- This is video 1 of 4 I will be uploading today! In this video I give a full in depth tour of a 2003 Ford Escape Limited. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

My brother had 2002 Ford Escape that had 289,000+ miles on it. Its really good SUV, we drove in everywhere and it never die.
These cars are horrible Especially until the transmission goes out ahahaha had 03 these things are absolute trash and rust buckets

This is my favorite car in the whole world. I have a 2002 Ford Escape and my biggest wish is for them to make a brand new one, but one that looks identical to mine and runs identically.
Owned 3 they are awesome. The new '21 Escape hybrid is best yet. Support them. Best small SUV!

The original Escape will most likely be my first car. I can't wait to drive one, I heard they handle really well and have a nice ride. Roomy too with good interior and cargo space. Of course, I'll also be using mine for fun in the snow with the 4WD system. (:
Run, don't walk. I have a 2003 Ford Escape XLT 4WD. I get between 14-16 mpg and I mostly drive on the freeway. I spend close to $3000 per year on gas and I drive less than 15000 miles per year. There's also some other issues with automatic transmissions.
If you drive the Escape like a normal person and don't step on the gas you'll be getting at least 18 city and 21 highway. Also, if you add weight in the truck it uses more gas
I have an 03 XLT the mpg for me at least I drive an average of 80 miles a week is about 20 miles to the gallon so by the end of the week my gas gauge is right in the middle which I can fill up with 15$ of PREMIUM has I don't use regular the only thing I don't like about it is the understeer it has a lot of it
I wouldn't advise it, i have an 03 escape XLT and the front subframe fractured going down the road and destroyed the drive axle, both lower control arms, steering rack, and then after all that was repaired, the fucking torque converter decides to go absolute ape shit.

I really like the color of that Escape. Mine's the 2001 Ford Escape XLS and it's white. I'm not a big fan of a white car, but I got it for a steal!

I really like these Escapes, liked them so much, I bought one. Haha, it's strange the only minor differences between the XLT, and the Limited though, mine, for example has everything that one does with the exception of heated seats, and and back-up sensors... I would appreciate them, but in reality, I hardly see the point of the Limited prior to ~2007. Still great car no matter which you choose. And my 4x4 is great off road. :D Love your reviews! It gets IN the way when it's in drive. Still, it makes a nice hand rest when you wanna mess with the radio.

I see what ya mean now. It looked ergonomic, but I drove my moms Escape, and found myself bumping into the shifter alot. Although it looks really nice, and it's still a lot less in the way than a stupid console shifter.
I just bought a 2007 Escape and noticed that my high beam indicator light was out. So I took the cluster out to replace the bulb, there was no bulb and the socket the bulb goes in is missing. Just try to find one, you can't. I've searched every where there is to search including Ford themselves. This is just stupid not to sell parts for their own cars. I got lucky, after 2007 you can't replace bulbs at all, you have to replace the entire cluster if a light goes bad.

Is there anyway to attach an aux cord or anything so you can play your ipod through the car?
@chrisfikes733 Goto autozone. Purchase FORD stereo keys for $3. Goto any electronics store and buy any after market car stereo with an Aux or ipod adapter. Even the $100 ones have them. I put an Alpine Ipod head unit in mine. The DIN adapter is another $20, and $20 for a ford cable connector. Hook the ford connector to your stereos connector, use the keys to pop it out of the dash, put the din adapter in, connect your stereo and slide it in, done in 20 minutes.

actually, when it's in drive, it gets in the way of nothing. It's one of the more ergonomic column shifters out there.
@drjustin84 Not really, I'm sure they'll do fine, but if there's any rough terrain, it won't do very well.
That thing looks so damn close to my moms car...except hers is the kin to this (Mazda Tribute) but darn near the same color, engine, interior...except hers has tan leather, a tan underside, and only 88K miles on it (keep in mind it's a 2001)

@@issavibez394 why do you go on every escape video and trash them... If you don't know how to take take care of a vehicle it's your fault, there are MANY first gen escapes on the road today with original engines and transmissions so stop being a little complainer and get better hobbies
Can someone please guide me. My battery died and also the theft lamp stopped working. I can get in the car but when I try charging the battery, the alarm goes off. Remote does not work. I am able to start the car after that point but the horn won't go away. All possible accessories are on and some flashing sometime too, Also disconnecting the battery won't stop the car but it will not start if ignition key is turned off and on. Alarm goes off at ignition off. Appreciate your response. Thanks

It's actually a good thing for forgetful people. It's the only one that can let my mom know she left her headlights on.
Escapes are GREAT cars except for 1 little thing.....they eat alternators as often as once every 2 years. Seriously, you will find yourself replacing alternators like you would do a tire change. Other than that an absolutely reliable vehicle. I've had mine 9 years no other problems than the 3 alternators it's gone through.

+giselle torres v6? very powerfull! bad fuel consumption, top specs gives you sun/moon roof 4x4 leather seats, just ask for any problems before you acquire it.

giselle torres we own the XLT 3.0 v6, mpg in its very worst road condition is 10, mix road condition is 18 and best is 24.
the 2.0 and 2.3 engines fuel consumption is not far from its competitors with only 2-3mpg difference in worst, average and best road conditions.
ford escape can tow a trailers under 3500 lbs and 7k lbs with the factory towing package
there are a lot of reasons that affect fuel consumption
