These guys gave more excuses and passes to Clark than anybody else in the world. She scored those points because her coach is telling the team to give her the ball so she can stop crying. So she’s going to make some and miss some. She is whining all the time this is not college. And the suns did not even put that defense on Clark that they put on her the first game. To me the suns let Clark slide a few times in her shots without defending her.

The only problem Caitlin has is the expectations as everyone seems to expect her to be some sort of world beater. She's like 90% of post-college rookies in any sport: She was an above average college player that now has to play exclusively against people on or above that level. We're all looking for _special_ and she's just fine. That pass for example was a fine pass but any halfway decent professional player should be able to see and make that pass in transition given the defense. If she is going to be special, I think we just need to let her be and give her a couple of years to adjust. I feel the same about every rookie. I'll say the same about Bronny if he gets drafted. Give it a few years and if she (or he) truly belong they'll show as such. Or not. We see busts all the time.

Half of Caitlin's turnovers this year have been good passes that her teammates aren't ready for, they fumble them and they don't go straight up with good passes. The other half of her turnovers are an adjustment to better and longer defenders, and constant double-teams. But those turnover numbers are inflated. They're not real. She'll absorb the criticism, and people will say that I'm "making excuses" for her. But they don't know basketball, it's a team sport. Turnovers aren't always bad passes. This team is getting used *to her,* and that's half the turnovers.

Caitlin Clark had absolutely no down time between the NCAA Women's title game and startup games with the WNBA. The championship game was the first week in April and she was back at it getting ready for the WNBA by the end of April. Her legs and feet have got to be feeling kind of heavy by now.
An idiot might say that's the case for all of the rookies in the WNBA. NOT SO!
No rookie in the WNBA has played the amount of minutes per game as Caitlin played at Iowa, nor was any rookie when on the collegiate court this past college basketball season nearly as involved with the on the court activities of the game - on both the defensive end and the offensive end of the court.
She is not a slacker nor a whiner - she just goes out and plays hard whenever she is on the court.
She has to be fatigued after the NCAA championship game. Fatigue adversely affects stamina and the ability to deliver. In other words, Caitlin's legs aren't nearly as fresh as any of the rookies playing in the WNBA this year. That is not an excuse, that's a reality. I just hope that she can finish the season clear of injuries. Hell, NBA players take breaks during their long basketball seasons, however, they call it something else.

If you are scoring 30+ in wnba that means you are the only one on your team that can score. That is not a good thing. If Clark averages between 18pts and 20pts a game that is respectable. Now with the team, Boston may be a problem, she may not fit the way Fever tends to play. If that is the case trade her and get a first and a veteran to add to team. That way Boston has a chance to shine on another team, and the fever can pick up a center that can play their style.
