Agreed I get emotional thinking about watching his matches that season it was an incredible time yet weirdly we all knew it. Sometimes you don’t appreciate the greatest until it’s gone but at the time we were all like this is insane we have never seen anything like this ever the absolute complete player with all this flare and joyful dancing manner. Was truly the greatest player and peaked performance year of any player that ever existed. I say this with 1 caveat which is if only maradona had the protection of what these players had here he would definitely be in the same conversation and year in year out. You go back and watched maradona get totally brutalised every time he touch a ball, before taking somebody on after, before a pass, after a pass he wasn’t allowed to truly showcase his peak that many of Ronaldhino generation did. It’s sad.

I started to see Barca when Laudrup and Romario made their magic. Then came Xavi, Iniesta and Ronaldinho. No doubt Ronaldinho was special. Technique, speed and not least that smile. I used to call him the wizard. Then came Messi. Half as tall and introverted, but what technique and game understanding. The years with Xavi, Iniesta, Messi and Ronaldinho I have not seen better. The definition of Barca. I've never seen it as a competition for who was the best of Ronaldinho and Messi. They both have a big place in my Barca heart. Ronaldinho sure taught Messi some tricks but now Messi is a grown up (sort of) and doing his own thing.
Funny, those rival fans at the end putting aside their pride, though visibly disgruntled, took a moment to recognize true brilliance. Hats off to them and Ronaldinho.
