    Run through of the awesome program "MSFS Pop Out Panel Manager"! Unlike X-Plane, MSFS doesn't remember the size and location of the pop out panels natively. This program changes that!
    For those of us that use additional displays and programs like Air Manager or hardware like RealSimGear, this app is a life saver! In addition to memorizing you pop out placement and sizes, it adds touch screen functionality to certain device such as the Garmin GTC 580!
    Big thanks to Stanley Kwok, the developer of this awesome program! Please consider donating to him. It looks like he spends a bunch of time answering questions about his program. You can find MSFS Pop Out Manager here: flightsim.to/file/35759/msfs-...

    Hi Ivan, awesome video! You explain Pop Out Panel Manager much better than I do and a big thank you. Btw, there is a hidden (not really obvious) feature to adjust pop out panel using keyboard shortcuts when it is behind Air Manager bezel frame. After you drag the panel to your desire monitor, go back to Pop Out Panel Manager configuration screen. Click on the row header in the configuration table for the panel you want to adjust. This panel is now active. You can open the description of the keyboard shortcuts by clicking on the exclamation mark icon in the upper right corner above the table. The shortcuts will provide fine grained adjustment with either 1px or 10px increment to give you exact fit. Hope this helps and happy flying!

    Was struggling with setting up panels for the Vision Jet today. Couldn’t get the touch to work on the GTC 580 and dreaded having to reset up the pop outs each time I exit and restart MSFS. Your video could not have been more timely! What I especially like about your videos is that they get into the nitty gritty of setting thins up. There is a G1000 that comes with Air Manager that says "X-Plane" on the bezel but works for both XPlane and MSFS 2020 (FS). There is another bezel developed by Simstrumentation that can say either "Garmin" or "Simstrumentation" on the bezel. It's the G1000nxi bezel. If you don't have that bezel, you may have to go to the Simstrumentation Github to download it. It's free and a great bezel. I think it would depend. Are you using the Macbook as an extended desktop for the sim pc, meaning, are you dragging the pop outs from the sim pc to the desktop of the Macbook? Evening sir: thanks so much for your time and effort in producing this informative video for us. This should be a real timesaver and very welcome addition to my air manager programs and 2 small additional screens. I'm not a very computer savvy guy and your previous videos on air manager and others have been very helpful. Two questions if I may: I am preparing to download the program and the directions say: unzip and place in a folder of your choice-does this folder have to be in MSFS somewhere, or where do I put the folder? 2). It says if using Auto Popout feature, copy zzz-ready-to-fly-button-skipper into the MSFS community folder. I am uncertain if that is what you did for instance with the Visionjet: did I need to do this or do I just select the feature from the application itself on startup? Thanks again, sincerely appreciate your time spent to enlighten the simulation community.

    • @IvanSkyFlight
      @IvanSkyFlight  Год назад

      Bill, the program really doesn't "install". It just runs out of the folder it extracts to, so really you can put that folder anywhere and just pin the shortcut to your taskbar or desktop. I keep MSFS on a second SSD so I put my folder in the root of that disk.
      As far as "zzz-ready....", that's only if you want to bypass the "Ready To Fly" button. I don't use that function. It can still auto detect the chosen aircraft and load up the correct profile if you select "Enable auto pop out panels" under Pop Out Panel Manager preferences. You just manually have to hit "ready to fly".

    Is there already a solution to NOT affect frame rate once you pop-out panels into another physical display? I have been wanting to do this but the loss of 10-12fps is a lot for me. MSFS2020 just don't like 2D separate displays on its panels.

    Ivan, thanks as you have made my day. I do have a basic question or two. I am building the 737 MIP and other parts based on Karl Clarke's designs for the full MIP. My main screen is a 65" TV. Behind the MIP will be three monitors to cover the five main screens. With Pop Out Panel Manager and FSMS2020 can I operate those three monitors with a separate networked PC so as not to burden the main PC? And then use other software e.g. Mobiflight to attach all my LEDs, switches, 7 point segments, and other physical devices to MSFS on the main PC? Again thanks.

    • @IvanSkyFlight
      @IvanSkyFlight  Год назад

      Jay, I am not sure about Mobiflight stuff. I don't think popped out displays work on networked machines. I think those only work on displays/desktops that Windows considers an extension of the main desktop. One test would be if your mouse pointer can move between the screens. For just gauges that don't rely on popped out displays, other networked device should work.

      @jaybeckham Hello Jay, I'm currently walking your same path of setting up a 737-800 cockpit using some of Karl's excellent designs. I'm also after setting up a multiscreen environment, but having run short of free video ports on my main sim machine, I'm beginning to implement all the glass panels on a second networked PC with Spacedesk and Pop Out Manager. Only, I'm not using Mobiflight but half of my hardware is made with I/O cards from Opencockpits and the rest with Arduino, anyway this makes no big difference regarding the multiscreen setup.

      I don't think you can pop out a display to a second computer on MSFS unless that second computer has a program installed that extends the display of the first computer. With Air Manager you can run non "pop out" instruments on a second computer which would free up some cycles on the first computer. I have heard that may something like what you are asking for or Air Manager and XP, but don't quote me on that.

    There has been a few updates to POM since then and now it seems like it is a completely different setup including menus, etc. I find the green circle / target icon; but I cannot click on the screens to identify 1 and 2.
    My question is, could you make a video on how to start from scratch on resetting this?
    By the way, this only seems to be messing up on the G1000 setup. If I use the 6 pack setting such as 172 or 152 that I've created using AM , it seems to immediately take care of everything with Air Manager. (Yes, I've updated my AM, also).

      @@IvanSkyFlight Yes, they are unique. Of course I need three outputs for the scenery. Then one for the captain side, one for the FO side, one for the enginescreen, one for the screen between the two CDU's and the two screens for the separate CDU's. I will have to find a solution. Perhaps your suggestion is an option, extending the desktop with three different laptop which will power two screens each. I have no idea if that is possible. Thanks for your advice.

      Go to the link in the description for the Simstrumentation Github site. Scroll down to where it says "Working Instruments". Click on the links under the heading "Current Version". Download each component which is a SIFF file. Then open Air Manager and go to the top left part of the window and click on where it says "Air Manager". That will open a menu. Click on "import" and direct the program to where you downloaded the SIFF file. Then do a search in Air Manager. The new instruments should be there.

      @@IvanSkyFlight Ivan, really enjoy your videos and have learned very much. Having a problem now as I attempt to use misfits pop out. I start, bring up screen to good location for my panels. Use Ctl, Alt 0. Can not detect anything happening, if I move screen away and press Alt 0, screen stays where it’s at. If I try to pop out after selections are made it never finishes, always loses a panel. I have tried pressing Save Auto Camera before selecting Start pop out. Same problem screen normally goes too high and to left, sometimes will catch 1, 2 panels, in fact only one I’ve finished is C172 with 2 panels. You have any ideas, help please, this pop out program will really save time.

    Good morning Ivan, I am a 84-year-old Air Force guy trying to learn all this new computer equipment. I have Microsoft flight simulator 2000 a large screen along with a 23 inch touchscreen and a lobster. I have watched all your tutorials on this issue but I still have trouble figuring out how to get a 1000 display on my touchscreen. I want to get the View with the bees so I could use them lobster I have air manager downloaded, but I can’t find a Cessna 172 with a G 1000 display. You have a great presentation without any side chatter and and don’t go off on tangents. Would appreciate your help best regards, ron in San Diego

      Ron, I don't believe there is a Cessna cockpit already assembled with the G1000. You have to start with a blank panel in Air Manager and then add the G1000 bezels. See if the following link is helpful. ruclips.net/video/Ep8DSmRVosg/видео.html

      @@IvanSkyFlight Ivan thanks so much for the reply. I followed your video again very succinct but where I lost it is when you went from the air manager and you said I’m gonna get out of these screens and go to flight simulator. When you do that two of the G 1000 came up on the screen. How did you get those two screenshots. I assume you had the flight simulator screen on where did you pull out the 2G 1000 instruments. Is it from Microsoft flight simulator pop out program? I’m not sure I know how to handle that other than thatFabulous tutorial. I saw someplace that I could download a bezel but not sure how to get all of this stuff together. Did the bezelcome from air manager ?
      .Would you please try and help again. Very best run

    Amazing how you have to use and hack your way to get pop out windows. Because the largest & richest software company can’t make it a feature in MSFS. And they have software called Windows. LOL just unreal the hacks you have to use.

    • @IvanSkyFlight
      @IvanSkyFlight  8 месяцев назад

      Agreed. There are reasons outside of simulation where it would be nice to have pop out windows at certain areas, size, etc. It's all doable with third party software, but some of that software is difficult to use, and who knows if that software will continue to be developed or not.

    Pop out Manager is not related to Air manager in any way. I cant understand your video heading with Air manager. There is no need for pop out Manager . Air manager does all of this. You have also mentioned real sim gear yet you tell us in the video you dont know how to do it with flight sim hardware. Come on please dont go Glory seeking it shows right through?

    • @IvanSkyFlight
      @IvanSkyFlight  10 месяцев назад +1

      Pop Out Manager for MSFS is useful for people who use G-1000 and other navigation units that have bezels. Air Manager provides a software bezel and RealSimGear provides a hardware bezel. From the POPM developer: "MSFS Pop Out Panel Manager is an application for MSFS 2020 which helps pop out, save and position pop out panels to be used by utilities such as Sim Innovations Air Manager".
