This video covers 3 main points: 1) The only way to truly moisturize hair... 2) The Herb & Lime Oil can be used as a hair deodorizer, pre-poo, oil rinse, hot oil treatment, added to deep conditioner or added to hair mist for daily moisture on your locs. Visit keishacharmaine.com/products/new-organic-herb-lime-oil to see all of the herbs and oils that are in this mix. 3) Here's my recommendation for a hot oil treatment...
What do you recommend as a moisturizer? I've been loc'd for 21 yrs so I use up a lot of products per wash. BTW, your information is on point. I basically already do the things you talk about minus a few so thank you!
Yes indeed, and also not using oils that are compatible with their hair porosity. There’s really a lot of factors involved but I made this video to emphasize that water = moisture, not oil 💯
today was my wash day after 2 months and i felt i needed a re-course on moisturizing my hair. i went through a few videos & was like.. yo, where is Keisha and there you were, uploading this video on my wash day. thank you so much!
First off, your eye shadow is beautiful on you! Second, I purchased that new lime conditioner as fast as I could when I saw it lol! Can't wait to try it! Waiting for the other oil to come back later this month. Running low :( Third, thank you for the facts. I have always used rose water mixed with oil and it keeps my hair moist. Love it! Keisha knows what's she's talking about ya'll! Listen and learn!!! Blessed!
I came here for the comments:) I 100% agree with you. I'm on my 2nd set and both loc faster, get thicker and grow better when I wet a few times a week and mist with oil. However, I know ppl who do not have locs personally will come for you. But guess what IM here for it!!! I love your channel!!! Going to your shop right now:)

She is absolutely right about Oil and water. Natural is beautiful! Water is good for everything! Water and water based oil is right not just oil itself.
Oh my goodness I thought you were the lady from the show Girlfriends. You're beautiful Queen, thanks for the loc info. I'm two months in my loc journey. I'm so excited. Your locs are gorgeous and healthy.
I clicked on this so fast 😊 I’ve been using water in a spray bottle for a few months thanks to you. It makes a difference and takes away the crunchiness
Tiara Cunningham lol yeah, I have no other word to describe that dryness. Curled my hair though and don’t want the curls to fall so currently feeling a bit crunchy
Honestly... You are just a very gorgeous woman. I appreciate all the tips you give. You are one of my favorite page to get information for my locs. Keep it up and thank you for being so inspirational!! XOXO
You’ve made this sooo easy to understand! Thank you so much for this information, I appreciate you.❤️I just started my locs, so I’m making sure I build as much knowledge as I possibly can. I’m so excited to nurture my hair and to watch it flourish. 🥰
Wow that really resonated with everyone about moisturizing your hair while in the shower, I never wear a shower cap either but the part about sealing the oils in after, I’m telling all my loc friends this trick 🙌🏾 thank you! And I’ll be looking into your products thank you!
Hi Keisha! Let me tell you, I'm 100% hetero... but I couldn't stop staring at your eyes! Lol. Your makeup is absolutely beautiful and compliments your complexion so wonderfully. Thank you for the moisturization tips. I currently mix my oil (olive) with water inside my spray bottle. Sometimes, however, I will still notice slight dryness. I may try a different oil. I'll definitely bookmark your page for when budget allows the luxury. Be safe and stay blessed!
Thanks so much for the info! Do you mind sharing what dye you use? Brand and color please? I would love to dye my locs black and want the perfect shade. Yours are gorgeous!!
I love u and I always have ! Your so beautiful and I remember buying your book on Amazon . I’ve been going strong with my locs 5 years . Much love sis.!!
I’ve had locs for about 6 years now and the last 2-3 years has been a trial with dryness and products just not working for my hair. I have dry itchy scalp problems that are so bad that I have to use liquid hydrocortisone for relief. I’ve switched my shampoo products several times because it just drys my hair and scalp. Before locking, I had to used a lot of conditioner to keep my hair moisturized but with locs, white creamy products are horrible at getting out and I started getting bad build up in the last few years. I used oils as sealant but they tend to make my hair and scalp smell awful within a day or two. My hair is thick and high porosity so it loves water, but always having it wet can lead to mildew issues. This dilemma has me seriously considering chopping off my hair, which I really don’t want to do. So I’m thinking that the types of oil matters. Obviously it does, but I mean scent wise and those with anti microbial properties? I think that I will try the water method again and just make sure that I’m intentional about the types of oil blends that I used. I know Jamaican black castor oil is well vetted but I hate the smell.
Hi I'm definitely going to use more water to moisturizing.because I been using diluted leave in sprays. Thank you I'm sorry which foundation do you use and can you do a makeup tutorial or GRWM or not. Just want to know which foundation you use your makeup looks nice thank you
What kind of hair dye can I use on my locs. I used adore but it doesn't completely dye the roots and also I have gray growing in. And what kind of moisturizer in my hair. I do use water in a spray bottle. Help. Please. My name is Deana. I am 60 yes old. Started growing my locs in may/June of 2020.
Thank you Keisha Charmaine for your insightful video. This was a great help and by the way your energy is bright and informative so I am a newbie. I thumbs up and subscribed!!!
When I say I clicked so fast! I love all the videos that you do and I have been subscribed to your channel for years now… You are like my own loc guru!!!I GREAT VIDEO AS ALWAYS!
Hello! Hope all is well with you and your family. Thank you so much for your video! I wanted to ask a quick question. My daughter has started her loc journey and I wanted to know if I should be apply oil direct to the scalp before spraying with water? And if so how often should I oil her scalp? (She has dry hair & scalp)
As soon as ii said, I mix the water and oil in the bottle and used that daily. Especially when im getting ready to go somewhere other than that it's in a bonnet most of the time. As a male, would you recommend retwists like once a month?
🤔 So let's say you didn't add oils in the spray mix of your choice (I'm using distilled water, aloe vera juice, and rose water), if you wanted to spray your locs every day in the morning, you wouldn't need to use oil everyday would you? That's how the build up on the scalp happens correct?
Wait, you can get your locs wet when you take a shower without taking them down though how many weeks do you have to wait to get your hair wet after a re-twist?
Hi I know this off topic but how long have you been locking and what do you think of permanent lock extensions on current locks? I am having a hard time with the front of my locks growing. I moisturize and follow steps needed. Been locked for 2yrs
No I don't think that's necessary because if you do it the way I instructed, when you take the towel off, you will feel how much heat you generated on your own in the towel.
Yeah lol. I didn’t moisturize my locs for like 5 years (except on wash day, so like once a month) and recently I became invested in having long and healthy locs, which made me realize how dry and brittle my locs were. I use rose water first, then seal it in with a mixture of coconut, argon, and vitamin e oil (this is unnecessary lol, using just one oil is fine, I just recently bleached my hair so I wanted to repair my hair fast). Honestly vitamin e oil works the best for a lot of people and it’s fairly cheap, and regular water works fine, but I find that rose water moisturizes my hair for longer and smells amazing.
Glycerin is a humectant, meaning it draws moisture to itself out of its environment. If you live somewhere humid, or you're showering daily or misting your hair daily, humectants like glycerin are really good. If, however, you live somewhere dry, where there is little to no humidity around you, and you're not constantly adding water to your hair, humectants will draw water OUT of the closest source: your hair and skin.
What kind of locs do you have? I want to do my hair like this but when I go the salon they're going to ask me what kind of locs do I want and I'm not going to know what to say >
@@genevacontreas Just the traditional style with the square/block parting - most stylists will use this parting system unless you specifically ask for something different. Her loc size would be considered medium. Maybe medium small. But loc size is also determined by your own hair density and texture so it’s hard to say that “medium locs” on you would be the same size as hers.
@@genevacontreas That’ll be nice - just also consider how much time you’re willing to spend on your hair. More locs = more maintenance. No problem, I hope that I helped a bit. Enjoy your loc journey!

How do you feel about substituting aloe vera juice for water?
How did you know I needed this video my hair has been so dry. What type of conditioner do you recommend for deep conditioning so there’s no buildup
