It's amazing the way Prophets are teaching now, when compared with the past. We've become soft, so Presidents of the Church have to teach the gospel in the least offensive way.

We should reflect on why this has changed. Perhaps there are many things in preparation, and we should likewise prepare?

Absolutely, Ezra Taft Benzon, one of the absolute best Apostles & even better Prophet, Seer, & Revelator. This is a powerful talk.

I love how straight forward he is. Our current leaders must be so careful that they don't offend anyone or members. Worried they will leave the church. Our world has changed so much.

This speech was given in the General Conference of the Church os Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints on April 1973 and it’s as prophetic as it could be, particularly towards the end when he talks about the causes of the fall of the Roman Empire towards the end of the second century of greatness. Worthy to share even with those not of the LDS faith who believe in protecting society against the evils of “modernity” and “Wokeness”

It wasn't pagan Rome that fell. It was Christian Rome.

    OH MY WORD.
These words describe members of The Church IN SPADES.
    Guys, Preach Repentance.
And if that compels you to Repent yourself, and harrow your souls because there are so many things you have to change and change deeply to the point you feel it will kill you, DO IT ANYWAY.
    Stunning.
These words cut like razors, or they would if members of The Church in 2023 didn't have hearts of polished obsidian.

Oh how I wish the Bretheren talked that way now. I’m sure there is a reason they do not, (I fear so many would be ‘offended’ and leave the Church), but I miss their directness and clarity and at times chastisement. We need it now more than ever.

Yeah I agree I feel like there is so much indirectness or softness, but they do always share good, sobering lessons. I trust the apostles are doing what is best for the church
