflers back on. I can appreciate where your coming from. Now I drive the car again with no issues.
    I use to have a marina blue 427 black leather with black stinger,no pipes though.

    It's a beautiful car (I have a '67 Coupe 427 & a '66 L79 Roadster) but I liked the way your car sounded with the old pipes. Sorry

      Yeah the 67 is Dad's and it sounded bad ass with the old pipes on it when you got on it but it was just too loud for him to drive on a regular basis the new pipes are pretty loud idling but are a lot quieter when you get on it

    Perfect car, wheels and tires + no white lettered tires that turn into white walls at 20 MPH.

    I added a set of these (409 stainless steel under $500 with discount) to my numbers matching, restored, 66' 327/350hp ragtop and they were almost as loud as what was on there! Yours sound quieter. I think they may have sent me the wrong ones? No way I can send them back now. Better than it was for sure as it was ear blasting when on the throttle but it's still loud. Not happy but oh well. PS...my idle is stock at 700 rpm. Idle didn't change. Nice vette by the way. If you can, would love to see and listen to another video of the vette either running up and down a road or taking a drive. Might give me a better idea of the sound. Thanks

    Gorgeous car and I can appreciate the quieter pipes. Easier to enjoy the car, less fatigue, can hear your music etc. Love the colors. Is that original color or something different?

    Is Allen shipping exhaust systems again? It’s been a while but last time I called them shipping was not an option.

    • @70elco28
      @70elco28  3 года назад +1

      I have no idea about shipping, when I bought dad's exhaust we have a family friend that has done a lot of business with Allen's and he was able to drive there and pick them up and that was a year ago Christmas. Thanks for watching the video please subscribe to the channel if you haven't already and stay tuned Dad and I are going to have some more Corvette collaborations this spring and summer

      I just picked up a set for my 69 on Tuesday, they (husband and wife?) are just getting over Covid and had been out of the shop for a couple weeks. When I ordered them (Monday) they said shipping would be about $130, but I only live about an hour away so I went and picked them up. Pipes look great but the did not have the mounting hardware. My advice is if you want an Allens exhaust system I’d get it sooner rather than later. The son is running the business now and he said he has no help anymore, when his dad ran it he had a full crew.

    ...seems a shame to overly muffle a 427 Vette...
    ...maybe it's an age thing...
    ...I'm only 67...

    So, what do you mean electric headlights? Motors are electric, ditto 12V headlamps...

    • @70elco28
      @70elco28  Год назад

      What dad was talking about is there is a after market conversion kit that converts the headlight operation from 2 separate switches into just one switch that turns on the headlights and opens the headlight doors and makes them faster with new motors replacing the old style slow factory motors that a lot of times you will see 1 headlight that opens relatively fast and another headlight that opens slow this conversion kit is supposed to take care of that

    Yeah, I'm tired of the most iconic exhaust in automotive history. I'm also tired of looking at my Miss America winner wife. If it's too loud, time to get a mustang. SMMFH.

    • @70elco28
      @70elco28  2 года назад +1

      that sounds just a little sarcastic, if you pay attention to the video the exhaust that was replaced is after market super loud exhaust, dad wanted a more factory sounding exhaust.
