I traveled on this ship a few months ago, as far as I found that it is very comfortable on the seats and the cabins were very comfortable and I had a good 3 hours sleep. And the staff were very helpful. And the boat is very clean.

its sad that it works under irish ferries now, i remember in 2020 i was on that ship when it operated under Tallink called Ms Star on Tallinn-Helsinki route gosh i miss the old days but hey atleast they are happy!
@@ShippingMagnet yep, think that it is now the rubbish chartered ship the Norbay which Irish Ferries are not accepting foot passengers on there unless the new Oscar Wilde has moved back to the Pembroke route whilst the Norbay is in dry dock. @@A2BviaSeaonTV Yes we where on that sailing, even the Guinness was not working at first but they got it going and customers evens sang 'happy birthday' to the bar maid. Nice crossing, just the loading and unloading spoiled it
Really great outdoor seating shames the eflexers, and have to say although this ship is quite a bit older than elexers is better and far more interesting.
The outdoor seating doesn’t look as good as the flexes, especially Brittany ferries was on Santona yesterday and it was fantastic. There was nice lounge seating and sofas on the top deck. Wooden benches and lots of chairs to put your feet up and just relax and watch the sea. They even have a outdoor bar and cafe. Although it was shut for our sailing

But where are the people? Traveling between Tallinn and Helsinki under the name Star, the ferry came to life, artists performed, there was a playroom for children and slot machines for adults. The sun terrace was not so desolate, there were more bars, restaurants, fast food places and shops, all within a 2 hour drive. Driving it was like a short cruise. People had fun. Or does it still need time to settle in under the new owners? It served passengers between Estonia and Finland for 16 years. And quickly, both at sea (25-27 knots) and in the port, loading and unloading took place within 1 hour. Two-story entrance and exit. The round trip took only 5 hours (80 km). This ferry still has a lot of untapped potential.

This might have already been mentioned in the video, but it's interesting to note how similar this ship looks to the two sister ships operating for DFDS on the Dover - Calais route. Côte des Flandres & Côte des Dunes
When I went on it, the ramp was stuck and we were delayed by fourty minutes. The cabin was underwhelming and the price for a bottle of lucozade was through the roof.
Thinking about using Irish Ferries next year. Have recently started to use Stena Line but find the Stena Nordica underwhelming. Any suggestions about travelling with Irish Ferries would be great. Which is best?

Thanks, for me the highlight (no pun intended!) was passing 'the smalls' lighthouse at less than a mile, so was able to have a good look at it because I know the story about the death of one of the keepers there sometime in the 1890s. Although the film they made about it was very poor I thought.@@A2BviaSeaonTV
What a beautiful ship 👍 and it definitely beats that dirty and claustrophobic blue star one , this route needed a bigger and more modern ship . Will check her out
The decor of the former Burger King area is disappointing. Also concerned that the main pub (main ship’s lounge) will be closed a lot of the time. Can’t see her ladting long on Pembroke - Rosslare.
@@argyle83 Doesn’t bode well because at least the rest of Blue Star 1 had comfortable seating throughout. Also the buffet restaurant on Oscar Wilde will be closed (understandable) and possibly the large duty free shippoing area forward.

Thanks for watching. Yes, the food offering in Club Class was excellent. I would suspect Oscar Wilde will transfer to Dublin/Cherbourg later this year.
Stena Plus is a much weaker product for quality of snacks. Stena seem also to very hard sell the additionals upselling their menu. Although most people in Stena Plus are extra gold card holders, it’s not hard to spend £1,000 or €1,350 a year with Stena to gain gold status for a person plus 1. With club class everyone pays inc infants so it’s a different pricing dynamic.
The Stena Estrid plus lounge was vastly superior to Dublin Swift club class in our experience. The food, seats, staff, newspapers, view, priority boarding and offloading all were much with Stena
