I forgot to mention that he was very good friends with Olivia Newton John and they kind of have the same history. Both came out from England as kids and settled in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. She came in about 1953 at 5 years and he came in 1958 or 1959 as a 9 year old. Both worked in the same Melbourne studios in the 1960's. Over the years they worked together. I loved them singing DARE TO DREAM at the Olympics in 2000 and of course working together in THE MAIN EVENT. John even kissed Livvie at the end of singing PLEASE DON'T ASK ME. They did an incredible duet. Sadly when she passed, not long after John had cancer in the jaw and had to have major surgery. He was very cut up by her death. He is known down here as THE VOICE. She always said John was her favourite singer.

It has been confirmed that John will never sing live/publicly again. I have been told it's because that he is unable to open his jaw completely after the surgery. No doubt he still warbles his way around the house daily!!!

Can't explain how thrilled I was to see this notification....and dear Maggie the look of absolute appreciation and pure joy and respect that showed on your beautiful face said it all. Every single song from this concert is brilliant. John even gets down and dirty with a tribute to AC/DC 'It's a Long Way To The Top' and most of the band take to the stage with him lol. Love your channel....Love from Australia

Top 5 singer for sure. Plus perfect control of a full orchestra and his own band, and a perfect connection with his adoring audience. And a great song to work with.

Apparently he's singing in the shower. He has left us fans such a body of work to enjoy, that I hope he gets to sing as much as he wants for his own pleasure. His reconstruction operations are continuing. We love him SO MUCH in Australia.

Thanks for the reaction and yes he's amazing. This song was at the end of his first encore. You might also like John's performance of "It's a Long Way to the Top if You Want to Rock and Roll" (ACDC), same concert at the end of the concert (second encore).

Thanks for the great reaction to the Aussie goat. Our Farnsey is amazing. I'd love you to check out 'All Our Sons And Daughters' live from the Chain Reaction concert, or 'When The War Is Over' live from the Whispering Jack concert. I've got hundreds of his songs that I'd love to recommend to you. The John Farnham rabbit hole is endlessly deep.

A similar thing happened on August 6th, 1985, as Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers were recording a live performance at the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles. When they began to play _Breakdown_ the audience couldn't wait and sang the whole first verse and chorus while Tom watched and listened in amazement and encouraged them. You can find it here on YT.

was never a big fan of his style of music, but he is definitely a tribute to aussie music and has such a great story from singing "sadie the cleaning lady" to being one of, if not, the biggest aussie star ever

I love a proper talented singer that has never seen this see it for the first time an understand what they are witnessing and how amazing John's voice is.....
We in Australia grew up listening to john and didn't know how exceptional he is.... it's just farnsey.... even he says he didn't understand the popularity because of his self criticism.... he is a national icon and very happy to still be with us after his protracted battle and recovery from mouth cancer....
    Love ya John

He is the GOAT as far as Australia is concerned, John has also done some great duets, such as 'When something is wrong with my Baby' with Jimmy Barnes, and 'Please don't ask me' with Olivia Newton John. If you have not seen these do yourself a favour, but only do the live concert versions, you will not be disappointed.
