They understand who and what their playing with, their dumb coach needs to wake up, not many teams were going to play in the paint a couple of days ago, the passes that worked in college apartly aren’t going to work, quicker girls, gotta learn
Jesus, don't interview CC22's teammates about why she didn't perform in her first game.
Ask them: i) why didn't YOU score 20 points? ii) how many of her passes did you fail to score on? iii) where were you when she was being double- and triple- teamed and had absolutely no chance of moving nor passing the ball?

It’s always someone else’s fault when CC lose the ball are throw the ball away. CC passes the ball when her teammates are not looking. Her teammates are trying to get in position to make points or rebound. Lots of CC fans doesn’t understand how to play basketball you can tell by their comments.
As much as likeable Wheeler seems to be when interviewed, she for some reason, was set as the PG in the game and her passes were mediocre at best. She should become the shooting guard and let CC be the real PG. She is not the only one who exposed (at least to me) why the Fever lost the whole last year and the game itself. Boston also was very much out of shape, and showed lack of understanding in where the ball is coming her way. Biggest problem is the coach who doesn’t know how to take advantage and use CC. She is trying to change her! One does not change generational talent. Instead one takes advantage of it.
@@user-qc5qq5oz4d I'm not talking about the times when CC22 passes to an unexpecting teammate - although isn't it their job to keep their eye on the PG to see what's happening? - but the times when they are quite capable of getting the ball but it slips through their fingers, or they get the ball but miss the simple layup.
You're right, I don't know how to play basketball, in the sense that I've never played. I've also never built a Space Shuttle but I recognise when someone has fucked up and let the rubber washers freeze.

Coach Sides won’t last past the Olympics break! The WNBA can’t afford for Caitlin Clark not to have her Stephen Curry moments of shooting about 25 to 30 shots a game-and yes I’m talking about launching 3$-which is her money shot and what the fans wants to see out of Caitlin Clark this year! Nobody cares if the Fever has a winning record in Caitlin Clark’s rookie season. Anybody that has coached or played basketball on any meaningful level knows it take more than three practices for a team to learn each others strengths and weaknesses and where they like to receive the ball at or the floor. If I were the coach of the Indianapolis Fever I would run the Paul Westphal offense (just run and gun and try to out score the your-the Fever’s-opponents!) Then during the offseason the Fever can work on their defense- and offensive sets…But, for this year… can we please turn Caitlin Clark loose and let her run the same offense she ran at Iowa-that worked… Iowa made it to back-to-back NCAAW Championship games! Therefore, the style of basketball Caitlin Clark needs to play has been time tested and proven. And I know her teammates won’t have a problem playing the Paul Westphal style of offense because of Caitlin Clark’s passing ability they would be getting a lot of layups and wide open spot-up jump shots and 3$! Enough said…Call Coach Bluder so that she can show the WNBA fans what CC can do in Paul Westphal’s Run and Gun offense! The WNBA can’t afford to mess this up because as Eminem said-in “Lose Yourself…Look (WNBA you [have] one shot or one opportunity To seize everything you ever wanted in one moment, Would you capture it or just let it slip? Yo” (credit for the Eminem reference goes to “Behind the Line” podcaster.
So come on WNBA owners of the Indiana Fever, get Caitlin Clark and the rest of your Indiana Fever the coach they need or else you will [lose your fan base and that of the WNBA’$] or to quote Eminem - “Lose Yourself!”

Erica is a solid soul. She IS NOT the typical toxic WNBA player.
Enjoying learning about who these players are. Erica has been a revelation to watch and listen too. I think the downside to the extremely short training camp and pre-season games, is the fact that they had to player so many players, that the regular group is just now getting floor time and it shows up.
Growth mindset vs Fixed mindset is where it's at!
Caitlin will be just fine, I just hope her coach and those around her let her be herself and encourage her to keep doing the things that got her here as well as learning and growing in the process.

The issue that I see is that the Fever didn’t really seem to have much of a system in place. Connecticut on the other hand looked like a machine. I think the focus should be strategy.
I agree with most of the comments on here however, Caitlin needs to be the point guard while she’s on the court. That’s how she was successful and that’s how the Fever will be successful. At least let Caitlin go down swinging but don’t hamstring her!

EVERYONE PLEASE STOP CRITICIZING THE OTHER PLAYERS AND THE COACH. Just as our favorite rookie needs to learn the kind of moves EACH PLAYER tends to use in different situations SO THAT SHE CAN ANTICIPATE THEIR MOVES AND BETTER TARGET HER PASSING, Her TEAMMATES need to become COMPLETELY FAMILIAR WITH HOW CAITLIN MOVES IN RESPONSE TO EACH TYPE OF SITUATION, SO THAT THEY ARE ALL ON THE SAME PAGE. THIS TAKES TIME. They have only had two weeks to practice together, but LEARNING EACH OTHERS HABITS so that they can IMMEDIATELY RESPOND IN THE CORRECT WAY IN ALMOST EVERY SITUATION takes a lot longer than two weeks! For a point guard to FULLY ADAPT to a new team and the new team members to FULLY ADAPT TO A NEW POINT GUARD, HUNDREDS -- THOUSANDS OF HOURS OF PRACTICE ARE NEEDED. Remember, Caitlin had played with Monica, Kate, and Gabbie for three years by the time they reached the Championship game in 2023, and she had played with Kate & Gabbie for four years and Hannah and Sid for two years before they played in the 2024 Championship game. Please give them all the time that they need for these MAJOR ADJUSTMENTS before criticizing them for making errors. By the way, I am a HUGE CC fan. I completed my graduate degrees at Iowa and am a former faculty member of Iowa. Please give them all some grace. They're doing the best they can right now. Remember, Boston was the #1 draft pick and Rookie of the Year last year, Smith was the #2 draft pick in 2022, Mitchell was the #1 draft pick in 2018 and is the leading scorer for the Fever (she's been out with an injury but is returning), and Katie Lou Samuelson is deadly from the 3 point line. This will be a GREAT TEAM! They just need more time to gel.
