- Mostly a driving video with an eagle bus your at the beginning and a bit of a fire on lances 4106 gm bus. My 1947 gm Silversdes 3751 bus is hauling butt down the interstate and parkways on my trip to Ohio. I love the wide angle lens view on the iPhone 11 max pro for the driving videos. Not really sure about the eagle model number that’s just what the welder said it was. I’m not a big eagle guy so they all look the same to me ;)

Nothing like the sound of a 2-stroke Detroit singing 40 feet behind you cruising down the highway. I miss that.
I think mufflers will be in the near future, I would come up with a air actuated cutout so you can activate a loud switch for fun times and quiet for those long hauls.
I sure hate to see these videos of your come to an end. As soon as I see your posts, I bring em up. To see your vast intelligence of these buses and your unmatched ability, as well as your, passion, to fix em as well as drive em, just blows my mind. I have zero knowledge about bus operation and repair but I can't wait till your next episodes appear. Take care, be safe and I will watch, anxiously, for the next episode.

That muffler noise would absolutely drive me crazy - No pun intended.
Years of driving fire apparatus...it's normal music for me.
@@robertborchert932 agreed. At one point it was pretty common to hear the Detroits screaming down the highway. I miss it in a lot of ways. Drivers today are well...I can't say cuz it's not family friendly! The looks I get working my old Peterbilt...the new drivers just don't get it lol
Prediction: Mufflers to be added soon. If mamma ain't happy, ain't no body happy. Scott is a smart man. Mufflers will be on order very soon . :)
Guy Cobham love loud pipes for a little while but when it’s your daily driver or when your shooting for an early morning departure 😆
A turbo does a good job of taking the rawness off the bark, there are allegedly other benefits as well but Scott wouldn't know about that ;-)

Video Approved. Bus sounds great. Cheap solution.. Foam earplugs. After you wear them awhile and get used to them, everything will be great. You have the best sounding vintage bus on the interstate. "The Mayor".
I can hear Lenny screaming here in Pennsylvania :-) Sounds good but I can see where it might become... bothersome after a few hundred miles. Thanks for the video Scott.
We have a 671 Detroit Diesel 1952 4103 we are restoring....we haven't been able to take a trip in it for a long time....Watching you get your bus in top notch running condition is very emotional for me...I dream of being able to travel the country....Watching you and Kelly driving down the road to me is soooo relaxing.... Thanks Scott and Kelly for what you are doing...I know you have got to be exhausted...stay healthy....
The driving videos got infinitely more enjoyable with the new exhaust! That's coming from someone who already enjoyed them! Seems like all the changes are really working together you were flying!
Really nice Eagle conversion. The slide outs are a real achievement. Some folks are extremely talented and this bus really shows it.

I've seen lots of slides on PREVOST's, but never on an Eagle. Pretty Unique.... 2 added slides = $$$$. Very Beautiful Coach.

Scott, I am interested to see if that 1941 has what I think they call a low block 6-71- uses a conventional gas engine style sandwich head gasket. One of our " truckable" tugs at work has one. The guy who rebuilt it for us found original design liners in it with 5/16" drill hole air ports.He said those went out of production in 1943 dating the engine. It has a WWII Navy plate on it and the marine transmission was War production license built by Oliver Farm Equipment. I built the exhaust stack out of off the shelf Freightliner parts. Kelly would probably approve. The other tug is L-O-U-D.

I see I'm in the minority, but I love the new sound of the bus. I'm surprised at how tight the steering wheel seems to be for vehicle with so many miles on it. Plus, you just have to love the three on the tree shifting.

Hey Scott love the videos,keep them coming for this long cold winter thats coming up.I don't know if you have time to read all the comments or not,but for my 2cents I would put on an exhaust cut out.Now days they are electric in my day they were manual.They are just a Y pipe,one end for your staight pipe the other with a muffler for in-town,subdivisions,etc.

When I consider how many buses, ones similar to Lennie, are still cruising down the highway’s, it makes me wonder if as many of the more recently built buses (20-30 year range) will be be repurposed, and used to travel the highways of North America. Thanks for sharing some excellent views of the Midwest. Peace-out!

OK....it was fun when you first changed it.....but holy cow that exhaust noise would drive me insane!
I think processing Lenny's exhaust note pushed my phone's battery life a bit, but that's what chargers are for, lol! But the day will come when Lenny will have to be quieter, because "Happy wife, happy life". But I think that if we had rock-solid "better halves" like Kelly, a sacrifice like that would be worth it. So those of us who enjoy a unrestricted 2-stroke should enjoy it while we can.
Get her a nice pair of noise canceling headphones. That is what my wife uses in my bus. I have a straight piped (stack) Cummings ISM. Just as loud and with the jake, more. I think the stack makes it.
I like the screaming jimmy noise but it needs 5th gear.
That little town you stopped at Walmart is Bardstown, pretty little town. I drive BG parkway everyday, was cool too see it in your video.

You have to do something about the noise inside the Bus. I always loved the sound of those Detroits but that drone sound inside is really bad.

Just throwing a idea out to you. Kenworth use to use what we called grass burners exhaust. This was more common on their 95 and 96 T600's. The muffler would work perfect on your bus. Am sure you probably would be able to find them at a truck salvage.
Love the engine sound, but I am in the Kelly camp. It sounds great while shifting and getting up to speed. However for hours on end? = gyrating on nerves.
I'm with Kelly, I don't like the noise either. At first it sounds really cool, takes me back to my teenage years. But hour after hour, and mile after mile, I can see where it would get old fast.
The drive north on 65 is nice this time of the year.
gotta run a tunnel with those straights .....then do the muffler!

The 2nd grader in you is ecstatic as my inner 2nd grader is too. But the 44 year old me agrees with your wife too. Cabin noise gets old after awhile. Maybe add rock wool or something to quiet it.

By the way ,I've never used a GPS. ,and I've been all over the United States four times ,and half way around the world ,except the Navy did the navigation around the world part . In fact I wouldn't know how to use one either. I'll be 70 years old come March 11th. Guess I'm old school .Too each his own . Safe travels Scott ,and Kelly.......

Is it possible to put a two speed axle in Lenny? After the turbo is added, it would have the power to run at lower revs? Great vidoes.
Just wondering. On a flat section of interstate at 70mph, what rpm are you running? Always happy to see when a new video pops up. Oh and btw, looks like you're still shedding some pounds, good for you!
