What they don't tell you is that it cost $80 for the pass to go on the skywalk another $45 to take the shuttle bus to the skywalk (which is the only way you're allowed to get there), and you aren't allowed to bring cellphones or cameras onto the skywalk, but don't worry, they have a guy there that will take your pictures and sell them to you for about $60. This is a prime example of a tourist trap. Save your money and just go to the north point instead its completely free and has some really amazing views.
The EvilCommenter that's everywhere in todays world, here in Ireland they charge people to park their cars and an entry charge to view the cliffs of Moher on Irelands west coast. I went there in the 70's you could park your car where ever you want for free and go to see the natural landscape for free which is the way it should be.
My family and I just went 3/2018. Yes a little pricey $70 for each but I would say worth it. Looking out and down 4,000 feet was cool and a little nerve wracking. Very organized, shuttle that takes you to multiple viewing sites. Helicopter tours and dinning on property as well for extra $. No cameras I think because could drop and back up others while trying to view. They will take your picture and option to buy ( we did And looked great) $17 5/7 size. I would recommend and I know my younger kids will never forget it 👍🏻
*INCREDIBLE experience! Glad you were able to record it ~ somewhere right after stepping onto the glass, I basically froze!!! Could only look down once ~ that by accident ~ and my heart was somewhere behind my right ear the rest of my 'inching along' on the SkyWalk ledge! Incredible! Fantastic views! Thank you for showing me all that was right there beneath and around me!* 💖💖💚💚💖💖
The West Rim is a tourist trap if not the biggest rip off for Vegas tourists..go to the South Rim or the North Rim people. That is the real Grand Canyon National Park
I was just there on 5/28/16.... Man what an amazing feeling to walk up to the edge of the canyon....and the Skywalk too....but Guano Point is really beautiful if you climb up the extra 90 feet.....nothing but canyon 360' view....loved it!
WOOOOOOW I went there more than 10 years ago and they didnt have that yet I was amazed by the beauty of it all and now that thats increidible LOVED the music you placed on the video gave me chills in an awesome way!!
Absolutely stunning footage, I haven't seen the Grand Canyon since my last visit in '95 and after watching this I can't wait to go back. Love the music too! 👌🏽
I saw a short film taken from a much faster low flying small aircraft or it could be a chopper in a small theatre when I was touring US. It was simply fantastic. I find this the best and impressive way to discover the Grand Canyon. Thank you for uploading the video.
It is beautiful but I felt my whole being just crawl back in my seat~ I am deathly afraid of heights! Glad you all had fun:) Just adding that I could not finish it, hahaha!
The music is from the gladiator movie soundtrack I listed it in the notes. Epic music for an epic canyon. The video doesn't do justice seeing the canyon in person is breathtaking.
The Skywalk doesn't do justice to those that want to really see the Grand Canyon. Only the National Park or the Havasupai reservation will give you that experience.
Only the skywalk was there when i walked it, i met an old cockney feller that lived in LA and he wanted my england cap, which i gave him, i then took him lots more english stuff over when we stayed with them for a bit. Hes passed away now but ill never ever forget him, top top geezer, rip old pal
When my wife and I visited the Grand Canyon we did a lot of walking around the Rim. It seemed that every ten steps we took we automatically took a picture. Wow. The skywalk was something I would have loved to do but I have a problem with heights “up close and personal.” My thanks to you for making this video so that I can finally take this sky walk from the comfort (and safety) of my own living room. Well done. Lare
That is amazing and looking at that it gives you chills.thank you so much for sharing your video with all of us thank you I can't wait to visit the Grand Canyon. And it is amazing how men built that that is really something thank you
Wow!!! Just watching this video my knees was shaking & rattling! But the music in this video relaxed and calm me as if I was in another realm walking in the tall brown grass looking for my love ones.
It looks amazing! I enjoy the great background music. The Gladiator is my favorite movie while this bridge becomes the top subject of my curiosity. It’s a great combination of creativity and bravery. People walking on that bridge are lost in the admiration of it. Art can unit people and create harmony.
I worked at the North Rim Resort for the 2015 season and after learning the history and way of partaking in the sky walk you should really just head up to the North Rim. It's 30$ and you can sit on the edge of much taller cliffs. I do support the Navajo people but how they run this attraction is really upsetting when you consider that despite our different backgrounds, as long as we respect our beautiful earth we deserve to explore our land and home.
All these negative and petty comments is what's wrong with our world. They are too busy complaining to see the beauty that this guy was trying to capture. Im pretty sure he didn't do this video for the sole purpose to impress you all "expert videographers" and if you think its too pricey then don't go. It's a damn shame when there is such beauty in front of you and there is one positive comment amidst 5 negative ones. Anyways amazing I'm glad you were able to find a loophole in the video rule so that those of us that rely on videos to see such beauty are able to. Thank you
Lindsay W This was my 1st video.... ever. I've gone on to be an award winning cinimitographer both on land, sea, and air. I still love making films. Watching my earlier stuff makes me work harder haha. Have you checked out my latest scuba video? Would love your feedback on my editing improvements from this video to now.
I’ll admit I have a couple of sarcastic comments myself. The thing is though nothing I wrote isn’t true. I’m sure it’s an amazing view although I’m so afraid of heights I think I might very well faint.
Just visited this place in February and it was Beautiful!! Expensive but worth it. U no longer have to wear the booties but still can't take a camera or phone on SkyWalk. One of the best days of my trip and my life. I feel like I left a little piece of me there and need to go back lol.
I went on that, when a giant insect flew around me, and Instead of swinging at it and falling off, I got on my hands and knees and crawled back out and left. It’s an awesome structure. I don’t know about being safe from an 8.0 earthquake, though. Hopefully you never experience that! It is a Great Structure! Beautiful if you’re NOT scared of heights.
I wonder how fast one can clear that skybridge from people if you suddenly shout - "A CRACK!! I SEE A CRACK!!" LOL. Love the theme song from the movie "Gladiator" which the uploader chose as the background song for the video. There are some songs that just seem to be made in heaven. This ethereal song is one of them.
I didn't know they also have skywalk there! By the way great video. James Asquith has also made a vlog on grand canyon where he lands in the grand canyon!
To those who wonder.....the skywalk is suspended above the canyon a total of around 4000+ feet and the glass is 5 layers of about 3/8" thick...each capable of withstanding about a shock force of about 100lbs per square foot.
I went four years ago and they didn't allow camaras at the time you were walking on the bridge. It's so beautiful I'm planning to go again, thanks for sharing your video with us.
I was really never fascinatedby the Grand Canyon until I saw it on Google Earth. It looks sooooooomuch better through there becauseyou can actually see a lot more of it. You can see the river that runs through it! It's amazing!! And you can zoom in!! Because of Google Earth, I'm actually looking forward to visiting the Grand Canyon one day. Hopefully soon!!... Thanks for the video!!
While we were in Las Vegas......We went there last month.........it was awesome. We took a helicopter up,there so it was quite pricey. Finally marked this off my bucket list!
At the beginning, I like how the facts of the structural integrity is given to offer the viewers the confidence to the safety of the Skywalk. Here's another fact...in 1912, they said that the TITANIC was UNSINKABLE! Look how that turned out.
This is just a grossly overpriced tourist trap stolen by a corrupt tribal government from the Developer who built it for them but didn't get paid what he was due. Go to the National Park to see the real deal. If you want to see the Indian part of the Grand Canyon, arrange a hike into the Havasupai Reservation, which will be a several day back pack unless you get a hotel room, they have a small one there. This reservation is the most beautiful place in the Canyon but takes a while to get into. Their tribe is an honest one.
***** Absolute nonsense. That was centuries ago, no relevance to now. Tribal gov'ts in Arizona are corrupt to the core. They steal from their own people as well as others, violate federal and state laws and violate court orders. Your racist and ignorant rant is two centuries behind the times. By the way, ignorant one, reservations are not mandatory to live on and most First Nations don't live on them. Native? There is no such thing as a Native American, people didn't evolve in the Americas.
***** Except that that was 1 1/2 centuries ago and no living person has experienced this. So your comment is many generations out of date. Also, there are no indigenous humans in the Americas, your lack of scientific knowledge is noted. There is no existing discrimination of any kind towards First Nations people in the US, anywhere. There is, however, the power for reservation gov'ts to break many laws and get away with it. Corrupt tribal gov'ts that steal and embezzle should be handled like any other corrupt officials. Get a grip on the 21th century, kid. You're living in the 19th.
***** The scary thing is that you didn't have anything to say and said it anyway. I live in this area, I'm directly aware of the scandals this tribe has been involved in. You're quite ignorant of all this subject matter, relying on half century old stereotypes.
Bert Distefano Go to the National Park ($25 entrance fee), hike down into it, make reservations for free with the Park Service for any overnight camping (although there may be a wait for bottom of the Canyon campsites). $950........for a few minutes on a glass bridge and other touristy stuff. Nothing like the view inside the Canyon down to the inner Gorge, which is free. Except for the strenuous exercise, of course. For those not inclined, there are trails all along the Rim.
We went there in 2016 as part of a helicopter tour from Las Vegas and the whole experience was amazing. I think you missed the best part in your video though and that is the ‘eagle’ in the rock face (Eagle Point) but a nice video all the same.
Last year(2017) I piad the money, went out on this skywalk, and made one mistake: I looked down. Immediately I froze and didn’t move for a whole minute. It was that terrifying. Finally, the photographer walked up and asked me if I was okay. My reply was,”Can you aim me for the neasrest exit?” He must have seen this before because he guided me back on “dry land” anbd sat me down on a bench. Me, being the smart ass that I can be, thanked him anbd then suggested that they hire a troupe of Irish folk dancers to walk out and perform Riverdance at the farthest point. He laughed his ass off and said,”I dont think so."
The first European who discovered the grand canyon , said no one will ever want to go there again the land is worthless ! We like the music just right ! :-)
Imagine the workers building this thing- that's what gets me. Our progress in engineering is amazing.
Remember what they said about the Titanic? Unsinkable,,,!
@AK47 KUSSSHH It will never see completion.

The builders never said it was unsinkable . It was the press at that time !

Its because of the way our brains and vision are wired. Built in safety reaction we dont often realize we possess.
