😂 yea same I never caught a musky but last summer I caught a 30 inch pike it was definitely the largest fresh water fish I ever caught im a younger angler im turning 23 this may
The entire world is a never ending horror movie. There is always a bigger fish. Why do you think most things have so many babies, most are gonna die before reproducing.
Most fish that big, are probably hitting 5-6 old, pretty crazy, makes me understand why Bass Anglers get so Anal About keeping bass to eat 😂. I still do it anyways
Nah someone that actually knows how to work a real looking lure will get shlomped so quick. This angler is very inexperienced and doesn't know how to work the lure
It was the fish of about an hour for me and my dad. We went to our local creek and my dad hooked into a nice muskie within about an hour. It was his first muskie ever. We kept fishing and not 5 minutes later my dad points to the water and goes "there's one there too!!!". We both saw a second muskie check out the shoreline for a moment. I threw my lure in it's general direction and hooked into what was my first muskie ever as well. Both fish were about 30 inches. We both caught our first one, on the same trip, not even 5 minutes in between.
Just shows you how much they analyze potential food before eating it. Im thinking the second one was either extremely hungry or just not as wise as the first
When multiple fish are involved it can be become kind of competitive, wouldn’t want to lose your meal to the other guy, so increased time to think “is this real food?”
Wrong. It’s been proven that when they’re not hungry they’ll just find prey and sit in front of it and wait until they’re hungry so when they’re hungry they have food options available.
I've been thinking about dropping about 4k maybe more into a Slayer 12.5. You think getting out on the Kayak fishing is worth it? Looks like sooo much fun to me.
@@SuaveHousexx absolutely. Kayak fishing is alot of fun and way easier than dropping a full size bass boat. As far as how much to spend, that's up to you to decide based on what's most important to you. Good luck!
@@SuaveHousexx I exclusively fish from a kayak, and I would say absolutely go for it. However, if you’re not 100 percent sure see if you know anyone that has a kayak and borrow it for a day. Whenever I see footage like this, I always am amazed how well games program the fish getting bored/uninterested from the bait if it's not drawing enough attention to itself.
When you said this is sick! It brought back all my fishing memories of the exhilaration you feel when you get that bite and then reel it in. Short fight on this one but still fun.
Sweet clip there Matt! Holy crap. I usually see them follow then not commit. I think they second one made it a competition and that triggered the strike. Very cool!
Amazing to get muskie photos of fish that havn't been already caught. I lived on a lake that had muskies for many years. Never even saw one let along caught one while fishing. But we were just kids...
I’m surprised you never got a bonus muskie while fishing for something else, the first few I caught I was targeting bass with smaller lures. Muskie really need to be in a certain mood to bite though.
WI native, gear fished my whole life, picking up a fly rod changed the game for me. Small mouth and musky fishing on the fly is SOOO much more rewarding. No hate here, to each their own, but at least try it sometime! Tight lines.

Gotta go bro, all you LATER! DAVE: THANKS PAL!.....GULP! (A few moments later) JOHN: Hey, has anyone seen Dave? he still owes me $20.
That felt a bit like hunting and fishing, that was incredible. I live near the 2 lakes with state records for musky in my state. Ive never caught a musky, but I plan to.
My dude, how did you manage to keep that camera steadier than half of Hollywood while also low-key having an adrenaline rush from seeing these damn dinosaurs?? My hat’s off to you, sir. You are very talented.
I really think some scent would help when they're following and lethargic. Where I'm from I don't use scent in speckled trout all year until winter and it produces 3x's the bites. One day I was seeing 3-5 following my baits at a time, had to coax them into biting. Made me think if scent was drifting in their faces they would hit more, it worked
Man I've caught one muskie in my life. Idk about where you're from, but here in TN, at least at the time I caught it, the requirement to keep it was 50 inches. It was just under 48 and it broke my heart. I've always wanted to try muskie. I heard it's delicious
Matt gets done in 4 hrs what has taken me 40 years! There is no better fishing channel on RUclips.
That’s what I’m saying I try every bait he uses and good spots and nothing

Wrong. It’s been proven that when they’re not hungry they’ll just find prey and sit in front of it and wait until they’re hungry so when they’re hungry they have food options available.

That was the shortest Muskie fight I’ve ever seen. Awesome footage thought👍
That was National Geographic level cinematography with the steady camera and clear water 👍👍👍
That was beautiful for sure
Not to mention the presentation of the lure was perfect
Probably used a type of polarizing filter to help block out some reflections.
