I have no idea why she didn't call the grandparents to come pick her up when she was walking around with "nowhere to go" since her dad was already threatening to send her to them. Bonus points if it was her maternal grandparents who knew that the house was a gift and would've questioned why no one BOUGHT ANOTHER BED.
This story could have been solved (on the surface) quite simply. Like, they are a typical suburban middle class family yet they couldn't move the stuff and put it in storage? Did nobody think to suggest that?

Whenever I'd see my mom going out or buying new things when I was younger, even though she said we couldn't afford much, I'd always justify it with "Maybe she's been saving for that for a while" and "Maybe these are somehow necessary and I just don't know it yet" while also telling myself "The reason my desk is falling apart and I'm using last year's school uniform again is probably because of our money problems" or something along those lines. It's part of the "Never take anything for granted" mentality that gets drilled into people's heads. I don't dislike her for it tho, I wouldn't be who I am today without the way my mom raised me

She could have been renting a fully furnished apartment. So she wouldn't have been able to bring the bed or other furniture.
Since she was working, she should have bought her own bed. She wasn't about to do that because she was enjoying herself tormenting OP.
I suspect that she in fact didn't move back home because "she didn't want to be alone". I think she had gotten herself into debt. Was hiding it from everyone.

I love these stories, and a lot of times I feel bad for the victims in the story. So many times I think “The Victims are being nice” and I would have been way meaner and stood up for myself
They’re all fake.
That's because you are (presumably) an adult, who thinks very differently from a child. A child has a love for their parents/caretakers that go above what an adult has for another adult, and will continue to love their parent even if that parent abuses them.
As well as the fact that they often can't stand up for themselves. They lack the physical means, they lack the financial means and they have no friends or relatives that they can rely on to help them and the authorities will not see them as independent individuals but will return them to their parents care unless there is evidence of serious abuse. Children and teenagers are simply extremely vulnerable as their parents are supposed to be their protectors, but if they are not, then they have little protection and few means to protect themselves.

I respect the father for not continuing to try to force their relationship. My dad just threatened violence. Didn't work he just started punishing me every time we got in an argument. The idea was to stop me from being so "sensitive". Skipping over that, the dad is still a terrible father
Except that is kind of what he did, if the mother had continued to stay away, this would have continued. OP is lucky that it was her half-sister and that they did not share a mother and said mother had the financial control and ownership of the house.

Was she being a brat initially when she was told she had to share a room with her sister, yes. Did she have every right to whoop her sister‘s ass for digging into her clothes and destroying them like that? Hell yes.
