Yago was on another level this competition. Just pulling off airs I've only seen in video parts with perfect landings. Wish that heat was against Toledo! Gabe was definitely frustrated
Já vi o Gabriel enfrentar vários adversários, crescer e dá a volta por cima. Ele só tinha uma grande rival, que é o Julian Wilson. John John é um grande rival, mas o Julian era o único que realmente mexia com o Gabriel. Desde então, não tinha visto outro surfista deixar o Medina tão balançado mentalmente. Nesse campeonato testemunhei um outro Yago, muito ciente de suas qualidades e acima de todos. Não me lembro de NINGUÉM VENCER o Gabriel de combinação. Acho que foi a primeira vez!

Fiz os cálculos com Medina chegando nas finais ficando em 2° lugar(8000p) no mínimo em Portugal, Bells e Margaret(etapas garfadas) estaria com 26950p em 5° colado no 4° Ethan(que já foi ajudado a não ter saído cedo de certas etapas) e JJF estaria com 36885p e não 41465p se não tivesse "passado" por Medina em Margaret e sem contar as outras ajudas que já teve no ano. 🍴🤡🔪🤮
You have to be sleeping for 15 years to say these airs are creative or progressive. We are in 2024. People do these in heats since forever at this point. Not only that. They mostly do them in smaller, weaker waves -- hardly ever on the outside or on critical sections. You can see from miles when the surfer "decides" to do an air and from that point on it gets so boring. This is just as predictable as Damien Hardman surfing in 1987.
Yago is probably doing the most advanced airs we have seen to date.
