I think people see he shot like 53% on a "small" sample and instantly regress that to where all the other "good" shooters are, but that's statistically very wrong to do... other "good" shooters who have a crazy shooting season shoot like 44% in college on this many attempts, not 53%! The chances of a top 100 prospect having a shooting season like his with "only" a 39% true 3P% is like... an over-performance you'd only see once every 15 years. I mean, he shot over 49% from the NBA three point line on over 80 attempts. That's insane. You can also watch the full film of every three point shot he took and see that when he wasn't being face guarded by the other team... he basically just doesn't miss. Like I think he hit like his first 15 C&S threes in a row before teams caught on and started giving him a Steph lite treatment. My favorite player in college this year only negative of his game is height has a hard time creating his own shit. Will get better and more crafty I feel has really high basketball iq
A smaller Klay Thompson basically means he’s not gonna be as relevant. Prime Thompson was that good because of his size, that he could guard up to 3 even 4 with his size and strength, while Reed will be bodied by any one who’s bigger than him. As the old saying,on the basketball court an inch is an inch, when you’re this short you either be fast like D.Rose, or max out your handle like Steph or Kylie. Who needs a 3&D who’s only 6’2?
Can't see him being a long-term starter on a competitive team, tbh. He has to have the perfect two-way, primary creator, tall guard next to him to make it work. How many of those are there in the league? He'll be an awesome bench guy though. Just don't wanna take him top 5 for that reason - upside isn't really there.
I don't see Donte Divincenzo in him at all. I don't know how you don't see Payton Pritchard or TJ McConnell in Reed and his game. Those three can be triplets. He's definitely going to be a top five pick being that so many teams at the top of the lottery are so thirsty for a PG/lead guard.
Payton Pritchard's best shooting season in college was more than 10% worse than Reed's freshman year. TJ McConnell same thing. And both of them shot from a shorter college three point line. Not all short white guys with bad haircuts are the same player.
@@JwebGuru My reference and comp was to a 2024 / NBA Payton Pritchard and TJ McConnell. Though honestly, if I was to compare Reed Shepperd to TJ McConnell and Payton Pritchard, I would say that those two right now are better than Sheppard. But in 3-5 years it may be the other way around. We'll see.
People saying he didn't get up enough shot volume also don't realize that the team like... literally never screened for him. He shot off four screens all year (and went 2/4 on them). Four! For guys his and Curry's size, it's vitally important that the team take some effort on offense to make sure they get an open shot, but instead they just kinda freestyled out there and hoped the defense broke down for a second and forgot where he was (something that happened increasingly less often as the season went on and teams learned to never ever leave him open).

a Donte with that KU guard buff should be in the first half of the lottery this year
Modern day Steve Nash
Would you say Desmond Bane is a Bad comp?
Not bad. Bane is a few inches taller though
I want him or Castle in a Spurs uniform 🤞🤞
He’s a smaller klay Thompson holy a team is going to love him
A smaller Klay Thompson basically means he’s not gonna be as relevant.
Prime Thompson was that good because of his size, that he could guard up to 3 even 4 with his size and strength,
while Reed will be bodied by any one who’s bigger than him.
As the old saying,on the basketball court an inch is an inch, when you’re this short you either be fast like D.Rose,
or max out your handle like Steph or Kylie. Who needs a 3&D who’s only 6’2?
@@Leo-nc3yx he’s going to be a really good player that’s all I know he’s a starter
@@Eyescout222He's got some glaring weaknesses for the NBA level.
@@ngc-fo5te what?
The scary thing is, he shot much much better than Klay Thompson did in college... with a further three point line.
Welcome to Houston!! 🚀
Telling people all year he was the best guard on that team
Lmao
Yeah he did great against tough competition 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Definitely true, yes.
❤
So he's a rocket, right?
Yep
Do report on bronny!! 🙏
Reminds me of jj redick with play making ability
Remind me of Payton Prichard with more upside offensively
Really wanna see him team up with Wemby
I think his ceiling is a better tyus jones . He wont be an all star but he'll always be in the conversation of best role player in the league
He is the next Jimmer Fredette.
Rockets pls
Can't see him being a long-term starter on a competitive team, tbh. He has to have the perfect two-way, primary creator, tall guard next to him to make it work. How many of those are there in the league? He'll be an awesome bench guy though. Just don't wanna take him top 5 for that reason - upside isn't really there.
You mean like Cade?
He shot 52% from three, his upside is very clearly there lmao.
This Chauncey billups?
Detroit Pistons and Orlando Magic would make great trade partners for this guy come draft time.
Kyle Flipowski And Zach Edey And Stephon Castle
Tj McConnell with no defense but with 3 point rage is a top 3 pick?
plz hornets pair him w brandon
i dont think that he'll fit weel in spurs or raptors, i would say rockets, pistons, utah or even chicago
Future rocket 😍😍
Im convinced. Im taking Reed over Clingan for the rockets. rockets heavily need good shooting. especially 3 point shot.
This guy is a Houston Rocket
We'll see.
He is much more a 2 rather than a pg for sure
Very undersized at 2.
Future Pistons cause I know we will be the 5th pick again
You don't know that (and that tinfoiol hat looks good on you!), but he would be a fine pick at 5.
Lemme get them power ball numbers
Lmao you called it
@@scottwickett1273 he called it
Man 💀
Rocket
Best player in the draft dont @ me
if you only consider white boys then maybe... even then probably not😅
Year 1 I could see it but long term I don’t think his ceiling is high enough to be the best player from the whole class
Is he 6’3 or 6’0
Welcome to Houston, kid.
Bro is a bucket
🔥🔥🔥
Reminds me of a better Austin Reeves
could be John Stockton 2.0
People saying he is too short dont realize Curry is the same size as him. 🤦♂️
TJ McConnell with a 40% 3pt
Talk about him at #3. He’s JJ Redick. You don’t take JJ Redick at #3.
He's a San Antonio Spurs
He looks alright
His creation is not gone even matter if he gets picked by the rockets
If he was so good he would have not let his team get bounced in the first round.
should the sperms take dillingham or sheppard
The WHAT
whoooo? lmao😂
AYO
Bring him to Phoenix
Reed to Charlotte
2024 NBA Draft: Sheppard goes #3 to the Houston Rockets!!!
