I joined one of my real life friends in a game, whom I haven't seen in 13 years, and when I stepped out of the cryo-pod into his ship, his hell diver was already there with open arms waiting for a hug.

One thing I like with the involvement of every player trying to liberate a planet is that every game from every player is technically cannon in the overall narrative. Our games are in-game war stories. When players fail, their stories are the after-action reports of a failed mission. When we succeed, especially in a cinematic way, those are the stories of valor that inspire future Helldivers.
We are the story. Our fights write the narrative. There are few games I can think of where this happens but it always feels special when it happens.
To the point where our stories are literally canon in regards to how the devs see them. They actually change the narrative based on some of the more interesting stories and whether we win or lose.
Everytime you lose connection or crash your diver has simply gone MIA communication lost and no one knows what happened to them from there maybe it was only a temporary loss and they come back maybe it’s permanent and they’re never heard from again and all we know is that while lost they still did their part till the very end
I regularly blame my deaths by turrets on “automaton hacking” when the turret, just for whatever reason, mows you down when you can’t see a single enemy is hilarious.
@@z34567890123456 thats funny because i blame super earth whenever stuff like that happens, things like that are the futuristic hollow bricks of the super earth military machine. “Put a friendly detection system in the turret? Nah cost too much for RnD just send them out!” Everything is supposed to be expendable, all this stuff is new and futuristic to us as players, but in game ends up having its moments of instability. Horror stories of turrets turning on teammates, recruits not knowing the safe distance from stratagems and watching in horror as a rocket the size of a car lands on their squad during a barrage
drg kinda has this, but it’s definitely to a far lesser extent, it’s more like set dressing for the lore instead of actual story
One of my favourite parts about this game is that major upgrades aren't your armour or guns, but your destroyer. In game every time you die, you're just another poor schmuck being launched to the surface, so your ship where you get your strategems from is just as much a part of your character in game as the player character.
I picked that up the second I played the game yesterday for the very first time. I was dropped at a hot zone and died 6.8 seconds later by bugs after literally JUST leaving my pod. Literally had no time to even blink an eye. 😑 I’m still pissed about that cause that cadet I started training with died. I play the game now knowing the original me died the moment they stepped out of the pod… 😔
@@supremeteen1975accurate depiction of war
@@supremeteen1975 The rolling rows of frozen helldivers you emerge from into your ship is kind of indicative that your character is just a disposable one of many. The illusion of being an individual because you're allowed to make a few choices, when your really on a conveyer belt to your death.

Worth it for Helldivers
After they had a bunch of random big influencers on the 10th aniversary instead of the guys who been making consisten vids on ur games and supporting it makes it hard to be loyal
is it really worth being partners with such a scummy and money hungry company these days?
@@ysl6549 absolutely. Seeing a bunch of random influencers that probably never played Payday being invited, and not seeing a single Payday content creator in the middle of them, was really bad. Because I'm sure that most of those influencers communities, don't give a flying fuck about Payday at all. Not only that, but as you said, it doesn't look like they (Starbreeze) were loyal to their own community, and moves like this, will only make your own community go away.
The whole Statagem system is likey an older relic and charm of Arrowhead, Along with the friendly fire working so well.
Given they made Magicka way back when, Which is a cult classic PvE game with Keypressed combo magic system and FriendlyFire.
That's the part I like the best about HD1, you basically memorize all the common used strategm like back of your hand especially during clutch time. I still can throw 4 shredder missiles in under 6 seconds with some practice, lol. Also, the field of view also helps to plan and dance around your enemies with top down view. But HD2, man, it's like watching a cinematic movie, except you are right smack in the middle of it.
What I adore about the way they handle updates is that they treat it like a breaking news update. Right now they’re giving us mech suits to use. However, in universe these suits are being built on a specific planet, and the automatons are assaulting it. So if the community can’t liberate that planet in time, we have to wait longer to get those mechs. It’s so engrossing and drives you, as the player, to dive in and participate. It’s incredible! Top notch, A+, beautiful job by the devs. This is an incredible game built by people that clearly care so much about it. Praise these devs and support them.
If they pre-developed new mechanics to add, then included them in the game in a way where we could actually “delay” the release of said mechanic by losing a battle, I’d lose my shit.
Imagine having a game full of mechanics that we could “lose” as bots and bugs advanced on our system, forcing us to battle together to win over key planets that we’d lost to get them back.
Similar to the ion storm mechanic, but with more urgency.
Meanwhile, as we focus efforts on a key planet, it allows the NPCs an opportunity to advance on other areas of the map, potentially threatening other resources that we need.

One of my tests for a game: is it just fun to run around? If you're doing literally nothing but just running around like an idiot and it's fun, then there's something there.
Lemme tell ya. Diving like a fucking idiot off of cliffs and jumps and eating shit and seeing the ragdolls? It's VERY fun.
Especially on planets with deep ravines serving as obstacles, sometimes you see a spot where the two sides are just close enough that it looks like you could dive across. And sometimes it even works!
Bonus points if you're being cornered by a squad of robots and that's your only feasible way out.
Me and my friends made a lil competition when waiting for exfil, dive off the highest point and see who can get their health the lowest.
Also meleeing your buddies off a cliff is a fucking riot
The planets are also extremely well designed from a visual standpoint.
It’s funny cus when the game first came out, somebody was complaining about the no jumping in the game. Somebody replied, how many times do you jump in real life.
My first time ever playing the game i had a friend over, and he told me to dive down some stairs. I did, i ate shit, and we laughed for a solid five minutes before bugs found me and killed me twice
The core reason for its success is the fact that the game released polished and in a state that would be perfectly fine if left without updates as on the opposite side pd3 came out broken, lacking core features, overpriced to hell and being very slow on releasing the bug fixes with new content
A game releasing polished and without any core features missing is a miracle these days
Even with major bugs like armor just not working and the lack of servers, it still managed to survive past launch.
Broken armor ratings forced players to learn how to embrace the light armor for maximum speed
helldivers 2 allowed you to unready and even exit the drop pod, which made it 200% better than payday3
I'm guessing you aren't including bugs in your definition of polished. Because the game has quite a few bugs some of which can ruin your game. And I say that as a legit level 50 skull admiral. Didn't farm a single time.
one way I'd improve helldivers is add a bar to the ship, maybe even some special drink that provide funny effects made from uncommon ingredients you can find on the helldives

Helldivers 2 appeal largely benefits from the gaming community's fatigue with low-quality, hugely micro-transacted, bright-colored, and high-contrasted PVP games, and skins that have flooded the market recently. I feel like developers these days are prioritizing what they can sell in the game at the expense of the actual gameplay. Helldivers 2 is a throwback to the early 2000s when games felt like a movie. The days of peak Call of Duty and Halo. The nostalgia of what gaming felt like. Just grinding with your friends and having fun.
So explain the gaming community attacking Starfield?

yup - triple a games have become designer games. Shallow products that are only defined by brandrecognition and how expensive they are. Instead of being actually well made
Baldurs Gate 3 was amazing and just released half a year ago. It’s not recent games that are shit, it’s the same triple A studios that just produce shit. People keep buying CoD but the product gets half assed every year, no passion behind the production. People should vote with their wallets
Yes. Many "live service" game are still kicking hard. PoE, Warframe, FF14, GW2, Planetside 2, etc. It is just, when the game developer has a vision that was not ruined by board, investor and management shitty stacking bottom line, they can blossom to be the game they aspire to be
My favorite part of the game is how much character they put into the enemies when you wouldn’t expect them to. The bugs especially all have very nasty personalities and even a sense of humor. The chargers can be seen rudely shoving a smaller bug out of the way, the hunters and stalkers flanking and hanging up on you, and my favorite, the hive guard wag their tail when they get into a defensive position against you lol.
I have seen warriors just absolutely demolish small bugs if they get in the way lol
My favourite is when the titans absolutely obliterate chargers if you are between them and the titan decides to spew acid on you. It’s quite an effective way to get rid of chargers
I heard that the tail wagging is their preparation for emitting their alarm pheromones. I haven't played the game yet though, so idk.
Chargers (whether it be by design or a bug) will walk up to you while you're standing still/prone while you're not looking and just stop and glare at you from less than 6ft away.

This really needs to be industry standard. I despise paying for the privilege of maybe or maybe not filling a bar for my dlc purchase to unlock.
I’ve been playing for a week now, and though I see paying extra for credits will make it quicker to unlock things with those battlepasses especially, I don’t feel obligated to do so to be able to play the game well. The devs really have struck a good balance. It’s not at all pay2win. If you wish you can pay extra to get more options available sooner, but it’s not required and you can get everything by just playing the game. I don’t even feel like I have to grind to unlock things. And at no point are micro transactions with actual money pushed into my face. Stuff like that, feeling like games are pay2win or even pay2compete, have ruined online gaming a bit for me. This is such a breath of fresh air.
9:45 i would kill for a phasmophobia style "pre planning" in payday 3. freely walking around the safe house, choosing weapons from chains' gun locker, preplanning on the signature table™ 😎👊, getting into the van to start the heist etc would be so awesome
Something similar to the vermintide series would be nice
Phasmophobia and Vermintide style lobby, yeah that could work! The characters could do banter and whatnot, it's perfect.
Interactive menus are just amazing. They are one of the reasons the Cyclops from Subnautica is my favourite in game vehicle of all time. Having to move around a space to do something, even if it's just moving the camera to click a button in the world, is just so much more enjoyable than having a hotkey, or a dropdown menu.
And loading screens of driving to location. :P

I do think having different types of currency is fine for Helldivers 2. Since it does feel like they encourage you to play the game in different ways.
Medals rewards you for doing missions and completing whole operations. Renown is owned with EXP and is like a failsafe that allows you to unlock cool stuff even if you lose. Samples award you for actually exploring the map.
Yeah, took me a moment to figure out what all the currencies do, but it all makes sense. This game really rewards exploring, both in the map to gather samples, medals, credits etc. and just on the ship, with the different things you can interact with. But also: Try different weapons on different enemies, try destroying the environment using guns, grenades, orbital strikes etc. There’s a lot to find out just by trying.
The way I see it, Helldivers 2 is basically a more violent version of Deep rock Galatic.
The major difference, is the conquest of planets, that the game kept from helldivers 1.
And a bit on the graphics.
More violent? Ehhhh....
More Bombastic? Oh yeah, definitely
I'd like to think the Deep Rock Galactic has sent many dwarves around planets, it could be possible there are dwarves underground doing their thing and the Helldivers spreading freedom on topside.
don't forget that DRG is an RPG in it's truest form while Helldivers is not
@@kaelevi7701 i have DRG in my library but haven't touched it even once. what do you mean it's an RPG? genuinely interested! might have to give a go if/when some of my HD2 addiction wanes.
@@cannedpiss5178 I think the person is referring to specifically the existence of DRG's 4 different classes with their own general roles, although it doesn't force you to specifically fill out every role on a team, as each class is able to function independently. That being said, DRG is in the same genre and style of coop horde shooter and I'd highly recommend you try it.
Yet another update for the game this morning, which makes sense as the developers provide the live service part of their game. Payday 3 devs just wanna get live service money without providing the service. They include QOL, bug fixes, content, and balancing in every patch several times a month. Compared to payday 3 fixing one or two bugs every century. I only wish payday 3 could have done worse to send an even stronger message to whoever is in charge at starbreeze.
The chunkiness of the guns and ordinance is probably my favorite thing in this game. Machine guns and AR's feel satisfyingly consistent to shoot, and shotguns feel like they have enough weight to make each shell count even when unloading with the auto-shotgun. Explosions especially those called by ordinance feel great to use with the countdown timer followed by earth shaking boom really playing into the power fantasy without trivializing the challenge. I do hope we get true Heinlen style mobile infantry mechs from the books to really give players that cinematic experience.
The funny part is that this isn't even the first time a fun sensibly monetised co-op shooter with satirical edge became a success as Deep Rock Galactic has already proven that you don't need predatory microtransactions to sustain a game, only hordes of bugs to squash.
Rock and stone!
the fact that the game already feels like a full experience and stuff is still being added. All the base components work well together and are really fun. More content is always nice but currently just switching between fighting bugs and bots feels like two different games. Any issues I have with the game are currently quality of life stuff, mainly that the end screen is wayyyyy to long and cant be skipped or sped up.

I usually very much adhere to the "knowledge is power" philosophy in games and have a wiki open on a second screen pretty much all the time.
But with Helldivers 2, I just went in blind, never even having heard of the first game. Discovered things on the way.
The absolute excitement and terror you feel when seeing some stuff for the first time in your mission is thrilling.
i feel like helldivers has shown us what payday 3 really could have been (or could still be with enough hopium). i know in terms of scope they are really different but there are definitely elements that devs in the future can take away from this game. maybe the main reason is the fact that helldivers has the fundamental features of a multiplayer game that were omitted from payday 3 but i think extraction shooter-esque games have a way to bring players together for a joint cause like no other genre seems to do very often. think deep rock galactic and lethal company. the idea of fighting for a cause far bigger than yourself with a small team of friends just hits different and its a shame that payday 3 hasnt really been able to capture this energy.
helldivers 2 has given me the most fun in a while from new releases since lethal company or the cyberpunk 2.0 update and dlc. many of the criticisms of the game ive seen are mainly about a lack of endgame progression and lobby toxicity which i havent managed to encounter myself being a level 39, and can be addressed by the developers who seem to be very open , genuine and enthusiastic about the game.
I think the main thing Helldivers does that differentiates itself from every other live service game is simply that it doesn't expect you to treat it as a second job you pay for. The warbonds have no time limits, daily orders while a thing only pay out about as much as a standard mission and weekly orders are community driven and only require very little participation on your part to be eligible for rewards while still having that grind for people who to turn their brain off and watch number go up.
I can actually treat the game like an actual leisure activity and not be punished by it's systems for not being active enough.
there's 15 difficulties in the first game, and it plays vastly different due to its isometric perspective. HD1 has some of the most laid-back people possibly in a multiplayer community ever, the worst experience you'll get is someone who doesn't have push-to-talk on and accidentally breathing into the mic.
There was only 12 on release. The last 3 were added later.
When I listened to the CEO of arrowhead and his lead programmer playing with another RUclipsr they were very candid Swedish military types with a passion we are in good hands. Also having Joel GM has added a protagonist to my life unexpected but a pleasure to be sure 😊
when I first saw the server browser I was so happy and so sad for payday 3 at the same time, the star destroyer hub and how it integrates into the game is absurdly brilliant
I think helldivers 2 videos would be a LOT better than more payday videos
I just kinda want to forget about payday in general
When I first started playing Hell divers 2 I had no idea the automatons were in the game until I queued for a quick play game dropped in and got shot death by robots
People complaining about the nerfs should maybe start considering getting actually good at the game, I also mained the rail gun, but I still do good at the game because I made the weapon good, not like people complaining, those were made good by the weapon

In an era where publisher's are pushing games out faster and faster, Sony let Arrowhead cool for 8 years on this game, and it payed off

When was it ever a hard bar to beat?
PD2 only became playable after years of working on it for a lot of people.
The 5 million copies they gave out for it for free only adds to the sheer amount of players that tried it and left it behind, if you do a quick math with the 80% players that did atleast 1 heist in it you're already at 33.000 players trying it out each month over the course of 10 years... except that even more people bought it and they only gave it out in 2017 to hopefully revive the game with people dropping as fast as they're coming in. The people who stuck with it have always been a huge minority - and I can't blame anyone for leaving after having to deal for years with bs and glaring issues that only got fixed after more than half a decade.

The only reason I never realised Helldivers 2 was online only was because the game is that good I don't want to play it offline. The teamwork aspect is that great that I only want to play it online, regardless if that is the only choice available
Arrowhead has taken the 4 man coop shooter genre to the next level. It's so visceral, gritty, punchy, and deliciously silly. Perfection.
"Next Level" - not too sure about that. L4D still is unbeaten in some of it's QoL features til this day.
Sure it's definitely on the better side of games without any doubt - but next level is not exactly the word I'd be using.
@Unknown_Genius Neither would I. However, in the current game market, Helldivers 2 is definitely worthy and warranted for its praise. They didn't need to reinvent the wheel for their game, something that suited them well as we can see. There's more to a game than just a dick measuring contest of who thought of what first.
@@changeling5984 Where is it a measuring contest? I did say that it's worth the praise but it's not next level like some act with an example on why - so we're on the same page there.
And on the current market? Yeah, if you never turn stones and only buy the biggest titles that may be true, there however are absolutely great games released that never see above a few hundred or if they're lucky thousand players - with some being so clean in their mechanics that it begs the question how games either backed by multi billion dollar companies or made by multi billion dollar companies can be so clunky in comparison.
@Unknown_Genius Honestly? I choose my words piss poor there. You're right that there may be the greatest of games hidden beneath the sands and that only buying the biggest titles isn't a sure-fire way to get good games presently. Though the problem with those 'good games' is as you said: They don't get anywhere near as many players as others do. Helldivers success is an exception in this regard.
As for how those multi-billion dollar games end up so disappointing? The answer lies, as most of the time, on greed or publisher demand.
@@changeling5984 fully agree with that, especially on greed which at this point probably goes deeper than only the publisher side in the AAA industry - and that deeper ain't gonna stop as well as long as CEOs or lead personnel get "fired" with millions as a paycheck - not exactly hard to see why someone would just claim their game is finished or in a good state if it isn't when they either get a second chance or an absurd amount of money as compensation.
Nice to see you branching out Harry! Keep the great content coming bruv we love to see it 🤘
On my first ever Helldivers 2 mission, I randomly joined a guy who was like level 10-15. He hard carried me through the whole thing, I was the only one who died at all, but he was very friendly and helpful, dropping me weapons and a shield generator. We barely managed to extract, then when back on the ship, I triumphantly unlocked some new stuff, then turned around just to see him stand there waiting for a hug.
Hell Yeah Kknowley, make videos on what you're enjoying. If you're happy making them it makes us happy watching them.
One of the best things about this game? The screen isn't littered with numbers or some other nonsense telling you how much damage you do. The damage you weapon is doing is visible on the enemy you are shooting and reflected in their movements.
Shoot their legs off? Bugs will still crawl after you as they are bleeding out.
Blow a charger's bulb? It will still stomp around in attempt to kill anything around it until it finally bleeds out.
You can see the damage each bullet does. This is, in my belief, one of the most pivotal immersive aspects of this game.
Plus the bullets clearly deflecting shows how little, if any, damage you are doing as well. The UI is great because it is so simple. Helps keep immersion too
I can't wait for all the AAA devs to try to copy Helldivers 2 while learning all the wrong lessons from it.
Your timing is impeccable. I was gifted the game a week ago and it's been a blast. I've spent more time dropping since then than I've spent on Payday 3 in months.
Background footage is just like "let's see how many times can I run in front of a shooting teamate without dying" :D
Love it

I'm probably very mistaken, but why do I feel that most Payday content creators don't get along with General McBadass?
@@leowoooI mean, Gene is cynical but realistic. Perfect for spreading democracy with.
@@leowooo He's one of the very, very few who never was afraid to say what he actually feels.
That's why the payday subleddit absolutely hate him. Because he never participated in their circlejerk.
@@leowoooHe's been pushing out videos for a game series he has very clearly resented for the past six years because he acts like he's forced to.
@@OutlawedPoetpretty disingenuous take here
Maybe I gotta start diving.
+1
You absolutely should! I was hesitant at first too, but it is hella fun!
Rock and stone!
The game is a masterclass in audiovisually telling people what is going on whithout putting waypoints and brightly coloured stand-out object markers everywhere. Examples:
- When you shoot a target and they have armor that you cant penetrate, your rounds will very visually just ping off of it
- When calling for reinforcements, enemies play a specific animation, sound clue and particle effect before the reinforcements even arrive.
- Objectives dont always tell you exactly where everything is, often just the general area
I also love that theres often several solutions to a task rather than just a single one. Terminate an illegal broadcast? You can either hack it or be like: "Hmmm, what happens if I simply throw an explosive at the antenna tower...". Same with how you can destroy many destroyable objectives with a varietly of stratagems, different weapons or grenades. When I found out that I can toss a grenade through the door on a bot fabricator to instantly destroy it... Mind blown.
One of the greatest bits of the game is that there is a sort of "Dungeon Master" to the whole war, who's only job it is to throw curveballs at the community and create different orders from Superearth, controlling where the enemies attack and setting up events. The "Liberation of Tian Kwan" Operation being used as a narrative tool to introduce us to the Mechsuits was absolutely genius! It feels like the world is actually alive.
The descriptions of the ship upgrades are just funny. Apparently the cushion for the hellpods are based on springs, meaning that when you are approaching the surface at sound-breakings speeds your landing is only protected by a few flimsy springs.
its been an honor and a pleasure brother o7
Good news, more random weather like metoe showers and storms with the railshieldbresker meta being nerfed but still viable.
More stuff should be added, vics and mechs aee close
It has a lot of aspects similar to another recent success, Lethal Company. 4 player co-op, many menus are implemented into the world, there's a lot of knowledge-based progression, and missions force you to choose whether or not to spend precious time completing optional objectives.
Anytime we get to hear you being passionate about a game it is great content. I would love to see some more Helldivers 2 videos from you.
Joel can't keep us out of Malelevan Creek forever!
These devs made Magicka of course they know how to make a good game.
somebody's been paying attention for a long time,
and it shows
I for one would be thrilled to see you delve into content for games outside of PAYDAY too.
Helldivers 2 also seems like an ideal off-ramp to start with. I'd like to see what other games strike your fancy.
I will keep watching your channels regardless of what you choose to do moving forward.
"I really hope Arrowhead throws some curveballs ..."
The Illuminates are literal curveballs, don't worry
Helldiver 2 content is something I would absolutely watch
I'll be seeing you in the Creek

Helldivers 2 is about seeing bile titan for the first time and think “how the fuck am I supposed to kill that”
And
Shooting your teammate in the head and goes “pinged the charger land on it”
One of the big strengths of the game is the deceptive depth to the game. I've seen so many people comment on how simple the game is, but there's almost a milsim level of depth on so many of its mechanics. The way armor works, the way you move through different terrain, the way aiming and accuracy works, how there's individual limb damage, and a bunch of other small details that you'd typically only see out of milsims and tactical shooters.
The game is simple on the surface, and that makes it real easy to get into, but the depth is there to keep engaging you once you've put some time into it. It has the complexity that creates interesting and unexpected situations and stops things from getting too stale, without the horrible first impression most comparable games make that bounce off potential players. There's a lot of fun for an already invested player in learning small differences you can do that improve how you play. Learning the exact angle's and directions you can pierce or circumvent a charger's armor, and making decisions between trying to line up the perfect shot to consistently and efficiently down a charger versus just spraying into it knowing enough shots will hit weakspots to put it down, and the extra ammo is worth the time it saves. Or learning the stealth mechanics and setting up coordinated ambushes with your team to kill an entire patrol before they can call in reinforcements. You not only get a feeling of mastery from it, but you also get to start making decisions you didn't even realize you had.
Additionally, it's been something that's been driving discussions with my friends too. Almost every time we play, someone will bring up some neat little interaction they found, or a video breaking down a mechanic that the rest of the group didn't know about. Beyond other ways the game brings the community together, I think that has also been a strong driver of the community aspect.
As a fan of your content and helldivers, I am so glad to see you in it. Welcome to democracy my friend.
This “could be” a political resource war.
yes please, started a few days ago with this game and i'm loving it. Let us see how you handle a solo helldive ^^
My favorite part of the game for my was during my first mission with a random when we needed to do a objective that neither knew how to do it (i believe that it was redirect fuel) while under costant bug swarm
Oh boy, here we go.
I think I'll get off the train now lads, wanna dodge that Payday 3 bad, Helldivers 2 good circlejerk before people start getting bloody and raw.
Have a good one, and remember, Democracy is non-negotiable!
You're so special, unique, cool, and not like the other gamers. /s
It's a RUclips video not an airport. you don't need to announce your departure.
Enjoy Starbreeze's Unreal Engine school project, you may not be missed.
@@AlexanTheMan Don't make promises now!
With chargers it is possible to beat them without the laser and railgun, it’s just, well, challenging
it aint an enigma, it has soul, and passion, compared to all others
Hey btw advice for the robots: the respond to suppressive fire with decreased accuracy. The weapon suppressing must do damage to them though, so the bigger MG is the way to go for it.
I totally agree with the game getting a bit worse (less fun) the more familiar you are with the game. Loading a shell called a mini nuke in the seaf gun for the first time and not knowing what's in store, wondering what the hell a bile titan is, or even seeing orbs and airstrikes for the first time was so much fun.
Gotta love how he cuts away at 8:59 right before he gets blown the fuck up 10/10 editing Kknowley
I have ran into quite a few toxic players, kicking divers that accidentally team kill one time, kicking divers based on their load out, one of my teammates killed me because I started the extraction timer but there was still a small bug nest on the map, I still don't understand the thought process, once the ship has landed it will hang out until we leave
I would get kicked 50% or more of the time over the 10 years I played Payday 2, so Helldivers 2 has a waaays to go before I start complaining about that.
What I love about this game, even when it been a while since I played. The lore and the mission is what get me back in… because I know that you guys are doing your part and I need to support yall
What you trying to say using the gas strike stratagem’s input code for the thumbnail?
Love your vids btw
Didn't Know The Payday Community Is In The Meatgrinder Aswell, Thought It Was Mostly 40K, Halo, SW, Starship Troopers And Doom
The monetization model of the game is so refreshingly consumer-positive. After logging several hours and saving up the 1K credits I'd need to buy the premium warbond for free, I decided to support the game directly and bought the Super Citizen upgrade instead. The dev team behind this game deserves our money, and its entirely *because* they aren't demanding it.
I can already see a challenge like "complete a helldive difficulty mission as the engineer from TF2" using only sentry
After further consideration, the game, in fact, does not get worse as you get better.
For movie moments I've had one which is yet be topped in my gameplay. The last chance pelican coming in two of us left main objective ICBM yet to be launched.
I told my remaining teammate to get to the extraction with the Samples i'd handle the ICBM. only a few more stages to go. one of the deadliest games of ring around the rosie accured with me launching the ICBM in the last 20 seconds before the pelican left.
It's great how the devs know to balance the line of the crazy setting and humorous antics of super earth and the genuine fights for survival and glory you can get.
When my helldiver screams 'NOT TODAY!' it get's me immersed like nothing else.
your creativity in unique challenge runs makes for great content, but your analysis, writing, and delivery in these types of videos is head and shoulders above nearly all of the competition on this platform and surrounding video games as a whole. Thanks for the content and keep up the great work!
Appreciate that hugely!
I'm now patiently awaiting the engineer challenge run, if you decide to do it of course
Crazy how a fully polished game that respects its players with devs that also respect their consumers is good, crazy that
Because of this game i've fought in intense battles again with gaming buddies i've known for almost 20 years. When you get older, life gets in the way and not everyone is interested in the same games. Except this fuckin game! This is my GOTY because it's brought all of my old school gaming buddies together to spread managed democracy!
Hell divers is what i wish payday 3 was, the game design is just way more sensible. I don’t have a good feeling about the balance team though, they don’t seem to really understand the game beyond what people use a lot.
Ready or not also does the home world good as well, the calm of the police station with the tense feeling of anticipation really sells it
when payday 3 came out, i remember being one of like 5 people on reddit complaining that the safe house didn't replace menuing and being swarmed by people telling me that it would make payday worse, so I'm happy to see you echo the same sentiment. a hub area is infinitely better than the same lame menus we've had for years
17:07 All you say about this bomb of a game is true except this. Sadly. But there is mainly good vibes and this is wonderful. Coming back together with people I used to enjoy playing with and that’s also great. Thank you for this deserved hymn! See you ingame someday!
There's a good Payday game to play if you want it. It's called Payday 2 and the populated playerbase show this.
It's also online only as well, which drags the whole thing down again. Especially with Helldivers 1 being playable offline.
Sigle player dive is quite fun indeed, more stealth require and it plays out like MGS.
I love playing the game as someone who is absolutely wanting to get better and better, even without the need of meta weaponry or stratagems. though, shields are kinda a necessary i've noticed sometimes on higher difficulties.
My favorite part of dark souls 1 was all the experimental multi-player like seeing other players or hearing thier progress so the fact that every single ship, hellpod, and stratagem fire off you see is another team of people is awesome to see
So fun fact on the difficulty topic, in the first game there were 15 whole difficulties to play, so they actually did trim it down with 9.
